Chapter 309

"That's up to him. I'll go and continue my work," Grace said as she left the editor's office in a hurry.

Hermione looked at Grace and sighed.

She walked to the door and closed it.

Then, she rang Heinz.

Outside, Heinz's phone buzzed. When he saw that it was a call from Hermione, he immediately opened

the car door and got in.

"Hello?" Heinz said as he picked up the call, "Editor Lowe?"

"Mr. Jones." Hermione said, "I have tried to put in a good word for you, but Grace was very determined.

I think you've really upset her this time. I don't know what happened between you two, but she looked

very determined in not wanting anything to do with you."

Heinz's whole body froze. He pursed his lips bitterly and said, "As I've expected."

"Grace will work overtime today.” Hermione continued, "I'm afraid this is all I can do for you. I hope

you'll keep your promise and not hurt Grace anymore."

"Thank you," Heinz said without much emotion.

Hanging up, Heinz sat alone in his car for quite some time.

Grace continued to write until 5:30 p.m. when

almost everyone had left.

She glanced at the editor's office and saw that Hermione was still there.

She sent the draft to Hermione's email and got up to walk towards the editor's office.

Grace informed, "Editor, my draft has been sent to your email. Please have a look. If you need any

changes, just let me know."

"Alright, wait for me for a while." Hermione replied, "Fifteen minutes."

"Okay," said Grace.

"By the way, Grace.” Hermione asked while looking outside, "Has everyone left?"

"Yes, they've all left," Grace replied

"Alright," said Hermione.

Grace hadn't been to the toilet the whole afternoon. Now that she was done with work, she hurried

there.

Meanwhile, outside the entrance,

Lester said to Heinz, "President, only Miss Smith and Hermione remain inside."

Heinz nodded.

Lester looked at his phone screen and added, "Miss Smith went to the toilet."

Heinz was stunned.

"She's alone." Lester said again, "Now it will be a good time, you should go in."

Heinz frowned and looked at Lester, asking, "She's in the toilet. Would that be appropriate?"

"Didn't you also enter the toilet at Folklore Village the last time?" As Lester finished speaking, he

suddenly realized he's said something awkward and quickly shut his mouth.

"Alex, your big mouth!" Heinz growled.

Lester sucked in a breath and said, "President, we're doing this for your own good. We won't simply tell

anybody else."

"Piss off," Heinz scowled, then he walked into the newspaper office.

Now, where was the toilet? He thought.

He immediately looked for a map of the building and went straight to the toilet.

He waited in the back of the stalls and thought to himself, "If it's this difficult to get a woman, I don't

even want to get married anymore."

Grace entered the toilet. As soon as she was done with her business, she reached out for the toilet

paper and felt a dark shadow coming in.

Because it was dusk, the light was a little dim. She narrowed her eyes and saw that it was Heinz. She

was stunned and felt embarrassed.

"You... Who let you in?" Grace's hand froze mid-air, then she subconsciously reached to pull up her

pants.

Heinz's tall figure was intimidating. He slammed the door shut.

Grace was startled, saying, "Don't come in. If you come in, I'm going to scream for help."

"You can scream all you want," Heinz said in a mellow voice as if he was not afraid of her threat.

"There's only Hermione's outside. I don't think she can hear you from where she is."

"You-" Grace glared at him and quickly pulled up her pants.

Heinz looked down at her, his eyes turbulent. He said in a drawl, "Grace, I've been thinking about it for

the entire afternoon. I think that we suit each other very well."

Grace held her breath and ignored Heinz. She quickly put on her belt.

Then, a powerful hand reached out and stopped her from moving.

He looked at her with burning eyes.

Grace felt anxious and asked in a hurry, "What on earth do you want?"

Heinz saw that she was angry and pulled her closer.

Grace landed with a thump onto his chest.

Heinz reached out his hand to grab her waist and lifted her up. Then, he turned around and went to the

washstand not far away. He placed Grace on it, dipped his head and looked at her closely.

Grace was in a panic. She was still holding her pants for fear that she might fall accidentally.

This man was simply unreasonable.

"Heinz, don't act like this. You're always like this, every time we fight, you think you can just do

whatever you want and everything will be fine. But I'm warning you, not this time," Grace muttered.

She tried to reason with him, but Heinz did not seem to be listening.

Heinz lowered his head and stared at Grace. Her nervous and tensed body made him understand

something instantly. She wasn't as indifferent to him as she tried to seem like.

Heinz raised the corner of his mouth and said surreptitiously, "If I want to do something, you'd be the

last person to stop me."

Grace gritted her teeth, "How dare you!"

"Do you think I won't?" Heinz locked eyes with her, and the seriousness in his voice showed that he

wasn't joking. "These few days that we've been apart, I've missed you every day, especially at night. I

missed you so much that I couldn't fall asleep."

"Shut up." Grace was irritated by his words. What was he talking about? She couldn't hear him out at

all.

"Grace," Heinz called as he remained unmoved. He inched slightly closer to her. His breath was

sprayed down with the sweet and thick smell of cigars.

Grace took a deep breath. Did he smoke for the entire afternoon?novelbin

She couldn't stand that stench.

She frowned and said impassively, "Heinz, please stop pestering me. We are not suitable for each

other."

Her tone was already cold, and she struggled to suppress her anger once again.

Heinz's heart skipped a beat and he said, "I know you're still angry. I did say those hurtful words, I

apologize for that."

"I'm serious." Grace said again, "Please, don't hound me anymore."

Heinz pressed forward and went ahead with his threat, "Grace, I only have feelings for you. Back then I

am just not so easy to accept such a change. I've been decadent for the past few days and found that

I'm reluctant to let you go. I can't bring myself to forget about you."

Grace felt threatened by him. Her body was stiff and she didn't dare to move. She was afraid

something bad would happen if she wasn't careful.

"If you say that we're not suitable again, I'll have you here right now, believe it or not. You can try me."

His tone was very casual, but he was very solemn. She could feel that he was ready to do it, and it was

both terrifying and intimidating.

Grace was stunned and couldn't respond at all.

Then, Heinz lowered his head, approached her, and uttered the words very slowly, "Grace, I'm begging

you, please give me another chance."
