Chapter 1401

Celeste did not feel like talking to him at all because her body was still in pain. After the shower, shehad washed away all the medicine that she applied in the clinic. Now, she had to apply it again toease the pain and disinfect her wound.

She could avoid the embarrassment and apply the medicine herself when Gary was taking ashower.

Gary's movements were extremely swift and fast. He went into the bathroom, and washed upquickly.

When Celeste heard the sound of running water, she let out a sigh of relief.

She knew that he was already bathing.

Resisting the strong discomfort, Celeste got up and found the bag which had medicine in it. Sheopened it and found some medicine provided by the clinic as well as other antiseptics that Garybought from the convenience store.

Due to the pain, she opened them slowly one at a time. She sat on the edge of the bed and was justabout to start applying the medicine.

The bathroom door opened all of a sudden, and Gary's tall figure appeared at the door.

He stood far away and saw Celeste's actions. He knew what she was going to do next.

He could foresee that Celeste would try to apply medicine when he was busy washing up in thebathroom. He purposely took his shower quickly because he wanted to help her with it.

Celeste looked at him in surprise, and her eyes widened. For a moment, she forgot how to react.

Gary bathed like he was in the middle of a warzone. It only took him three minutes to finish washingup. In fact, he probably just rinsed himself with water and rushed out.

She was shocked and her movements stiffened.

Gary walked towards her.

Celeste came back to her senses and shouted in a hurry, "Don't come out yet. Stay in the bathroom.

I'll call you when I'm ready."

She didn't want to be seen by him at her worst. She felt really embarrassed.

She did not want to let him see her in such a mess.

Despite her words, Gary still walked over. He was only wearing a pair of boxers, exposing hischiseled figure in front of Celeste.

Celeste was dumbfounded and her entire face turned a bright shade of red.

She was troubled, embarrassed and angry at the same time. After a long time, she managed toshout impatiently, "I don't want you to be here, I need to treat my wounds, so please stay away."

"I'll do it for you," Gary ignored Celeste's words and continued to walk towards her.

"There's no need to."

Gary continued to ignore her and sat on the edge of the bed. He lowered his head and looked atCeleste, his eyes overflowing with seriousness, "You can't see it, so you can't apply it properly. It'salso very inconvenient for you."

"I don't need you to help me," Celeste growled in anger.

If it wasn't because of him, she wouldn't have to go through all these pain and torture in the firstplace.

She was hurt because of him.

Celeste was shrouded in embarrassment and continued to shout, "Get up, and get out of here!Please leave me alone, I don't need you to apply the medicine for me,"

"Celeste," Gary said patiently. His tone was gentle, but there was a hidden commanding tone thatrefused any rejection that she had, "You can't apply the medication on your own. Is there any part ofyour body that I haven't seen before? Why are you being so petty?"

"I'm being petty?" Celeste scoffed. She could feel her chest tighten.

Gary remained silent. His body language showed that he thought she was being petty.

Celeste started to question herself. Was she really being petty?

It was true that the both of them had already revealed themselves to each other. It was also no liethat they are familiar with each other.novelbin

However, this did not mean that she could accept his frivolous behaviour. Since they alreadydecided to end things with each other, they couldn't just do inappropriate things anymore.

It was already awkward enough for her to stay here.

Celeste couldn't believe that he still wanted to apply the medication for her. The thought of it wasalready making her feel embarrassed.

She tried to hide her feelings and pursed her lips bitterly, "Yes, I'm being petty. But since we'vealready decided that we should end things with each other, we should maintain an appropriate

distance. If you think that I'm being petty, so be it. I don't mind."

"You can't apply the cream on your own," Gary emphasized his statement once again. He pleadedonce more, "I promise I will only apply the medication, and I won't do anything else to you."

Was he still planning to do something else?

She glared at him intensely, her eyes full of doubt.

Seeing that Celeste did not trust him, Gary's heart felt like someone was stabbing him with a knife.

He wanted to say something else, but a phone rang, interrupting him.

It was Celeste's phone.

She was stunned and immediately covered herself with a blanket. She then picked up her phone toanswer it.

She looked down at the screen and realised that it was Janice's phone number.

She did not want to answer the phone but the phone continued to ring, so she had no choice but topick it up.

"Miss Simpson."

"Thank you, Celeste. A bellboy sent some sanitary pads to my room. I've used them," Janice's tonewas full of gratitude, "The ones that you bought suited me very well."

