Chapter 1534

"You promised me. If you can't keep your promise and force me to do things that I don't like, I won'tforgive you," she was afraid that Gary would actually go for it, so she muttered in a low voice.

Gary felt somewhat helpless as he took a deep breath.

He stopped moving. After some time, he held Celeste in his arms and sighed, "Alright, I did promiseyou. Don't worry. Without your permission, I won't do anything inappropriate, okay?"

Celeste looked at Gary's face hesitantly. She wanted to see through his eyes to know what wasactually on his mind.

His eyes were immensely dark. She could tell that he was trying hard to control himself.

Even though Celeste had some doubts, she still nodded after a few seconds.

"Let me go. You are not allowed to hug me without my permission," Celeste said seriously.

"I'm afraid I can't do that. I might not be able to resist the temptation to hug you, but I can promiseyou that I won't kiss you. Because if I start kissing you, I won't be able to stop myself from doingsomething worse." Gary didn't want to lie. He looked at Celeste and said seriously, "If you don'tbelieve me, you can look at my body."

Celeste was a little shocked. Gary hugged her tighter, and for a moment, she felt it.

The moment she felt it, Gary let her go.

When Celeste regained her freedom, she blushed. Her gaze subconsciously fell on Gary's pants. Itwas shockingly erect.

Celeste quickly looked away and retreated to the kitchen to boil a kettle of water. As the firecrackled and burned, Celeste's mood was greatly unstable. She dared not go out.

However, she knew that Gary could see her. His gaze had never left her.

Suddenly, Celeste felt that coming to his home was a wrong choice. If a man and a woman were leftalone in a house, something was bound to happen.

When the water boiled, Celeste made two cups of coffee and went into the study room with it.

Gary followed swiftly. Celeste sat down and turned on the iPad. She continued to read thedocuments that Gary had given her seriously. She was really as hardworking as a primary studentwho had just entered school.

Gary sat next to Celeste. Seeing her working so hard, his heart ached for her. He quietly looked ather with a smile.

Once Celeste started studying, she studied for an hour. The two of them did not talk much, unlessshe needed to ask him questions. Apart from that, they remained silent.novelbin

Not long after, Gary's phone rang.

It broke their moment of silence and disturbed Celeste.

Celeste looked up at Gary and said, "If you need to answer the phone, you can go upstairs. I canread the documents here. If you need me to leave for a while, I can go upstairs."

"You don't have to hide from this," Gary said bluntly, "there's nothing I can hide from you."

After that, he answered the phone.

A man speaking in a fluent foreign language came from the other side of the phone. He said, "Gary,he is firm on leaving the company. He will sell the results of his research to us too. He says he willcompensate accordingly. He even signed the form."

Gary smiled and said, "It seems he is quite perceptive."

"He knew that he was quite impulsive and asked me to tell you that he is sorry," The other partycontinued.

"I didn't take it to heart," Gary thought about it and said, "How about this, apart from the conditionswe have agreed on, give him another five million. Take it as compensation from us. Tell him that hewill have full authority in handling the matter."

"You want to give him another five million dollars?" There was a hint of surprise from the man'svoice. "Are you sure you want to do that?"

"I'm sure," Gary said in a deep voice, "Take it from my personal account. I'll give him five milliondollars. This can be considered a reward for his ability to adapt to the current situation."

"Okay, I will complete the tasks you have given me accordingly."

"Thank you very much," Gary replied in a deep voice.

Soon after, he hung up the phone.

Celeste had been watching him answer the phone all this time. He was so tall, and his handsomeface was full of confidence.

The tailored suit wrapping around his strong and sturdy body gave him a sense of power.

His dark, black hair and eyes were so full of

charm.

What he said just now made Celeste understand that he really did have the capability to handlethese matters. He even compensated that person with five million dollars. He could treat a personwho was about to betray him so generously.

Celeste marveled in her heart. She felt a warm sensation as well.

Right, this was that feeling of warmth.

He was really a man full of plans.

After hanging up, Gary looked up and saw Celeste staring at him with a smile. He was slightlysurprised. "Celeste, what's wrong?"

"Did you just give the man who threatened you five million dollars?"

"Yup." Gary nodded. "He did threaten me, but when he saw that I didn't agree, he retreated. That iswhy I chose to compensate him. So, how do you think I handled this?"

Celeste nodded and smiled at him. "I think you are a generous and considerate person. I think thatif that person is a man who knows what he should do, he will be grateful to you. He may even regretlosing such an excellent partner like you."

"Do you think he will regret falling out with me?"

Gary asked her with a smile.

Celeste nodded. "Maybe?"

Gary smiled and stared thoughtfully at Celeste. He said word by word, "I don't care about others'regrets. I only care about your regrets. Will you regret it if you lose me?"

Gary's question was too direct. It made Celeste feel embarrassed at once.

Gary looked at her and continued, "Celeste, can you tell me the truth?"

After thinking for a while, Celeste nodded heavily. "Maybe I will. But now, I don't know how to acceptyou, and I know that I can't do it. No matter how badly I regret it in the future, I won't regret breakingup with you now."

Gary had not expected her to answer him so directly.

He nodded, and there was a trace of regret and loneliness in his expression. Then, he said in adeep voice, "Celeste, if I lose you, I will feel very regretful. I don't want to lose you."

For when he lost Celeste, he even learned how to smoke.

He had a lot of regrets in his heart. It felt like he was going to die. His heart was filled with holes.

It hurt too much.

It felt so painful that he almost suffocated from it.

Therefore, he could not lose her.

He came to England just to find the woman he loved.

He wanted to win her heart once more.
