Chapter 1399

Celeste was hurt and shed a little bit of blood, so it was natural that she needed some sanitarypads.

Just now at the clinic, the doctor gave her a piece to use for the time being. She came to Edinburghquite urgently, so she did not bring any with her and planned to buy them after she arrived here. However, she did not expect that she would get hurt like this before her menstruation came.

She felt really awkward when the doctor had to examine her.

Currently, Celeste felt very uncomfortable. Every single step she took was painful and unbearable. She was in extreme discomfort, and the piercing pain felt like she was being constantly cut by aknife.

The hurt and grievance she felt gushed into her heart, making her feel even more upset.

When the doctor examined her, she immediately knew that Celeste's boyfriend had been too roughwith her. Right there and then, the doctor had advised Celeste to break up.

From the doctor's point of view, this boyfriend of hers was a jerk. If a man was not gentle to awoman, it meant that he did not love her.

Indeed.

Celeste also felt that Gary did not love her anymore. He only wanted to possess her and did nothave any other feelings for her.

However, there were some moments where she felt like he truly cherished and cared for her.

Perhaps she was longing for warmth, so even a little bit of attention would make her feel very warmand satisfied.

However, this time, she was hurt really badly.

She told the doctor that they had already broken up for good after this.

The doctor wanted to make a police report, but she stopped her.

This was a matter between the two of them. Celeste could break up with him, but she would not letthe police take him away.

If that happened, how could she bring herself to face Uncle Jones and Aunt Grace? They were sokind to her, so she couldn't allow their son to be detained by the police. She might turn him into acriminal, who will be labelled as an abuser for the rest of his life. She did not want to ruin hisreputation nor his life.

Hence, Celeste only told the doctor that it was their first time doing it. Hence, Gary had no idea howto go about things.

After being stunned for some time, the doctor eventually chose to respect her decision.

"I'll go buy it. Wait for me in the car," Gary said gently, "Don't go anywhere."

Well, where else could she go?

Celeste could not move on her own. She did not want to risk her safety to look for a cab. Hence, she agreed, "I won't leave. Please go and buy it."

What she needed was a moment of quiet and rest.

Gary was not sure if she was lying as he stared at her intently. He noticed that her face was stillextremely pale, and the corners of her eyes were still damp because of the tears she shed justmoments ago. She looked very weak and sickly.

He was the culprit behind this. For the first time, he realised that he had been behaving like a beast. He blamed himself and felt really sorry for her.

Yet, he couldn't help it. When Celeste was lying down in front of him, he couldn't control himself.

He couldn't stand the fact that he did not have a place in her heart.

This was his way of doing things. Even if he was being unreasonable, he wanted Celeste to himselfno matter what.

Subconsciously, Celeste belonged to him. She would belong to him no matter what for the rest ofher life.

Gary could not let her go.

He drove Celeste to find a sundry shop.

When he arrived at a rather good convenience store, he parked the car and went in to buy Celestesome sanitary pads.

After entering, the shopkeeper asked Gary, "Sir, may I know what you are looking for?"

He said, "Sanitary pads,"

Then the shopkeeper continued to ask him, "Sir, what type of pads do you need? Is it for day use, orovernight use? What size does your girlfriend normally use?"

Gary paused for a moment after hearing all the questions.

He looked at the shopkeeper with a dazed look on his face and said, "Sorry, let me ask her about it.""Okay," The shopkeeper smiled at him in a friendly way, seemingly complimenting him for buyingsanitary pads for his girlfriend.

Gary felt even more embarrassed. He walked out and went to the side of the car.

Celeste's eyes flashed with disappointment when she saw that Gary had returned empty- handed.True, Gary was always so full of himself. How could he possibly suppress his pride to buy sanitarypads for her?

If he returned empty-handed, she would feel really disappointed.

Enduring the pain, Celeste opened the car door and wanted to get out.

Gary quickly took a step forward. Before she managed to get out of the car, he looked at her andasked, "Why do you want to leave? Do you need to use the toilet?"

"I'll go and buy them myself," Celeste muttered and completely ignored Gary. She planned to goand buy them herself.

"I will buy them," Gary quickly stopped her, "Don't get out of the car."

Celeste paused for a while and she did not look at him. She answered, "Forget it. If you don't feellike buying them, I can buy them myself."

