Chapter 1614

Liam gave Maria the gentlest and most sincere love he could give. He felt sorry for her, and thecloser he got to her, the more he loved her.

The two of them spent a warm night together. The next morning, Liam got up to buy somethingwhile Maria was still asleep.

He did not wake Maria up and went out early in the morning.

On his way back, he happened to bump into Teresa in the basement car park. It seemed as if shewas waiting for him. She stood next to a car wearing sportswear and sunglasses, with her hair tiedinto a ponytail.

When he saw her, Liam was surprised.

"Good morning." Teresa took off her sunglasses and walked over. She stood in front of him andsaid, "Did you go grocery shopping so early in the morning? Liam, you're still as active as ever."

Liam looked at her car and then at her. He frowned. "Do you stay here?"

"Yes, I moved in last night. My unit is in the same building as yours. I'll be your neighbor in thefuture." Teresa smiled and said, "I'm in Unit 2 while you're in Unit 1

Liam's frown deepened. "Just what exactly do you want, Teresa?"

Teresa smiled. "Nothing, it's just a coincidence. I wanted to move here too. It's convenient for me tolive in an apartment. Besides, now that I live so near to you, it'll be convenient for me to look for youin the future."

Liam's eyes darkened, and his gaze turned cold.

"Don't look at me like that," Teresa replied, shrugging her shoulders. "I'm single now, Liam. I canstay here if I want to."

"You're right. You have the freedom to stay where you want," Liam told her coldly.

He knew that there were some things he should refrain from asking, but he could not help but frownwhen he learned that Teresa had moved into the same apartment building as him. He quickly tookout the things he had bought from his car and locked the door, getting ready to leave.

Teresa looked at the bags in his hands. He had bought enough food for two people. A look ofsurprise flashed in her eyes, and she asked, "Liam, are you in a relationship?"

Liam ignored her, his face expressionless.

Teresa did not give up and continued to follow him. She stared at the bags in his hand and asked,"Does your company know that you're in a relationship? Are you really in a relationship?"

"It's none of your business," Liam said coldly. "You're neither my manager nor my boss. So nomatter what I do, it has nothing to do with you."

"So, does that mean you admit to being in a relationship?" Teresa looked at him with deep worry inher eyes.

Liam struggled to control the last bit of reasoning he had.

He knew that he did not have the ability to protect Maria at the moment, thus he could not giveanyone any chance to hurt her.

"No, I'm not in a relationship." Liam took a step back before continuing. "But it doesn't matterwhether I am in a relationship or not. My love life has nothing to do with you, Miss Trevino."

Teresa was slightly relieved to hear his denial, but when she saw the things he was holding, she feltconfused again. "Then, why did you buy these things?"

"How many times must I tell you? It has nothing to do with you," Liam replied impatiently.

"You're right. It does not have anything to do with me. I'm just worried about you. If you're really in arelationship, your company will definitely not be happy about it. You're already in a bad situation.Liam, you need me. With my current abilities, I can definitely offer you some sort of protection."Teresa looked at him and said in a sincere manner, "I know this will hurt your self-esteem, but Liam,do you think you have any other choice? If they continue to suppress you like this, you'll be donefor."

"All I know is that whether or not I succeed, it has nothing to do with anybody."

Liam knew full well that his success was related to his own character and habits. No one else couldmake his decisions for him.

He was now bound by a contract, but if he could not break free from his current difficulties, he wouldnot be able to go far even with the help of other people.

Right now, what he needed to do was to be prepared at all times. He needed to find an opportunityand make a breakthrough.

In his heart, he was clear about what he needed to do.

He was only expressing his true thoughts. As he looked at Teresa, his eyes were exceptionally clearand honest.

Teresa was momentarily dumbfounded, and she felt a little ashamed.

She could not help but take a step back.

Liam narrowed his eyes and continued in a cold voice, "Teresa, I don't need you to help me. I don'tneed your help either. I've considered what you said last night, and I've decided that I won't acceptthat role. Bye."

With that, Liam walked away.

