Chapter 1328

The layout of the villa was impressive. This time round, the room Heinz selected for Ernest was onthe top floor, while Maria and Celeste's rooms were on the second floor.

Anyone could tell that Heinz had done it on purpose.

After all, a boy and a girl should live separately.

That night, after taking care of everything, Grace told Gary that they had moved and that thecustody of Celeste had been obtained by the Jones family. It was up to Celeste to change her familyname.

Gary was also surprised. He said directly to his mother, "Why did Heinz act so fast this time? Did hereally plan on moving to a new place beforehand?"

"Your father had told me about it before, but I didn't expect it to be done so soon," Grace said, "Bythe way, Gary, what family name do you think is most suitable for Celeste?"

Gary chuckled, "Just use mine."

Grace was shocked and muttered, "Well, son, is it really good for you to be so straightforward?"

"Then just ask her to follow yours," Gary said.

"It's still the same," Grace knew what her son was thinking and sighed, "You should talk to Celestepersonally. I will just turn a blind eye to whatever you're doing. However, why don't you change yoursurname to Jones along with Celeste? If that's the case, your father will be happy."

"I'm not here to please him," Gary shot down, "Why do I have to care about what he likes?"

"You still refuse to call him dad?" Grace looked at her son helplessly.

Gary looked right into the camera and shook his head.

Grace had no choice but to ask, "If Celeste decided to change her name to Jones, what will youdo?"

Gary was not swayed by his mother. He looked at her and smiled, "Mom, what does this have to dowith me?"novelbin

"Well, Celeste has said that she will change her family name to Jones," Grace hinted, "You'd betterkeep the Smith surname if that's the case."

"Mom, I can easily tell that you are lying. Why are you trying to lie to me?" Gary didn't believe hismother's words at all.

Grace was rendered speechless again.

"Fine, you can do as you like. Don't say that I didn't warn you," After saying this, Grace refused toengage in the conversation with her son and said, "That's all. I need to go now."

"You're done so quickly?" Gary didn't seem to really want to hang up.

"There's nothing more I'd like to say," Grace said.

"Alright then."

The phone was hung up in the end.

After that, Grace went to Celeste's new room. Celeste was a fast mover. Maybe she was able tosettle in quickly as she had been living alone all this while.

Grace was both very surprised and very satisfied.

"Aunt Smith, please have a seat," As soon as Celeste turned around and saw Grace at the door, she hurriedly ushered her in.

Grace walked in with a card in her hand and stuffed it into Celeste's hand.

"Celeste, this is for you," Grace smiled.

"Aunt Smith, I don't want this," Celeste was startled and quickly denied, "I can find a part-time job."

"You don't need to," Grace said to her seriously, "Your current task is to learn. The more knowledgeyou obtain, the more valuable you will be in the future. If you really feel guilty, you can return it to mein the future. Is that okay?"

Celeste was very touched, but she still didn't want to take the card.

"Celeste, I don't have only two requests," Grace said, "Before the age of 20, you are not allowed toparticipate in any social activities. After you turn 20, you should go ahead and take part in as manysocial activities as you can. For now, apart from your schooling arrangements, you should try yourbest to spend your time on your studies."

"Aunt Smith, I promise to study hard," Celeste promised.

"You should also take care of yourself aside from studying," Grace advised, "So, take this card. Youget equal amounts of living expenses as Ernest and Gary. I'll transfer money to your accountregularly, and I'll send the password to you through text message."

Just then, the phone rang.

After taking a look at Celeste's phone on the table, it happened to be Gary calling.

Grace smiled lightly.

Celeste grew even shyer, and she felt a little embarrassed.

This was because Grace had seen the caller.

"Pick up the phone," Grace chuckled and put the card in her hand before she turned and left.

"Thank you, Aunt Smith," Celeste had never felt such warmth, which was so considerate andmeticulous.

"You're welcome. Silly girl, go pick up your call," Grace carefully closed the door for her.

Celeste answered the phone. It was a video-call.

When she answered it, she was shocked to see Gary's gloomy-looking face.

"You haven't recovered from the cold?" Celeste was very worried, "Why do you look so pale?"

Gary relaxed a little when he saw that she had taken the initiative to care about him. He asked,"Have you moved?"

"Aunt Smith told you?" Celeste nodded and said, "We've moved to this place now. Take a look at myroom."

As she spoke, she moved her phone so that Gary could see how her new room looked like.

Gary took a sweeping glance at the room, "It's alright. The new room looks more comfortable thanthe previous one. There's also a cabinet more suitable for girls."

"You saw that too?" Celeste was very surprised and giggled, "Uncle Jones' secretary had it orderedspecially for me and Maria. It was delivered here today." "Great," Gary replied.

"By the way, is your cough getting better? Have you consulted a doctor?" Celeste asked again.

"Yeah, I went to see a doctor and took some medicine," Gary replied, "I feel much better after takingsome medicine."

"Does that mean you haven't been taking any medicine before that?"

Since the truth was exposed, Gary confessed, "I stopped for a few days."

When Celeste heard him, she froze slightly and her gaze looked grimmer. She blamed herself forthis and muttered, "Are you angry? You didn't take the medicine on purpose, did you?"

Gary avoided her gaze and changed the topic, "Oh yeah, did you sign the contract?"

"I signed it," As soon as she asked Gary, he changed the subject.

However, when she thought of the 30 million dollars, Celeste felt very uncomfortable.

"Why do you still look sad after signing it?"

"Uncle Jones paid 30 million dollars as compensation for my aunt," Celeste said softly.

Gary was taken aback and frowned, "Don't tell me that you're sad because of the 30 million dollars.""30 million is a big sum of money," This was indeed the reason why Celeste was in a dilemma. 30million dollars wasn't only a form of pressure, it was also a way of Heinz and Grace's supporttowards her.

When she was at the most difficult time of her life, she was given a second chance.

"That's just a number," Gary looked at her and was worried that she would feel depressed becauseof the money. He asked, "Are you not confident in your future?"

Celeste shook her head and sighed, "No, I just thought of these things and felt warm and fuzzy onthe inside. Maybe it's because I'm always overthinking things that I'm always so awkward."

Gary was once again taken aback. He looked at her in disbelief and said, "Do you only realize nowthat you're awkward sometimes?"
