Chapter 1505

"What do you mean you're fine? How is this fine?" Gary couldn't bear to scold her, but he started toyell when he saw how stubborn she was.

Celeste shivered and looked very embarrassed.

Gary continued, "Your face is as pale as a ghost's. Is that fine?

"I'm sure you haven't had a meal since you've returned from Boston, yet you tell me that you'refine? How do you expect me to believe you?"

Celeste's heart tightened. She actually hadn't eaten anything.

She hadn't an appetite and couldn't eat anything. Both her heart and her body felt terrible.

"I might have believed you if you went back to the house in London and allowed the butler andcaretaker to look after you. But, instead, what do I see?

"I see you, just lying here in the dormitory with a deathly pale face, without anything to eat or drink. How can you tell me that you're fine? How can I believe you?"

Gary became more agitated as he spoke. He stared at her with a pair of bloodshot eyes that werefilled with intense pain.

He was full of regret and guilt. He was even more distressed seeing her in her current state.

He didn't want to yell at her, but she was abusing herself while saying that she was fine.

"You're torturing yourself." He stared painfully into Celeste's eyes. "Ask yourself truthfully whetherthis is self-abuse."

Celeste's body stiffened from his uproar. She stared blankly at him, unsure of what to say.

Perhaps he was right. She wasn't doing well.

She didn't want to quarrel either as she was way too tired.

Then, she said to Gary in a weak voice, "Alright, I admit that I'm not fine. I don't have much strength, but I really want to get better. Can you leave so that I feel some relief? I've always managed toendure it, but whenever I look at you, the pain doubles."

She didn't want to say that so harshly, but she'd be much too upset if she didn't.

Gary's brows knitted together and a look of intense agony flashed across his eyes.

He was stunned for a moment. The anger within his eyes extinguished instantly.

He could only stare at her. His bloodshot eyes looked as deep as the ocean.

He just looked at her silently.

She was nervous and thought that she might have gone too far, but she didn't know why she hadsaid that.

"Celeste, I can't leave," Gary tried to speak patiently, "You need me right now, more than ever. Icannot leave you. I need to take care of you."

"But with you here, I'll feel even worse. I'll be reminded of my baby." She suddenly peered out thewindow and tried her best to hold back her tears. She didn't want to cry because only the weak did.

Upon mentioning the baby, Gary's heart tightened up and felt even more upset.

He felt terrible, too.

"Celeste, prove to me that you'll be fine for at least a week. I'll leave once you're doing better," Garysaid in a deep voice. He chose to compromise.

"I really don't want to see you anymore," Celeste whispered with her undisguised pain.

Gary's brows furrowed as he tried his best to suppress his emotions. "Celeste, you know that I'venever had to beg anyone for anything. I'm begging you just this once to take care of your body. Please let me stay for just one week to take care of you, is that alright? "

He was begging her?novelbin

It was true that he had never begged before, but he did it this time.

Celeste knew that they would definitely end up quarreling if this continued, there was no need forthat. He had already agreed to the breakup, so she figured that it should be fine for him to insist shetake care of herself.

Celeste thought about it rationally and understood that this was out of Gary's responsibility as aman.

Celeste nodded and said, "Okay, a week it is. I hope you keep to your promise and leave after that.I really don't want to see you again."

Her tone was calm but painful. Every word that reached Gary's ears felt heavy, like lead.

Gary stiffened on the spot. His eyes were filled with pain as he looked at her.

When their eyes met, the two of them looked at each other, but there was nothing to talk about.

Love in this world was like this. Some were tired of each other when in the middle of their love affair, while others missed the other deeply after being separated.

Gary didn't understand the nature of his relationship with Celeste, but he felt extremely sad.

Celeste was right in front of him, but he couldn't get closer to her heart. He couldn't even hold her inhis arms.

He felt extremely depressed. His hands clenched into fists and he couldn't speak.

He could only restrain himself.

He calmed himself down and said softly, "Are you going to rest upstairs or stay down here? I'll makesome soup for you. You need to eat."

"I'll just rest here." Celeste didn't want to go upstairs.

It was because the bedroom upstairs was filled with memories of theor time together in the pastmonth.

They spent nearly every day in bed during that period.

As soon as she thought about it, a bevy of memories appeared in her head. She got pregnantbecause of those passionate nights.

Then she lost her child in a blink of an eye.

All of this felt like a dream.

Now she had woken up from that dream.

She couldn't bring herself to think about the baby. It hurt so much. She felt suffocated every timeshe

did.

Celeste leaned back on the sofa and felt extremely sad.

Gary was even more upset when he saw her again.

He didn't pressure her any further and simply stood up. He lowered his head to take a long look ather before turning around and headed into the kitchen to. Fortunately, everything he asked for wasthere.

The person Uncle Logan sent was very efficient.

He took out some ingredients and began to cook. He used the full extent of his cooking ability toprepare several dishes for her.

Unfortunately, his ability was limited, so he didn't do well. When he placed them on the table, hesaid to Celeste, "If it's not delicious, I can ask someone else to cook. Tell me if there's anything youwant to eat."

Celeste glanced at him and shook her head.

"These are very good. You've done very well. You don't need to order someone to cook as I don'thave much of an appetite anyway. These should be fine."

"You have to eat even if you don't have the appetite for it. You must nourish your body. There is nosign of recovery from your face. If you don't make up for it, you may not only further injure your bodybut you'll get anemia as well. You should know that there will be many more complications causedby anemia."

Celeste lowered her head and didn't say anything.

Gary's gaze fell on her. He sighed in his heart once again realizing she was keeping quiet.

Celeste hung her head and started eating. She didn't want to cause trouble for anyone.

She took a bite and almost choked. She quickly drank some soup.

Maybe it was because of her mood, she really didn't feel like eating. She felt nauseous whenevershe ate, but she could feel his eyes on her, so she tried hard to swallow.

She found it difficult to swallow but tried her best.

She was forcing herself to do so.

This only made Gary feel worse. He looked away and took a deep breath, but it was suffocating dueto his spiraling emotions.

He clenched his fists till his knuckles cracked, but he couldn't get angry.

"You should sit down and eat something too. You probably haven't eaten either." Celeste raised herhead to look at him when she heard his knuckles crack.

Gary had no choice but to sit down.

Celeste realized that Gary had no intention of moving his cutlery. She stopped and said softly,"Please eat. We are all grownups here. Hurry up and eat. We should both take care of ourselves."

"Are you still worried about me?" Gary felt as if his heart was suddenly reignited with hope.