Teresa watched as Liam's tall figure walked in the direction of the elevator, then took the elevator upto the first floor.

His words struck a chill in a heart.

She took out her mobile phone and called Liam's manager. "Liam won't accept the part. He won'ttake it even after I suggested it. Why don't you do it yourself?"

"He won't accept the part?" Johnny repeated in surprise. "He hasn't had any income for a long timenow."

"Yes. He also admitted that he has been pawning off his luxury items to get money. Even so, hesaid that he would only rely on himself. He's still as proud as ever. He won't accept the part nomatter what." Teresa was worried too.

Johnny pondered for a moment before saying, "I really can't mention this to him."

"Why? You're his manager. As long as you're the one that talks to him about the part, I believe thatLiam won't be able to refuse you. He'll definitely take the role. You'll also benefit from it. Do youreally want such a talented artist to fail under your management?"

"It's not my doing. It's my boss who wants to shut him out," Johnny said. "Miss Trevino, you shouldknow that if the company wants him out of the spotlight, there's nothing that I can do about it."

"I don't believe you. If it's you, I'm sure you can definitely do it. You just don't want to think of a wayto help him. Why won't you help him?" Teresa pleaded, still trying to persuade Johnny. "What will ittake for you to help?"

"Miss Trevino, let's discuss this matter further." Johnny seemed to be smiling.

Teresa pursed her lips and said in a low voice, "I can promise you anything. My only hope is thatyou don't shut him out. Give him a chance. As long as you do that, we can definitely negotiate."

Johnny smiled again, a meaningful smile. "Miss Trevino, it seems like you really do love himdeeply."

"Yes, I'm willing to do anything for him," Teresa replied. Her desperate attitude and tone made himsmile, and he said approvingly, "All right, Miss Trevino. Wait for my call." "Okay." Teresa hung up thephone and looked at the elevator. Liam had long gone. Then, she returned to her car.

When Liam returned to the apartment, he opened the door and saw that Maria was already awake. She was sitting on the sofa in a daze, waiting for him to come back.

When he walked through the door, Maria was yawning.

"Where did you go? It's still so early."

"I went out to buy something to eat," Liam said. "Why are you awake?"novelbin

"It got a little cold. When I opened my eyes, I noticed that you weren't around. I was a little worriedand couldn't go back to sleep, so I decided to get up. When I couldn't find you in the apartment, itwas even harder for me to go back to sleep." Maria rubbed her eyes. Her hair was messy and shehad a dazed look. Her expressions were particularly pure and unguarded.

Liam put down the bags he was carrying. "I thought you were sleeping soundly and wouldn't wakeup so soon, so I went out for a while. It doesn't matter. Let's go back to sleep after breakfast."

"What did you buy?" she asked.

"Just some simple breakfast." "Oh? Aren't you afraid that the calories will make you fat?" Marialooked at him in surprise when she saw the food. Although she was starving, she knew that Liamneeded to watch his figure.

Liam went to the kitchen to clean up and set the table. As he took out the food he had bought, hesaid, "I've burned a lot of energy these two days. I don't think I'll get fat."

At that, Maria's face flushed from embarrassment.

She walked toward him and stared into his handsome face. A hint of embarrassment flashed acrossher eyes. "How can you be sure that you have had enough exercise? I don't think that you can burnoff calories that easily."

With a mischievous glint in his eyes, Liam smiled and said, "Are you hinting at me to increase theintensity of my exercises?"

"What? No, I'm not." Maria immediately shook her head. "Don't talk nonsense."

Liam liked to tease her because every time he teased her, she would blush. And for some reason, that made him happy.

"Are you shy?" He continued to tease her. "Come on, let's eat first. We can exercise later."

"Liam, I'm being very serious. Why are you joking around?"

"I'm being serious too," Liam said. "Why? What did you think that I'm talking about?"

"Nothing! I didn't think about anything. You're doing this on purpose," she protested with a flushedface.

As they sat down to have breakfast, Liam said, "Maria, I just met Teresa downstairs. She actuallymoved into the same apartment building and is living in Unit 1. I thought it would be best to let youknow about it."
