Chapter 1470

Leah let out a hearty laugh, she clearly didn't think her question was that upfront.

"No reason, I just want to know what type of girl has the heart of a gentle man like you."

Being put on the spot by her as she gazed at him, Ernest felt a little flustered. He calmly put theknife away, handed over the peeled peach in his hands, and retrieved the one Leah was holding.

In that moment, their fingers brushed against each other's unintentionally. The both of them put onan unaffected expression, despite stiffening at the touch.

"Well, tell me." Leah asked again.

"She's kind and beautiful," Ernest said calmly.

Leah's eyes widened. She said in a surprised tone, "Wow, Immorternest, you look like you'resomeone who sees beyond the surface. Who would've thought that you would judge a book by itscover?"

Ernest was stunned and asked in response, "It's just human nature. I'm just an ordinary person."

Leah stared blankly for a moment before she stretched her neck and laughed. She continuedgnawing away at the peaches. "Gentle and beautiful. Let me guess, let's unpack what makessomeone gentle. If she's gentle, she must be virtuous and ethical. Extending to the beautydepartment, she must be visually attractive. These standards seem pretty simple, but in actuality, these are quite high-end requirements."

Ernest gave it a thought and said frankly, "That's right."

Leah nodded. Facing Immorternest, she concluded that he really had high standards. "Then aquestion for you, Immorternest, since you're a passive guy unwilling to initiate a confession, if this

person you like was snatched away by someone else, what would you do?"

After finishing her sentence, Leah discerned a hint of solemnity in his smile. Even though he wasstill smiling, Leah had the ability to spot the subtle changes in the minute details of his expression.

It seemed like the graceful young man in front of her had deep feelings for the girl in his heart. Shemust've been truly be gentle and beautiful for him to feel that way.

Leah smiled and retracted her gaze. She didn't want to interrogate his feelings any further and onlysaid, "Immorternest, let me give you a word of advice. In the future, you should be more proactive,or else you'll miss out on a good girl."

"Then I hope there will come a time where your wish comes true." Ernest replied unexpectedly.

Leah was stunned and burst into laughter. "That's right, I made that wish just for your sake."

"Then I'd really have to thank you."

"You're welcome." Leah waved him off. She ate the peaches then she said, "Forget it, I'll eat three. If I eat too much I'm afraid I won't have space left for lunch."

"We still have one more." Ernest reminded her.

"The most important matter is the peach juice, if I eat too much I might need to use the toilet, andit's not easy for a girl to find a restroom in public." Leah suddenly stood up and looked into thedirection where Adrian had disappeared to. She muttered to herself, "Adrian said he was going tothe restroom, but this is the back route of the mountain. There's definitely no restroom here."

Ernest was surprised, and then he frowned slightly.

"So my guess is he found a random spot and swiftly finished his business." Leah raised her handand shielded her eyes to look farther. "Would you look at that, such is the convenience of being aboy. I'm a girl, so I can't solve the same problem as easily as you guys. I should probably eat oneless peach."

Ernest was completely shocked. He didn't expect for her to be able to freely talk about thoseproblems with him. Was she even conscious that she was a girl?

However, when he looked back again at Leah, she still appeared natural and unbothered, so muchso that it made him feel that he might have overthought a little.

Ernest shook his head and chuckled. He wiped the knife with tissue, folded it, and put it away.

"Hey Immorternest, do you want to make a bet with me?" Leah plopped the pit of the peach into thebag and took a piece of tissue from Ernest as she looked at him.

Ernest smiled again and said, "What kind of bet?"

"Let's bet on Adrian. Do you think he's taking a number one or number two?" Leah kept her eyes onthe direction where Adrian had run off to. She couldn't even spot his figure, and surmised that hewas probably squatting in some corner taking a number two.

"Huh?" There was a feeling of defeat as he felt like he wanted to slap his forehead. He smiledfondly at Leah and his gaze landed on her powerlessly. He was seemingly amazed and shocked atthe sheer unfiltered words of the girl.

"I'm not betting on it. How could you even come

up with these kinds of things?"

Leah squatted down and sat on a stone beside Ernest. She propped her chin with one hand andglanced at Ernest with a bright smile. "It's not like it's a bad thing to talk about, is it? Everyone needsto do it. I'll ask him about it later. My guess is that he's taking a number two considering the fact thathe's been gone for so long. Immorternest, are you betting on number one or number two?"

