Chapter 1069

"Is there really nothing wrong?" Heinz questioned once more. He seemed to be unable to believe in the good news, so he had toconfirm it again, sounding a little anxious as he did.

"I'm sure there's nothing wrong." the doctor reaffirmed with a smile and continued, "Mr. Jones, | understand how you're feeling aswell as your worries. Rest assured that everything is good."

"It's just... I'm still concerned about what the obstetrician from before had said." Heinz didn't want to hide his worries.

"That was a misjudgement from our end, Mr. Jones. You have to understand that the general principle of doctors is to expect theworst case scenario. It is our responsibility to inform you of those scenarios," the doctor explained, "| hope you can understand.”

"Yes, of course." Heinz nodded and looked at Grace once again. Just like him, she looked elated by the news.

"In that case, We'll hang back and wait for the next report," Heinz told the doctor.

“All right," the doctor answered.

The doctor left soon after to give them some privacy.

Only the couple was left in the room. Heinz held Grace's hand excitedly and said, "Grace, did we get good out of misfortune?"Grace nodded and replied, "I feel like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders. | can finally calm down now."

"I'm sure everything will be fine." Heinz said confidently, "My sons are brave little soldiers after all. They're sure to survive allsorts of harms and risks."

Grace was stunned. She looked at Heinz in surprise and asked, "Didn't we agree that they were girls before?”

Heinz paused, with a teasing smile on his face, he replied, "Right, that goes the same for my daughters as well. They're going tobe brave too."novelbin

"You're really conceited, aren't you?" Grace replied fondly and continued, "Right then. I'll get some sleep in the meantime. I'mexhausted. | haven't been sleeping well these few days."

“Alright, you rest up then. You can finally sleep in peace now." Heinz helped Grace lie down and covered her with the quilt. It was a long time before he could finally calm down.At the police station.

Just as Jensen came back from an investigation, he was greeted with the sight of Zayne and Quinn. He knew who Quinn was.He had investigated her for Grace before after all. Surprised to see her, he went to ask one of his subordinates about thesituation.

"What's going on? What are they doing here?" Jensen asked."They're here to turn themselves in," his subordinate reported in a low voice.“What did they do?" Jensen asked in shock. "Turn themselves in? Why does it sound so serious?"

"That woman just admitted that she gave fruits with some harmful pesticide residue to her pregnant stepchild as a gift, and thestepchild in question got hospitalised as a consequence. It is still unknown whether the unborn babies inside the woman's bellywill be fine or not," his subordinate stated.

Jensen's heart dropped as he heard, "Is that so?"

He looked at the person in front of him in astonishment and then turned to look in Quinn's direction.

At this moment, Quinn remained expressionless but her eyes looked red and puffy. She looked haggard. What had happened?Did she hurt Grace intentionally?

Why didn't he receive any calls about this? Did something really happen to Grace?

Jensen hurriedly called Heinz to clarify the situation.

"What's going on? What happened to Grace?" Jensen asked nervously once the call was picked up.

“How did you know?" Heinz replied, startled.

"| just saw Quinn in the police station. After | asked my subordinate, | gathered that something must have happened to you guys,am | right?" Jensen said.

"Yes," Heinz said, "Grace was hospitalized from ingesting the poisoned fruits. She spent half the day on the toilet and couldn'tstop vomiting. But she's feeling much better now though."

“How about the babies?" Jensen asked, "Are they alright?”"The situation doesn't look too bad at the moment,” Heinz said. "You don't have to worry too much.""Why would Quinn turn herself in just like that? What's the point?"Jensen asked.

“Well, | think you'd better ask her yourself. | don't know either. | have no idea what's going through that woman's mind.Regardless, | never want to interact with her ever again," Heinz said.

“Alright, I'll ask her personally later. This whole situation seems like a huge mess," Jensen replied and asked once more, "Areyou sure Grace is okay now?"

"Yeah, she's feeling much better," Heinz answered, "Well, the medical report shows that she's physically alright and theindicators show that her condition has improved. The doctor said that the impact on the fetuses is next to none, but we dare notto be too optimistic about it."

"| see," Jensen nodded and continued to speak, "Alright, | will inform Alice and get her to visit her sister."

"Don't," Heinz stopped him promptly, "Grace is exhausted. She just fell asleep, and | don't want her to be disturbed at this time. It's best if you guys don't come over. Besides, hasn't Alice been quite busy recently? She already has enough to deal with in thecompany.”

"If she finds out that | didn't inform her about such a serious incident, she'll get mad at me. Ever since she started working at thecompany, her temper has been really short. | feel like she has taken my place as the head of the house now, | don't even have asay in most things these days. The speed at which she speaks has also changed drastically, it's so fast now that | can't keep upmost of the time," Jensen complained, "I finally understand why so many people dislike strong, independent women now. They'rereally something to behold."

"Come on, don't be so ungrateful. You were the one who insisted on becoming a policeman. Just because you're paid peanuts atyour job doesn't mean other people have to as well. If you dislike independent women, then you should maybe look into otherprofessions that pay better," Heinz said.

“Hey, whose side are you on?" Jensen retorted, "I thought we were mates!"

"We are, but we're also in-laws. But as | am most intimate with my wife, Grace, her sister will of course precede you in terms ofcloseness. So of course I'll be on her sister's side rather than yours," Heinz answered.

"Heinz, how could you? Don't you feel ashamed?" Jensen snorted unhappily.

"Enough of that. Come on, stopdilly-dallying. Go check out what’going on with YinnyBeinz fein edHim Bérhrhber to settle it properly.Otherwise, Alice might just continueto terrorise you when you get backhome." Please read the originalcontent at NovelDrama.Org.

Jensen's mouth gaped open at that.

He really had his work cut out for him, hadn't he?

It was his fate; therefore, he had to accept it.

Jensen hurriedly went over to ask about Quinn's situation.

Because it was a complicated situation, the policeman in charge took Quinn to the interrogation room to proceed with theinvestigation in further detail.

When Jensen made his way to them, he was met with Zayne.

The young man stood stony- faced outside the interrogation room as he waited for his mother's interrogation to be over.Jensen looked at him for a short while and asked, "Are you Zayne?"

Zayne turned his head to look at the person speaking. A glimmer flashed across his eyes.

Jensen was able to capture the minute change in the young man before him.

He looked at Zayne and asked with a faint smile, "Do you know me?"

Zayne nodded, "You're Heinz's mate, right? Grace's brother-in-law."

"Yes, you're right," Jensen shruggedhis shoulders and did a double t
