Chapter 1248

"Silly girl, you're going to regret your decision," Maria looked at Celeste pitifully and gave her a paton the shoulder, "Listen to me, you should head to the United States with Gary."

Celeste was startled. After a while, she shook her head, Tve promised Ernest that I will be going toEngland with him."

"Sigh," Maria felt speechless, "You're really going to regret this."

"No," Celeste thought for a while before responding, "I understand the pros and cons of mydecision, so I don't plan to change my mind anymore. Maria, thanks for trying to convince me, butI'm firm on my decision to study in England."

Maria was annoyed. After thinking for a while, she said, "I doubt that you have thought this through. In fact, it seems to me that you might have made a rash decision out of anger. Were you triggeredby Gary?"

"No," Celeste shook her head, "Really."

"Then aren't you afraid of losing contact with Gary now that you're going to England while he headsto the United States?" Maria asked while gazing into Celeste's eyes.

Celeste looked at Maria. Suddenly, there was a flash of light in her eyes, and she looked elsewhereinstead of staring back at Maria.

"You don't even dare to look at me, which means you are feeling afraid," Maria pointed out herobservations.

Celeste immediately met her sharp gaze and said, "No, I've really promised Ernest already. Maria, you have no idea how bad I'm feeling right now."

"I understand," Maria said, "You tried to threaten Gary, but you realized that he doesn't take the bait. So, you ended up in a tight spot which consequently made you change your mind, didn't it?"

Celeste shook her head and said, "I didn't. I've never wanted to threaten anyone. I merely thoughtthat it would be best for the three of us to study together in the United States, but Gary didn't agreewith it."

"Of course, he wouldn't. If I were him, I wouldn't want to have such a strong competitor with meeither. That would be too dangerous." Maria muttered.

Celeste frowned, "How could brothers be competitors?"

"Celeste," Maria wanted to continue, but the bell rang, so she instantly said, "I have to go for my testnow, but think through what we talked about just now. I still think you should go to the United Stateswith Gary, do you hear me?"

After saying that, Maria ran away quickly.

Celeste remained at the end of the corridor as she tried to process this entire dilemma.

She was in no hurry to return to the classroom.

Just then, Ernest's voice sounded from behind.

"Celeste!"

Celeste turned her head back quickly and saw who it was, "Ernest?"novelbin

"Let's enter the classroom slightly later by 10 minutes," Ernest said, "Let me borrow 10 minutes ofyour time."

"Sure, go ahead," Celeste immediately nodded and looked at Ernest seriously.

Seeing that she was so well-behaved, Ernest also smiled and said, "Celeste, Gary is leaving theday after tomorrow."

Celeste pursed her lips and nodded, "Maria has shared that with me already. I'm quite shocked; Iwasn't expecting him to make his decision so quickly."

Upon hearing this, Ernest raised his eyebrows and glanced at Celeste for a while before asking, "Sowhat are your plans?"

Celeste realized Ernest was worried that she would change her mind again, so she smiledimmediately and said, "Ernest, are you also worried that I will change my mind?"

"Also?"

"Maria lectured me just now," Celeste explained awkwardly, "She said that I change my mind tooeasily."

"I see," Ernest responded softly, and there was a meaningful tinge of a smile beneath his eyes,"That might be true, considering how studying abroad isn't something to be taken lightly."

Seeing the smile on Ernest's face, Celeste felt guilty and said, "I'm changing my mind anymore. I'mgoing to England."

Ernest stared into her eyes silently for a while, then pursed his lips, "Celeste, it's still not too late. Ithink you should think twice. This really isn't child's play. I'm worried you will regret your choice."

Celeste shook her head, "There's no need for that; I'm firm with my decision. I'm going to England.Besides, two universities have also sent me their offer.

Ernest didn't rush to answer her; he merely stared at her with some hidden emotions beneath his

eyes.

"Really, I've made up my mind already," Celeste reiterated her point, as if she was worried that hedidn't believe what she said.

"Actually, Celeste," Ernest looked at her and said, "I think you're more suited to study in the UnitedStates."

"Why?" Celeste widened her eyes.

Ernest smiled, not wanting to explain himself.

Celeste urged him, "What are you trying to say, Ernest?"

"Celeste, that's something you need to ask yourself," Ernest sounded gentle and nonchalant, but ithad a heart-piercing charm to it. "Are you truly willing to go to England? If there's even a small tingeof unwillingness, you shouldn't force yourself."

Celeste was taken aback; she nodded.

"Come on, let's go back to class now," Ernest looked at his watch, "We only took five minutes.Doesn't matter; we're late anyway."

The two of them entered the classroom together. When they were at the door, they heard theirhomeroom teacher announce, "Students, your classmate, Gary, is leaving soon. Today will be hislast class with us, so let's bid him farewell."

Celeste's heart tightened.

Ernest glanced at Celeste calmly and noticed that she was pursing her lips. He remained silentabout it and entered the classroom.

Celeste followed behind him.

Gary stood up and prepared to walk onto the stage.

He walked in face to face with Ernest, who had just entered the class.

Both of them were handsome men who were 1.87 meters tall. While they both looked strikinglyattractive, they had different temperaments and personalities.

People who looked at Gary found him really domineering and cold, whereas people whoapproached Ernest found him warm and friendly.

The two brothers exchanged glances. Gary was expressionless while Ernest smiled.

He brushed past Ernest and noticed Celeste behind him. She was shorter than Gary by nearly 20centimeters, which created the impression that she was tiny and innocent.

Celeste merely glanced at Gary.

His eyes were deep and dark, which made people feel wary of staring into them.

As if there were no one, Gary walked past Celeste toward the stage. Up there, he smiled and said,"Hey everyone, I initially planned to leave immediately, but I felt that it would be impolite of me not tobid everyone farewell. Considering how I haven't really been all that polite all this while, I thought Ishould do this at least once."

Below the stage, everyone applauded due to how amused they felt upon hearing what he said.

Celeste sat at her seat and looked at Gary blankly. A poetic quote arose in her mind.

Young we were, schoolmates.

He swept his gaze across the room and landed on Celeste. As soon as their eyes met, Celestedared not look at him anymore.

However, he did not shift this gaze; he continued to look in her direction and said, "All good thingscome to an end. It's a pity that I won't be moving on to the next chapter of my life along with youguys. I hope that we will be able to see each other again in the future."
