Chapter 1303

"No," Heinz almost sprung up, "Why should I be her guardian?"

"Of course, it's not a must for you to be her guardian," Grace looked at her husband and said,"Cindy is still in love with you, isn't she? She intended to buy a house next door, but Celeste foundout about it and was exasperated. Thus, she ended up having a fight with Cindy and they cut off allties."

"Next door?" Heinz was stupefied and immediately shook his head in disgust, "Is she here to grossme out?"

"She won't be able to do so to you or to me," Grace said patiently, "I don't think it's a big deal if shebuys a house next door."

"Did you injure your head?" Heinz stared at his wife incredulously, "She is still in love with me andyou are not mad about it? Do you still even love me?"

Grace ignored Heinz's pettiness in front of her son.

Ernest had accidentally become the receiving end of his parent's flirting. Worse, they didn't evenknow that they were flirting.

Ernest looked at his parents helplessly. He knew that his father was refusing to help.

However, things would be easily solved if his mother agreed.

After all, his father would listen to his mother, no matter what.

"Say, do you still love me or not?" Heinz persisted and demanded his wife to answer his childishquestion.

Grace looked at him helplessly and sighed, "Heinz, be more mature."

"Why am I not mature?"

"Trust me, even if Cindy lives next door, she would only be disgusted by herself."

"No!" Heinz shook his head and pouted, "She is going to disgust me."

"Is she going to have a great time seeing us flirting so frequently?" Grace tried to reason, "In myopinion, she has the freedom to buy whatever house she chooses."

"She can't buy it. I'm going to buy all the surrounding houses immediately so that there are noneighbors close to us."

"Childish," Grace was at a loss for what to do, "This isn't the main point."

"The point is to let Celeste go to school, isn't it?" Heinz looked at his wife's posture. It seemed likehe was going to be punished if he was not willing to help her.

"Yes," Grace nodded, "You finally got it."

"I'm fine with helping," Heinz shrugged, "Just ask Alex to deal with it."

Grace looked at his son helplessly. The father and son duo really looked for Alex for everything.

"Have you ever thought that it was bad for Celeste to break off all ties with Cindy."

Heinz glanced at his wife.

Grace also stared at him with a serious look in her eyes.

Heinz was a little helpless by his wife's gaze. He subconsciously asked, "Do you really want me tobe involved in this?"

"I'll go with you. Is this okay?" Grace pulled out her trump card.

Heinz immediately nodded and said, "Of course, if you are with me, I will be able to prove myinnocence."

"Even so, I'm worried that Cindy will fly into a rage out of humiliation."

"What are you afraid of?" Heinz muttered, "If she really tries to pull something off, I'm definitelygoing to ruin her reputation."

Grace was speechless. This man was really hopeless.

"So you agree?"

Heinz nodded, "Will you spare me if I don't agree?" "Good that you know," Grace stared at him andsmiled. She looked at her son and said, "Ernest, you can be rest assured since your father is goingto deal with everything."

"Thank you, Dad. Thank you, Mom," Ernest quickly thanked his parents.

Heinz immediately stared at Ernest's face sharply before asking, "Why are you so eager to helpher?"

Ernest was dumbfounded and said in a hurry, "We are schoolmates."

"You have so many schoolmates. If all of them need your help, will you help them as well?"

"Of course," Ernest nodded, "As long as I can be of help, I won't just stand aside and do nothing."

"You really can't stand by and watch," Heinz looked at his son and then turned to look at Grace, complimenting, "Just like your mother."

Grace looked at him and Ernest and quickly cleared her throat, "Let's go and pick up Celeste now. It's better to bring her back and have her stay here."

"Right now?" Ernest was stunned.

"Yes, right now," Grace nodded seriously, "Your father and I will go pick her up."

"I refuse to go," Heinz immediately shook his head and frowned, "Let her stay in the hotel. What'sthe matter with that?"

He felt uneasy the moment he thought of that child who was adopted by Cindy.

After all, he hated Cindy very much.novelbin

"Are you going to let me go out all by myself?" Grace looked at her husband disdainfully.

Heinz was taken aback. His face darkened as he protested silently.