"It's not that I don't want to buy them," Gary said hurriedly, "I'm not sure what size you need, so Icame back to ask you about it."

Celeste was stunned, a complex feeling seizing her heart.

She felt a little bit sorry as she thought too poorly of him after knowing the truth. She had assumedthat he did not want to buy it for her.

"28 cm for night use, 22 cm for day use," Celeste gave him a specific size.

"Alright," Gary nodded before reminding her, "Don't get out of the car. Wait for me here. I'll go andbuy it right now."

Just as he was about to close the car door, his phone rang.

He was stunned and did not close the door. He took out the phone, glanced at it, and saw that itwas from Janice.

He hung up the phone immediately and did not pick up her call.

After a while, Celeste's phone rang.

Celeste looked at it and noticed that it was an unknown number, so she picked it up.

"Hello," Celeste spoke in English because she was not sure who was calling her.

Gary did not leave immediately. He watched as she answered the call.

"Miss Simpson, is that you?" Celeste was surprised to receive a call from Janice.

"I'm sorry, Celeste, I've encountered a messy situation," Janice's voice was filled with worry andawkwardness. She said embarrassedly, "I gave Gary a call, but he didn't answer my call, so I hadno choice but to call you."

Celeste looked up at Gary subconsciously.

He did not rush to leave. Instead, he lowered his head and gazed at Celeste.

When their eyes met, Celeste noticed the worry in his eyes. She felt her heart tighten and replied,"Miss Simpson, you can tell me about it. What happened?"

As she spoke, she switched the call to speakerphone mode. She wanted Gary to hear theconversation too.

Looking at his anxious face, he must be worried about Janice. Celeste thought that he did notanswer Janice's call in front of her just now because he was embarrassed.

Gary did not go to the convenience store. Instead, he waited for Celeste to pick up the phone.Celeste assumed that he was worried she'd say something inappropriate to Janice.

That was why she wanted Gary to listen to her clearly.

"Look, my period came unexpectedly, and I didn't bring any sanitary pads with me. I've got somestains on my clothes too. I wanted your brother to buy some for me, but he is still sulky and didn'tpick up my call. Sorry to trouble you, but could you buy some for me?"

Janice was on her period?

Celeste was shocked. The first person Janice sought for when she had her period was Gary. Thismeant that her relationship with Gary was extraordinarily intimate.

Since she couldn't reach him, Celeste was her second option.

With that, Celeste replied, "Okay, I'll help you buy it. Please wait for a moment. I might need at leastanother half an hour before I can get to you."novelbin

"Okay," Janice thanked her immediately, "Thank you, Celeste. I'll send my room number to you soyou can bring it to me later."

"You're welcome," After saying that, Celeste hung up the phone.

After that, she looked up at Gary and said, "Did you hear that? Buy a few more for Miss Simpsontoo. I think she probably uses about the same size as me. If you don't know her size, then just buythem according to my measurements. If you know what she wants, you can buy them according toher size."

After saying that, Celeste turned over and avoided eye contact.

She did not want to look at Gary.

Gary furrowed his brows and said with a bitter tone, "I don't know what size she's using. I don't needto know either."

After saying that, he closed the door and went back to the convenience store.

A few minutes later, he bought a huge bag of sanitary pads and some antiseptic solution forCeleste. It would be better to apply some antiseptic to the wounds to speed up her recovery.

When he came back, he was carrying a large bag of sanitary pads and a small bag of antisepticfluid.

Celeste leaned on the back of the seat and closed her eyes. Her face looked paler.

She felt extremely weary.

The door opened and Gary placed the bags quietly in the back seat.

Celeste saw that everything was mixed together. Thankfully, there was an extra plastic bag inside. She organised the stuff and separated them into two bags.

She found the antiseptic solution and didn't really ask about it, but he might have bought it for her.Gary had injured her, so he bought some antiseptics because he did not want to leave any

problematic side effects.

On the way back, the atmosphere in the car was dense and depressing.

Nobody spoke and the car kept moving forward. After riding for a few minutes, Gary glanced atCeleste through the rearview mirror.

Celeste had lowered her gaze and she refused to look in front. Gary could not read her emotions, but deep down, he knew that Celeste was feeling uncomfortable.

Her delicate brows were wrinkled.

Finally, he couldn't help himself and started to ask questions, "Celeste, is there anything else thatyou need to buy?"
