Chapter 182

"I see.1' Grace Smith immediately replied, "Editor Lowe, I'll hang up now. I'm going to the hospital now

to see what's going on. Thank you for telling me this." "No problem." Hermione Lowe said, "It's just

something that I have seen and I think it's better to tell you."

"Well, thank you," Grace said.

"Alright."

As soon as she hung up the phone, Grace lifted the quilt, stepped on the cold ground, and began to

look for clothes to put on.

She quickly put on her clothes and went out in a mess without even combing her hair.

As soon as she arrived at the door, she suddenly thought of her son. She immediately went to her

sister's room and knocked on the door.

"Sister?" Alice Smith asked in a faint voice, "Is that you?"

"Alice." Grace opened the door and said to his sister, "I have an emergency and I need to go to the

hospital to visit a friend now. You and Little Gary can continue sleeping."

"You're going at this hour?" Alice got up and turned on the light. "I will be worried if you're going by

yourself."

"I'll take a taxi. Don't worry," Grace said.

"Sister, be careful." "Okay." Grace hurried downstairs, took a taxi, and went straight to the hospital.

When she arrived at the hospital, she realized that she didn't know which department and floor was

Heinz Jones admitted to. She just blindly rushed here without thinking too much after Hermione's call.

It had been several days since they had broken up. Heinz hadn't called Grace since, and she hadn't

called him either.

If he had not been injured, she might not have taken the initiative to reach out to him first.

However, in the middle of the night, the Emergency Department in this large hospital was full of people,

including victims of car accidents, people who had food poisoning, the elderly, and all kinds of other

patients.

As soon as she entered the emergency room, she was immediately overwhelmed by the suffocating air

and the loud noise that came from every direction. She was frazzled by the sight in front of her eyes.

Where was he?

She couldn't figure out how to reach him until she suddenly remembered that she still had his number.

She took out her mobile phone and dialed his number.

The call went through and it was ringing for a few seconds before the connection was cut off abruptly.

He probably refused to answer the phone.

Grace was rooted to the spot.

Did he refuse to answer the phone because he was still angry?

She was nervous and she tried to call again. It was the same outcome. The call was declined.

A mechanical female voice could be heard from the phone speaker: "The number you have dialed is

unreachable."

Her heart suddenly sank and she felt very flustered.

Grace quickly ran to the front desk and asked breathlessly, "Excuse me, may I know which room is

Heinz Jones staying in this hospital?"

The nurse from the emergency department looked at her and politely said, "Please wait a moment. I'll

check it for you."

"Okay, thank you." Grace nodded.

She could not calm down even after a long time.

She was worried about Heinz's situation.

About two minutes later, the nurse looked at her and said, "Mr. Heinz is not hospitalized, but he sent anovelbin

woman here because she was in labor. The hospitalization procedure was done by Mr. Jones. He

seems to be the father of the child."

Grace was stunned for a moment. "Heinz is the child's father?"

"Maybe." The nurse said, "The pregnant woman was taken to the delivery room after Mr. Jones has

signed as her guardian."

Grace's heart sank to the bottom of her stomach.

After a moment's hesitation, she immediately asked, "So, Heinz is not injured?"

"No." The nurse said, "Mr. Jones is fine."

It turned out that he was not injured.

That's fine.

That's good.

However, did he really send a woman to the hospital and signed as her guardian? Was he the one who

had signed and approved the operation?

Grace's heart was in a mess.

She pursed her lips and asked again, "Excuse me, has the woman delivered the baby?"

"She hasn't given birth yet. She's in the delivery room," said the nurse.

"Where is the delivery room? Please tell me," Grace said.

"Oh, sure, just exit this room and immediately turn left. Go upstairs, and the delivery room is on the

second floor."

"Okay. Thank you.” Grace quickly came out of the emergency room after thanking the nurse.

There were much fewer people outside now. The night breeze blew towards her and Grace tied her

messy long hair into a bun. At this moment, her heart was in shambles.

She took out her phone again and called Heinz.

This time, his phone was already turned off.

She held her phone while reeling from the shock. Did he turn off the phone because he was with

another woman, so he didn't want to answer the phone?

She gritted her teeth and went straight to the delivery room.

Not long after, when she arrived at the door of the delivery room, she saw that a crowd had formed

around a nurse.

"It's a boy weighing 3.65 kilograms and the mother has stopped bleeding. Mr. Jones, congratulations."

Grace took a glance at the tall man in the crowd. He stood there with his back facing her and he was

looking at the child in the nurse's arms. He seemed very delighted.

Standing next to him was Lester, who was also looking at the child with his back facing Grace.

"President, the child looks good."

"Yes." Heinz's voice was very joyful. He asked the nurse, "How is the mother now?"

"She's fine. She can only go back to the general ward after 24 hours of observation. Family members

can take care of the child in the meantime."

Heinz held the child in his arms and asked Lester, "Has the maternity matron arrived yet?"

"She's still on the way."

"When will she arrive?"

"She should be here soon." Lester stretched out his head to look at the child in Heinz's arms and said,

"President, have you noticed that the child looks like you?"

Heinz chuckled and said, "Really?" "Yes," Lester said, "After all, you have blood relation with him, it is

not surprising that both of you look very similar."

Heinz did not say anything else. He lowered his head and looked at the child attentively.

Hearing these words, Grace was thrown into a daze while standing there behind them.

She saw his tall figure, she saw him holding a child in his arms; she also saw his joy, and heard Lester

saying that they were blood-related.

Her heart had been cold for some time.

Grace wanted to get closer, but she couldn't move a step.

She had been standing there for a few minutes but Heinz, who was holding the child, didn't notice her

at all.

Her heart was full of despair. It was said that only when you treasure somebody deeply, you would be

able to recognize that person immediately even in a midst of a crowd.

He could not see her at all.

His attention was all on the baby, the child who was related to him by blood.

Grace laughed at herself. Yes, she slept with him. After witnessing her being hugged by Simon, he

couldn't wait to break up with her. Maybe he was indeed just playing with her.

Six years ago, he could spend a night in a tent with a strange woman like her.

Not long ago, he flirted with her and everything he had done was so incomprehensible.

And it was also him who had proposed to break up with her.

She had explained everything, but he still didn't believe her and wanted to break up with her.

Grace turned around and started to distance herself from the delivery room helplessly.

It was in the middle of the night and it was very guiet on the street. She walked for a long time and it

was already half past three in the morning when she finally returned home. It was almost dawn.

She didn't feel like sleeping at all.

Heinz also stayed up all night. He changed his clothes and came to the intensive care unit again with

an isolation gown. Looking at the pale woman lying on the bed, he said, "The child is very healthy. I

have arranged for a maternity matron to take care of the child. Don't worry."
