Chapter 1006

“Aunty, why don't you tell me a story?" Maria switched on her "chatterbox" mode after they were done washing up.

Surprisingly, this little girl was actually very talkative and not as introverted as she initially thought her to be. In fact, she couldalmost rival Little Gary in eloquence.

This little girl was really eloquent.

"What kind of stories would you like to hear?" Grace remained patient and gentle as she looked at Maria lovingly, "You can thinkof a story that you would like to hear, but keep in mind that I'm not very well-versed with stories."

She tried her best to think of some stories that she knew, just to end up with very few stories in mind.

She had been busy dealing with life all these years, so she never really told Little Gary any stories. The little guy never requestedstories from her, either.

Therefore, she wasn't a qualified mother to Little Gary in this aspect, as she could not tell him stories whenever he wanted. She felt like there was so much more that she could have done for her child.

As for now, Grace was still a little embarrassed upon hearing Maria's request.

"| may not be very good with storytelling. Are you still okay with it?"

“Of course." Maria was not one with high expectations. "It's okay, as long as you keep talking. Aunty, please go ahead and tellme every story that you know one by one."

“All of them?" Grace was appalled as she stared at her dumbfounded, "Tell you all of them one by one?"

"Yeah, tell me all of them one by one." Maria nodded seriously. "Please tell me all the stories you know as | really love listening tothem. You're so sweet, Aunty, I'm sure you will be really good at storytelling.

She was totally showering Grace with praises. She was also very good at flattering other people. However, Grace wailed internally as she thought of how exhausting it would be to tell so many stories at one go.

She was beginning to suspect that this child requested this on purpose. It was as if she was trying to get people who grew closeto her to accompany her.novelbin

Could it be because she was too lonely and bored in the past, and that was why she really longed for a companion now?

If that was the case, Grace had no choice but to compromise.

“Aunty, I'm ready, please quickly start telling me those stories!" The little girl started rushing her.

Grace glanced at Maria and found that she was already lying down happily and comfortably on the bed.

Left with no other choice, Grace thought of a story regarding a crow that wanted to drink water, and started telling it to Maria. She tried her best to tell the story expressively.

Maria listened attentively while playing with her fingers, then started clapping the moment Grace was done with the story.“Aunty, you're so good at storytelling. | really enjoyed it. Can you tell me one more story?"

She had no choice but to tell another story regarding a wolf and seven little sheep, which was followed by the story of the littlered riding hood. After telling three stories at one go, she felt that her throat became very sore.

“Aunty, please tell me one more story. Another one, please. | really want to listen to more stories from you! You're so good atstorytelling!"

Grace asked with suspicion, "Maria, am | really that good at telling stories? Can | rest for a short while?"

“Aunty, are you very tired already?" Maria looked at her in a pitiful manner. The way her eyes blinked was as if she wouldimmediately tear up the moment Grace admitted that she was tired.

Grace was startled for a while before saying "It's fine. I'll tell you one more story, but that will be the last story for tonight. Afterthat, you'll have to go to sleep immediately."

Maria was stunned for a while and contemplated it hesitantly. Then, she nodded, "I guess that's fine?"

Therefore, Grace started telling another story. Once she was done, the little girl clapped excitedly and said, "Aunty, please tellme one more story! Just one more story, please! | promise that this will be the last story for the night."

Haha.

Grace started chuckling softly.

This child did not keep her promise, but she wasn't angry about it. She merely smiled, saying nothing.

Maria felt a little guilty after being glanced at by Grace. She asked, "Aunty, are you exhausted already?"

Grace nodded and said, "I already told you four stories in a row, but the key here is that it's already late. You still have to wake up

early tomorrow morning, so go to sleep now. You also promised me you will start sleeping after listening to the last story just

now.She sounded firm about it, which made Maria become quiet, so she answered sadly, "Okay, I'll go to sleep now."Hence, this little girl turned her back towards Grace.

Just a short while later, just when Grace thought she might have fallen asleep, she suddenly noticed that Maria's shoulders wereshaking.

She was actually sobbing!Uh, there she was, crying again.Grace also realized that this little girl was totally made of water.

She was very concerned. After all, this little girl was away from her mommy in an unfamiliar place. She imagined how difficult itmust be for her. She couldn't help but wonder if she should have been kinder to her and tried to fulfill more of her requests.

As such, Grace gently patted her shoulder and asked, "Maria, what's wrong? Why are you crying? Is it because you are missingyour mommy?"

The little girl cried even harder now. She turned back and snuggled up against Grace, "Aunty, | really miss my mommy a lot. That's why | kept asking you for stories just now. | was really afraid that | would be homesick, so | kept requesting stories fromyou. | understand that you're already very tired. I'm sorry."

"It doesn't matter." Grace felt that her heart could melt at any time. "I shouldn't have been so stern with you. Alright, you don'thave to cry about it. Would you like me to tell you another story?"

At this moment, someone opened the door.

Heinz came in and witnessed how his wife struggled to soothe the little girl, which pained his heart deeply.“Let me tell her some stories instead, Grace, you can go and rest now while | get her ready for bed."“Wahh..."

It was unclear if it was because she heard Heinz's voice, but anyhow, Maria started crying harder.

She kept trying to snuggle closer into Grace's arms, as if she was trying to hide in a shelter.

Heinz had already walked to the bedside as he looked down at her.

The little girl didn't dare to look up at him the whole time.

"Little Gary." Maria immediately stopped crying upon hearing his voice, but she still did not lift up her head.Grace could easily sense that Maria wasn't as tense as compared to when Heinz just entered the room.

It seemed like she was probably afraid of Heinz, but at the same time, she wanted to play with Little Gary as well.In fact, she struggled to get up as soon as Little Gary was there.

He rolled his eyes and answered her rather coldly.

Heinz looked at Little Gary whofollowed him over. "It looks li eHey\does care far hiscmistarhy after alll.TANI Fe came here to deal withthe little demon as well," he thoughtto himself. Please read the originalcontent at NovelDrama.Org.

"The both of you can leave now," Little Gary said to Grace and Heinz.Heinz said, "I'll send your mommy back to rest first. Then, I'll come back and make sure all of you fall asleep as well."Maria immediately tensed up again and did not dare to say a thing.

After thinking for a while, Grace said,
