Chapter 1380

Maria looked at Liam with surprise, her eyes full of doubt as she gasped, "Why haven't you left yet?"

"Is there no one else in your house?" Liam asked directly.

Maria was stunned, "Did you hear?"

"Yes." Liam didn't try to cover it up. "What will you do if there's no one home?"

He felt that since he had sent her back, he had to make sure that she was safe.

"Me?" Maria pursed her lips, "I'm fine. I can go home. My parents will be back in a few days."

Liam didn't know what to do, so he suddenly blurted out, "Why don't you go to my place?"

When he said it, he was also very surprised.

It was unbelievable that he would ask a girl to go home with him like this. She was just a mindlessfan who had a thing for him.

Maria was also shocked. She looked at Liam in disbelief.

She didn't expect that Liam would say that. For a moment, she was a little confused. Her mind wasin a mess as she looked at the man in front of her.

After saying that, Liam felt a little embarrassed.

He explained again, "It's not safe for you to be alone."

Maria heard what he said and came to her senses. She shook her head and rejected him."That'sok, I won't go with you."

"Why not?"

Maria looked at him and explained, "I am afraid that I can't control myself. I will take advantage ofyou."

Liam opened his mouth but couldn't speak.

Maria said, "I have a maid at home. Don't worry about me."

It was only then that it dawned on Liam. His face turned red.

At that moment, a woman ran quickly out of the villa. She saw Maria from a distance and shouted,"Miss, are you home?"

As soon as Maria turned around, she saw her maid, Agnes Young. She immediately waved andsaid, "Agnes, it's me."

Seeing as her maid was coming, Liam felt extremely embarrassed. He turned his head and got intothe car, feeling as though he wanted to run away.

Agnes quickly ran over and sized Maria up. She exclaimed, "Miss, it's really you. I didn't believe itwas you when Mr. Lowe called me. Why are you so thin?"

"Agnes, I'm not thin," Maria gave Agnes a hug and smiled, "Help me carry this luggage. I'll saygoodbye to my friend and come in right away."

Agnes glanced at the car and was a little surprised. She exclaimed, "Since it's your friend, why don'tyou invite them in for some tea?"

"That's alright," Maria shook her head at Agnes, "He may not be willing to do so."

"Fine," Agnes dragged her suitcase and marched forward, waiting for Maria in front.

Maria walked to the door of the driver's seat. She looked at the slightly blushing Liam sitting insideand said, "Mr. Robinson."

It was only then that Liam looked at Maria and said, "You can go back. Now that you have someonewith you, I'm relieved."

Maria smiled and tilted her head to look at him.

"What I meant is that I have safely sent you home, so I have honoured my word to Ernest," He wasabsolutely serious.

Maria still smiled brightly at him, "No matter what, thank you."

Complicated emotions flashed through Liam's eyes.

He was about to start the car.

Then, Maria spoke again, "Liam."

Startled, Liam turned to look at her.

She said, "I just wanted to say that the relationship between you and Celeste is impossible. If youcan get over it, it'll be great. If you can't, you'll just be giving yourself a hard time."

Liam's eyes became sharp. He muttered, "If you don't want to tell me who her boyfriend is, don't talkto me about anything else."

"It's my cousin, Gary," Maria finally revealed. She looked at Liam and asked, "Do you think you're amatch for him? You should know well what kind of person he is."

Sure enough, after hearing that, Liam's face instantly became cold and stern.

Maria cast a deep look at him and turned away.

She did not look back and left quickly.

When Liam came back to his senses, he found that he was the only one there. He drove away. Onthe way back, he couldn't help but call Gary.

It was getting dark. It was probably early in the morning in London.

He wasn't sure if Gary would answer the call, but

he still couldn't help himself.

Unexpectedly, the phone was answered.

"Liam, you must have something important to call me at this time, right?" Gary's voice came fromthe other end of the line. No one could hear his emotions from his tone.

Liam took a deep breath and looked at the jewellery box in his hand. The necklace was bought inBoston.

At that time, Gary was present.

Back then, Liam had said that this necklace was for the girl he liked. He never thought that the girlhe liked would actually be Gary's girlfriend.

Such a coincidence gave Liam an indescribable feeling. It spread in his heart and made him feelbitter.

"I just picked Ernest and your cousin up and sent them home. I'm just curious: why aren't you andCeleste back?"

Liam spoke in a hesitant tone. In the end, he didn't ask Gary directly. He wanted to beat around thebush to get information about the matter.

However, Gary was smart. He instantly understood what was going on and thought of the necklace. He was sure that Ernest would give it back to him immediately.

When he heard that Liam had picked up Ernest and Maria, he also understood why Ernest wouldask Liam to pick them up.

It seemed that Ernest wanted Maria and Liam to get together.

"Oh, I'm enjoying some private time with Celeste. I didn't want to go back and disrupt my alone timewith her," Gary didn't conceal anything and told Liam bluntly, "I forgot to tell you, Liam. Celeste is mygirlfriend."

At that moment, Liam's heart was about to shatter.

"Really?" He suddenly lowered his voice and said, "So the person you like is Celeste.Congratulations."

"Thank you for your blessing, Liam. I have already been with Celeste since a long time ago," Garylaughed, "Is there anything else you need to say on the phone?"

"Oh no," Liam said quickly, "I just wanted to ask why you didn't come back. I don't want to botheryou anymore."

It didn't take long for him to hang up.

Gary held his phone as the corners of his lips curled up. A faint smile appeared in his eyes, seemingly sharp and unfriendly.

"Who called?" When Celeste returned from the bathroom, she saw Gary holding the phone. He wassmiling like a cunning fox.

"Oh, nothing. It's just a crank call," Gary replied.

Celeste, however, did not believe him. She deduced, "You're smiling so slyly. It doesn't look like acrank call. If it was, wouldn't you yell at them?"

Gary raised his eyebrows and held Celeste in his arms. He hugged her tightly and replied with asmirk, "How do you know me so well?"

"It's the truth." Celeste laughed, "You seem to enjoy someone's misfortune."

"Oh, really?" Gary refused to admit it.

"Forget it," Celeste didn't force him to speak at all and said, "I'm going to rest. I'm too tired. I have togo to school tomorrow."

"Where are you going? Stay with me at home," Gary wrapped his arms around her and buried hisface in her neck.

She had just taken a bath and she smelled really good.

Gary took a deep breath and just laid there lazily.

Celeste immediately patted him, laughing, "Stop fooling around. You've been tormenting me for somany days. Can't you let me rest?"

"I've given you time to rest every day," Gary said innocently, "You shouldn't be too lazy. You needproper exercise to be healthy."

"Too much exercise won't make me healthy anyhow," Celeste was too embarrassed to argue withhim.

"That's why I gave you some time to rest. A combination of work, rest and proper exercise is themost wonderful way to live life, isn't it?" Gary sounded righteously.

Reluctantly, Celeste took a deep breath and sighed, "I don't have the stamina."

"But I do."

It was nice to see them bicker like this.

Celeste's voice was very gentle, "You have to take care of your body before you can be healthy."

"Don't refuse me. You know what I mean. Even if you refuse, I'll show you what I'm capable of."

Celeste, of course, knew all about it. She had experienced it for too many times, so she naturallyknew everything.

She quickly changed the topic, "I wonder if Ernest and Maria have arrived home. Did they call you?"novelbin

"They've arrived," Gary said. "They sent me a message."

"Why didn't I receive it?" Celeste was a little surprised. She took out her phone to check, only torealize that there was a message from Maria. She immediately said, "Oh, they've arrived. Mariamessaged me too."