Grace kept treating other people's affairs as her responsibility. As her husband, did she even knowthat he was going to be envious?

No matter how important the matter was, could it be more important than her husband's feelings? Itwas infuriating to go and fetch Celeste back at such an hours.

However, Heinz was worried about his wife going out all by herself. Seeing how his wife was lookingat him, he sighed helplessly, "Cindy had better not play any tricks, or I'll kill her."

He was so frustrated that he blamed everything on Cindy. If that woman still had indecent thoughtsabout him, he was sure to teach her a lesson.

Grace heard his words and sighed. It seemed that men didn't know how to take care of a woman'sfeelings when they disliked them.

That night, they went to the hotel and met up with Alex first.

"Hello President Jones, Mrs. Jones and Young Master Ernest," Alex immediately looked at Ernestwhen he saw that all three of them were here.

Ernest said, "Uncle Logan, I've already told my parents about it. I think this is something seriousand my mother has said that we should bring her back home with us."

"The girl hasn't left her room at all," Alex quickly explained, "I've been asking people to keep an eyeon her in fear that she would sneak away."

"Good job," Grace nodded approvingly, "Alex, I'll go by myself. Heinz and Ernest are going to stayhere together with you."

Alex nodded immediately and told Grace the room Celeste was in.

After a short while, Grace arrived in front of Celeste's room. She knocked on the door.

Celeste had already taken a shower and was not in the mood to sleep. She was scrolling throughvarious legal documents on her laptop.

Just then, there was a knock on the door, and Celeste got up nervously. When she opened thedoor, she found that it was Grace.

Celeste was slightly surprised to see her and asked, "Mrs. Smith?"

Grace smiled gently at the child. Looking at the surprised look on Celeste's face, she laughed, "It'sme. Can I come in?"

"Sure, please come in," Celeste quickly moved out of the way, allowing Grace to enter.

Grace then closed the door behind her.

Celeste asked in surprise, "Mrs. Smith, why are you here?"

"Celeste, Ernest was in a dilemma for a long time, but he still told me everything. I am worried aboutyou, so I rushed over to bring you back home," Grace didn't hide anything. She was afraid that ifCeleste found out, she would be angry with Ernest again. Hence, she took the initiative to explainthings properly on behalf of her son.

Celeste's heart thumped when she heard the word "home". She almost burst into tears.

She secretly took a deep breath. Such words were her saving grace for someone like her, who wasfacing dark times.

It warmed her heart and lit a candle of hope for her.

When Grace noticed that Celeste was silent, she turned to look at her. She was stunned to find theyoung girl's eyes red- rimmed. Then, she smiled and held Celeste's hand.

Celeste was puzzled and pursed her lips. When she looked up, she couldn't hold back her tearsanymore.

"Mrs. Smith," It only took one more word for Celeste to burst into tears.

Seeing how aggrieved Celeste was, Grace knew that she was still a child after all.

She reached out to help Celeste wipe away her tears.

Celeste quickly stopped herself from crying. She took a deep breath and tried to maintain hercomposure.

Grace took a piece of tissue and wiped away Celeste's tears.

"I'm sorry," Celeste was embarrassed.

"Silly child!" Grace said very gently, "You have encountered difficulties. Why don't you go home? What's going to happen to you if you encounter bad people here?"

When Celeste thought about it now, she felt a wave of fear. Back then, all she had was her self-esteem and pride.

Grace did not urge Celeste to answer her. After all, she knew how important pride was to ateenager.

How could she think about everything thoroughly when her self-esteem was being shaken?

"Well, pack up and let's go back. You can come live with us."

"I can't," Celeste shook her head and refused, "I can't cause you any more trouble."

She was afraid that Cindy would cause trouble for them after she lived with them.

"Are you worried that your aunt will be a nuisance to us?" Grace could tell Celeste's concerns at aglance.

Celeste didn't say anything, but her expression made it very obvious.

Grace chuckled and comforted the young girl, "Don't worry, your aunt is no match for me."

Celeste was dumbfounded.

Grace only laughed, "She's not Heinz's match either. We already dealt with her once in the past.Don't worry."
