Chapter 1259

Gary wasn't going to just sit around and wait. Hence, he grabbed the phone and called her back.

On the other end of the phone, Celeste held onto her mobile phone tightly, her heart beating like adrum.

She felt very guilty as if she had done something wrong.

Just then, the phone suddenly rang. Looking at the caller ID, it was Gary. She almost dropped herphone on the floor.

When she picked up the phone from the ground, her hands were still shaking.

The phone was still ringing.

Celeste plucked up her courage and picked it up.

On the other side of the phone came Gary's low voice. His voice was slightly hoarse as he asked,"Celeste, are you listening?"

Celeste nodded, but then she realized that it was a phone call. Gary couldn't see it, so she couldonly reply with a yes.

On the other side, Gary let out a secret sigh of

relief when he heard her voice.

"You called me. Why did you just hang up without saying anything?"

Upon hearing the question, Celeste was stunned. A hint of panic flashed in her eyes and sheblurted out, "There was no signal."

She wanted to say that it was automatically cut off.

However, it was a flimsy lie.

The moment the words left her mouth, Gary's slightly mischievous laughter rang out from the otherend, "Really? No signal and it hung up automatically?"

Celeste's face was burning. She felt as if her face was red-hot.

However, she still grunted to agree.

As a result, Gary's laughter grew even louder.

Celeste's face blushed even greater.

The violent action when he kissed her that day also came to her mind.

For a moment, she did not know what to say.

After Gary laughed, he finally asked, "Why are you calling me?"

Celeste was stunned by his question.

Why did she call him?

Was he asking deliberately, although he knew the answer?

Celeste froze for a moment and said, "Can't I call you without any reason?"

Gary held the phone in one hand and clenched his fist with the other. A long while later, he cougheda little to hide his emotions.

"Maria said you missed me," Celeste said directly.

It was another sudden sentence that caught Gary off guard.

Judging by his understanding of her, Celeste wouldn't be able to express all these.

However, she managed to say it directly.

Would he admit it?

Of course not.

"Don't listen to Maria's nonsense. There's nothing good that can come from that girl's mouth," Garygrinned sheepishly, trying to cover it up.

Celeste was a little disappointed and asked again, "Really? You really didn't miss me at all?" Shewas uncertain if that was the case.

If he didn't miss her, what was the point of her taking the initiative to call him?

She had plucked up her courage, but it turned out that she was just reading too much into thesituation.

"Celeste," Gary's mind spun quickly. He immediately asked, "You called because you missed me,didn't you?"

His question immediately caught Celeste's full attention successfully.

He thought that Celeste would deny it, but he didn't expect her to admit it directly.

"Yes, I miss you. I think if I didn't call you, I would have gone to England already. Who knows whatwill happen the next time we contact each other again?" She said frankly, and her voice was lowand deliberate.

Gary's heart tightened, "You've made up your plan for when to leave?"

"Yes," Celeste was certain, "I'm sure. I'll be leaving soon."

"Together with Ernest?"

"And Maria," Celeste added, "Ernest and I have already chosen our school. Meanwhile, Maria can'tmake a decision until she goes there. She wants to go through a transition period."

"True, she decided on the spur of the moment. She certainly needs a transition period." Garycontinued.

"Have you settled down in the United States?"

Celeste asked again.

Gary was startled for a moment before he said, "I have. I'm quite flexible."

"Then do you miss me?" Celeste turned back to the question. It seemed that she was quiteadamant on making him answer the question and wanted to get to the bottom of it.

Gary held his breath and sighed, "What do you think?"

"Please give me a firm answer. I don't want you to question me with a rhetorical tone because Ireally want to know."

Perhaps from the moment he kissed her, the relationship between them had become completelydifferent.

Although there was no promise between them, the kiss was as if it was a silent agreement.

Celeste felt that something had changed between them.

Yet, Gary remained silent.

"You miss me, don't you?" Celeste asked again, "You wanted Maria to tell me so I could call you."

Ultimately, Gary grunted in agreement.

"Is the answer to the previous question, or the latter?" Celeste seemed to be extremely persistent.

Gary felt a little helpless. He sighed, "Celeste, are you a fool?" "Probably," Celeste whispered,"Although I refused to admit it and I never thought too much of it, now that you've left for so long,I've thought a lot about it. Maybe I'm really too dumb."

Gary paused and said, "You're regretting not coming with me to the United States?"

This question was like a sharp knife that pierced Celeste's heart in an instant.

She took a deep breath and looked up at the ceiling. Her eyes were a little teary, but she managedto hold them back.

She then admitted, "A little."

However, it seemed that it was already too late.

When Celeste finally realized it, she was truly overwhelmed with sadness.

Gary frowned. After a moment of silence, he said, "Take responsibility for your choice, Celeste. Nexttime, think clearly before making a decision. Otherwise, you will always be immersed in regret."

"What about you?" Celeste asked.

Gary was stunned, "What are you referring to?"

"Do you regret that you didn't manage to convince Ernest and I to go to the United States?"

"I don't," Gary was frank. His tone was firm and did not hesitate at all.

Celeste suddenly found that the mindset of a girl was completely different from that of a boy.

Gary didn't care about what she cared about.

"You are very rational," She said after a while, "More rational than me."

"Celeste," Gary was worried that she might have misunderstood him, so he quickly tried to saysomething. However, Celeste merely chuckled and did not explain anything.

Celeste knew that she didn't have Gary's rationality.

His choice was always rational and compromise-free. For the sake of the friendship between thethree of them, she tried to convince Ernest, and then Gary.

However, it was clear that the two brothers had their own opinions, and they had plans for theirfuture.

However, she changed her original intentions because of their decisions.

For the first time, she found that there was a difference between a girl and a boy.

This newfound revelation was rather shocking and painful.

With the mobile phone in her hands, she instantly became sullen. The only feeling she had was

helplessness and resignation.novelbin

"It's late over there. Go to sleep. I shouldn't disturb you at this time," She whispered, "I'll hang upnow."

"Celeste!" Gary called out anxiously, "Are you angry?"