"A bellboy sent them?" Celeste was a little surprised. She immediately turned to look at Gary.

He looked at her too, his eyes still pitch black.

He did not give it to Janice personally, so he was behaving differently from usual. Was he guiltybecause he had hurt her today? Was that why he did not give Janice the sanitary pads personally?

The moment she glanced at Gary, Gary instantly understood her thoughts.

He felt his heart sinking. This girl was especially sensitive, so she probably already came to theconclusion that he was a jerk.

He let out a heavy sigh, lowered his eyes, and reached for the medicine.

Celeste saw it, and clenched her phone subconsciously.

"Yes, didn't you ask the bellboy to send it?" Janice smiled, "Why do you sound like you don't knowabout it?"

Celeste was about to say something when Gary suddenly lifted the blanket, causing his hand tocome in contact with her leg.

"Ah!" Celeste let out a soft cry.

Gary exerted a little more force with his wide hands and he did not intend to let go.

Celeste had no choice but to glare at him.

It was obvious that he wasn't going anywhere. In fact, he was already screwing open the medicinebottle with his other hand.

"Celeste, are you okay?" Janice was shocked as she heard her over the line, "Why did you screamall of a sudden?"

Celeste's heart was a bundle of nerves. As Gary started to apply the medication, it felt like an out-of-body experience.

Her breathing became a little heavier, so she quickly answered Janice, "It was nothing. Iaccidentally knocked onto something, and it hurt." The moment she said it hurt, Gary's armstiffened. He immediately softened his grip, and his actions became as gentle as a feather. He wasafraid that he would hurt Celeste once more.

He did not care that Celeste was in a middle of a phone call. He continued to apply the antiseptic,and every single move he made was incredibly gentle.

With Janice on the line, Celeste felt like she was the third wheel destroying and wrecking Gary andJanice's relationship.

At the same time, an indescribable feeling arose in her chest. It made her feel extremely awkwardand embarrassed, but there was nothing that she could do.

"Be careful," Janice said, "Sorry I bothered you. You can go ahead and do what you need to do. I'lllook for your brother as he did not pick up my phone. I don't know what's wrong with him, and I'm alittle worried,"

Celeste was stunned and said in a hurry, "My brother went out."

Gary was equally stunned when he heard her statement. His hands stopped moving.

Celeste could feel it.

She looked at him.

Gary also looked at Celeste. After a while, he continued to apply the antiseptic, as if he did not hearher at all. Whatever happened just now seemed like nothing but an illusion.

"Where did he go?"

"I don't know," Celeste felt that it would be very troublesome to explain to Janice why she was inGary's room. She had no choice but to lie, "I just met him just now, but I don't know where he went."

Celeste hung up the phone, and she could feel her body stiffen.

She felt really bad that she had to lie.

She felt so guilty that her whole body tensed up as if she had done something wrong towardsJanice.

It made her feel embarrassed and ashamed. Despite that, she felt a thrilling sense of excitementsomewhere deep down in her heart.

Gary was still helping her with the antiseptic. She felt embarrassed and froze.

"Relax," Gary noticed that her entire body had stiffened right after the phone call. He wouldn't beable to apply the medication properly if her body was rigid.

Celeste ignored his words and did not cooperate at all.

"I can't move my hand if you're being like this," Gary looked up at Celeste. His gaze wasaffectionate and endearing.

Hearing those words, Celeste couldn't help but blush.

She felt a wave of emotions in her heart.

Just then, Gary's phone rang, and Celeste froze again.

He grabbed the phone with his other hand and glanced at it. He said to Celeste, "It's that womanagain."

Celeste scrunched her eyebrows. Why was he being rude?

"I'll turn on the speaker," He then said.

Celeste became self-conscious immediately and replied softly, "You can take the call, I'll apply thecream myself,"

"Don't move, I'm answering the phone," As soon as Gary finished speaking, he picked up the calland turned on the speakerphone function, allowing Celeste to listen to their conversation.

However, this situation made it impossible for Celeste to move. She was afraid that Janice wouldhear her if she made any noise.

It felt like the two of them were always sneaking around, and they couldn't be together with eachother openly.

She could only lie on the bed motionlessly. She did not dare to move a single muscle, and her lipswere pursed tightly to prevent herself from making any noises.
