Chapter 1267

Celeste was stunned and asked, "Don't you have a phone?"

She did not really want to lend it to him.

"I don't have his phone number. I didn't save it in my phone, so it's better for me to use your phone,"Ernest explained.

Celeste saw his hand reach over. His hand was very wide, and the lines on the palm of his handwere clear. Ernest didn't seem to retract his hand and just stretched it out in front of her.

She hesitated for a moment, but soon handed the phone to him.

Ernest took the phone and clicked a few times to scroll through her call history.

Celeste immediately noticed what he was doing with just one glance. Over the past few days, Garyhad called her several times and it was listed clearly.

She pursed her lips, worried that Ernest would be jealous because of this.

Gary was his older brother, but he didn't call Ernest. Instead, he called Celeste several times overthe week. Wouldn't that make Ernest sadder?

"Ernest, it's better not to call him. Let's find Maria first. She should be on the plane," Celeste urged.

"Don't worry," Ernest didn't look anxious at all. Instead, he was leisurely holding her mobile phoneand had already dialed a number, "Maria hasn't arrived yet. I'm just going to say a few words to mybrother and wait for Maria at the same time."

Seeing that the call had been made, Celeste was a little nervous, but she could only watch Ernest.

Ernest's eyes were calm, and he looked at Celeste with a sly expression. The phone started ringing.

Gary put down the phone and didn't feel sleepy. He went to get a cup of coffee. When the phonerang, he went back and found that it was from Celeste.

He was slightly taken aback, feeling a bit surprised. His eyes were filled with joy. Did she miss him?

She called back again in the short time before she boarded. It seemed that his efforts were not invain.

Gary was incredibly delighted, so he couldn't hide his glee when he answered the phone. His voicewas a little bit excited but very gentle at the same time, "Celeste, what's wrong?"

On the other side, Ernest was also stunned when he heard Gary's voice. He then smiled, "Gary, it'sme, Ernest."

Upon hearing Ernest's voice, Gary's brow furrowed tightly in an instant. He asked sharply, "Ernest? You're using Celeste's phone?"

"Yes," Ernest laughed, "Gary, I'm using Celeste's phone to call you. I'm just worried that if I call you,you won't answer the phone."

"If you didn't use your phone, how would you know I wouldn't answer it?" Gary threw the questionback and said with a chuckle, "You haven't boarded the plane yet?"novelbin

"Nope," Ernest also stayed calm and collected. The two brothers started engaging in conversationthrough Celeste's phone. Ernest said, "Gary, I have to thank you for persuading Maria to studyabroad. In this way, Celeste, Maria, and I can take care of each other in England."

Gary understood what he meant as soon as he heard Ernest's words.

It seemed that Ernest was able to surmise that it was because of him that Maria had chosen to goto England.

"You're welcome," Gary replied, "Maria went to England to chase after her dreams. It's really good ifyou two could take care of each other. Ernest, you were so lonely when you were younger. You'regoing to be an adult soon. You'll be glad to have a clever girl like Maria to accompany you there."

"Brother, I'm sorry to have troubled you," Ernest chuckled, "You're alone in the United States, andit's no fun like that."

"Don't I still have Lowell?" Gary shot back, "You don't have to worry about me. Lowell is living withme now, so I don't feel lonely at all."

How could he forget Lowell?

Ernest sighed secretly, "That's good. I really forgot about Lowell."

"It's pretty cool," Gary's voice was unhurried as he commented, "Ernest, return Celeste her phone. In the future, use your own phone to call me if you miss me. Using a girl's phone will be impolite, and it'll be easy for you to take advantage of her privacy."

"Celeste doesn't mind," Retaliating with a smile, Ernest retaliated, "Gary, I know how to be polite.Don't worry. Celeste is not an outsider. Since she will be going to England with me, we're going tohave a great time together."

After saying this, Ernest looked at Celeste with a playful expression on his face.

Meanwhile, Celeste widened her eyes wide in shock.

However, Ernest pretended not to see it.

He had lost this round.

Gary had Maria's help, so he lost rather reluctantly.

In other words, his own brother had successfully set him up.

Thus, it was natural that he wanted his dear brother, Gary, to feel uncomfortable throughout thewhole flight.

He believed that Gary was going to be annoyed with the way he phrased it.

On the other hand, Gary was not angry. Instead, he laughed and said coldly, "Agreed, you do havea deep bond. Celeste places great importance on friendship."

Ernest raised his eyebrows. Gary had changed the meaning with just one sentence.

Friendship?

At this time, Celeste noticed Maria coming from the security checkpoint. She kept lookingbackwards at her parents.

Celeste hurriedly shouted, "Maria, hurry up! We're running late!"

Maria quickly ran a few more steps and stood in front of them.

Celeste then said to Ernest, "Ernest, hurry up and end the call. It's time for us to board the plane."

Looking at Celeste's nervous expression, Ernest felt amused and said, "Gary, Celeste just remindedme that it's time for us to board the plane."

"I heard her," Gary replied coolly.

With that, Ernest hung up the phone and handed it to Celeste.

Maria looked at the strange scene and pointed at Ernest, gasping, "Ernest, did you call Gary usingCeleste's phone?"

"Do you have a problem with that?" Ernest asked.

Maria frowned, "I'm just a little confused."

At that moment, Ernest said goodbye to his parents outside and said to Maria and Celeste, "Sayyour goodbyes, well be leaving soon."

"Wait. Uncle Logan hasn't come yet," Maria said.

"It's okay, he'll come in and look for us."

The three of them then said goodbye to the adults and got ready to board the plane.

A little while later, Alex also chased after them.

After getting on the plane and sitting down, Maria and Celeste sat next to each other and whisperedto her, "Did you know what Ernest meant by using your phone to call Gary?"

Celeste licked her lips and nodded.

"If that's the case, you should guard it better," Maria's tone sounded a little resentful. "He saw thecall records, didn't he?"

Celeste didn't say anything. That was for sure.

Ernest was so smart, and his vision was 20/20. Of course, he saw it.

Maria sighed, "You're still too naive. Let me tell you, I've dealt with Gary and Ernest since I wasyoung. I know their characters very well. If the two of them want to play silly games with someone, there is only one way to deal with them."

"What is it?"

"You have to be thick-skinned," Maria pointed at her own face and suggested, "Pretend you don'tknow anything, play dumb and muddle through everything. Got it?"

Celeste was stunned. After thinking for a while, she asked with a helpless tone, "That won't reallybe necessary, right?"

"Well, you can sleep on it and give it some thought," Maria sat back lazily on her seat and pouted,"I'm so angry with Gary. It's been more than ten hours, and I'm still mad."

"What's wrong?" Celeste immediately became worried, "Did he say something awful to hurt you?"

"Yeah," Maria nodded heavily and frowned, "Forget it, I will just turn a blind eye to him. If I hadn'tneeded his help to go to England to see my idol, I would have just ignored him."

Let alone help him.

She was doing this for her idol. After all, that idol was someone that Gary was familiar with.