"I said I'm not betting." Ernest kept a smile and maintained his demeanor.

Leah blinked and said, "Immorternest, you should have some excitement in life. Just staying coolcan only get you so far. If the time is right, indulge in a little more naughty and fun things, and yourlife will be super interesting."

"Even if what you said makes sense, you can just keep these naughty and fun things to yourself."Ernest smiled disapprovingly.

"Immorternest, look at me." Leah pointed to her own face for Ernest to look at.

Ernest looked at her and asked, "What am I supposed to look at?"

"Am I pretty?" she asked.

Ernest was dumbfounded but hurriedly calmed himself down. He took a glance at her and fixed hisgaze on her warm smile. He looked away and said, "You'd be considered pretty."

"What about gentle?" Leah added. "Beautiful, but not gentle. Is that what you mean?"

Ernest hooked the foldable knife back onto his keychain and pocketed it. Then, he said, "Well, there's nothing really gentle about you. You're an incredibly lively girl, and you have a carefree andopen-minded personality. It's a good thing."

Leah blinked. She wasn't bothered by his words, and said in a neutral tone, "The implication here isthat I am not your type."

Ernest didn't know whether to laugh or cry at her quick- witted thinking. He looked at her with atender smile.

When Leah laughed, there was a dash of shallow dimples at the corner of her lips, and it made herlook bubbly and adorable.

What was even more adorable was her incandescent expression that possessed a vibrance thatmade it hard for people to look away, especially under the sunlight.

Ernest turned his gaze away and smiled, remaining silent.

Leah frowned slightly and let out a sigh. "In my opinion, gentle girls are hard to come by these days. We're in a generation that subverts expectations, so how can we find any timid person in this era? Ifthe girl is not a tigress, you're already in luck."

"You're no tigress either," Ernest said meekly. "Why are you so caught up on this?"

Leah withdrew her gaze and looked towards the mountains in the distance. She said, "It's not aboutme being caught up in it, I'm just wondering how I'm going to write out my female lead."

Ernest was surprised yet again. He found that he couldn't really keep up with Leah's pace.

Leah got up from the steps and stretched. "Hey Immorternest, why hasn't Adrian come back yet?Do you want to go find him?"

"There's no need," said Ernest, "he should be back soon."novelbin

Sure enough, Adrian came back within around three minutes.

"Hey, were you constipated?" Leah asked straightforwardly.

"Come again?" Adrian's eyes widened.

Ernest brought his hand to his forehead after seeing Adrian's mortified expression. He decided tostay silent and let the scene play out in front of him.

"You went to look for a restroom just now, didn't you? You were gone for so long, what else could ithave been other than constipation?" Leah even put on a caring act. "Don't worry, constipation canbe cured. Once it's cured, you could save a lot of time."

"Leah." Adrian gritted his teeth. "What nonsense are you talking about?"

Could the woman not think any better of him? He was trying to create an opportunity for her andErnest, and yet everything she was saying right then was just poking fun at him.

"Nonsense?" Leah glanced at Adrian and then laughed with a sly expression. "Well then, feel free tointerpret it as nonsense."

"Everything you've said has been nonsense," Adrian complained again. "Ernest, do you havenothing to say to this?"

Ernest shook his head and said seriously, "No, not really."

"Screw you guys, you two really have no conscience." If Adrian had known that Leah would end upsaying stuff like that, he wouldn't have left them alone, and he would have never created anopportunity forthem.

"What's wrong with the two of us? If you want to say something about me, you can do it, but don'tdrag Immorternest into this. Our dear Immorternest here isn't even a normal human being, doesn'tyour conscience hurt when you rope him in?" Leah said. "Just say whatever you want towards me.I'm thick-skinned, I can handle it."

"There's no doubt that you're thick-skinned." Adrian was speechless as he looked at the both ofthem. "Let's descend the mountain and find a place to eat."

"Okay, but were you taking a number one or number two just now?"

"One!" Adrian roared angrily.

"Aw, I guessed wrongly." Leah sagged her shoulders in disappointment and sighed disdainfully. "Ican't believe I actually made an incorrect assumption."

Anyhow, when they went down the mountain, Leah looked like she was in deep thought, and no onecould decipher what in the world she was thinking about.
