Chapter 360

“Fenna-‘Cameron called out but Fenna walked away without looking back. Cameron was left to eat alone. He couldn’t help butlet out a long sigh.

Mila returned to Hoffis Manor with a small box in her hand.At the sight of Mila, Loretta hurriedly put down her utensils and retreated to her room.Mila had already spotted Loretta eating at the dining table. She quickly ran over and blocked Loretta’s path.

Loretta acted aloof to hide her embarrassment. She turned away and held her head high as if to indicate she wouldn't apologize. She seemed like a child who knew her mistake but refused to acknowledge it.

“Grandma, why are you always avoiding me?” Mila asked with a smile.

Loretta turned away without a word. Mila walked up to Loretta, who turned her back again. Mila faced her again and handed herthe box. “I bought you the pastries you love.”

“| don’t deserve it,” Loretta said arrogantly.

“I'm your granddaughter. Why would you say that you don’t deserve me buying you pastries?Mila’s heart ached.

With tears in her eyes, Loretta sneered, “Don’t play nice with me. | know what’s on your mind.“What's on my mind?” Mila’s gaze was on Loretta.

Loretta averted her eyes in distress and said, “Yes, I’m stupid and blind. | couldn’t even recognize my granddaughter. | was soarrogant and rude that | insulted you. | even swore at you. |”

She became more and more upset as she spoke. Her indignation turned to guilt and self-blame. Choking back tears, shecontinued, “I lack manners and knowledge. I’m a nuisance to others, but it’s just who | am, and I can’t change. If you hate me, goahead. | don’t care.”

Mila was deeply saddened. It was obvious that Loretta was angry, but she couldn’t stop blaming herself. Mila questioned with asmile, “Who told you that you were a nuisance?”

Loretta clenched her teeth to hold back tears.

“You're the sweetest grandma in the whole world,” Mila said. Tears streamed down her face but she continued to smile. “Howcould | ever hate you?”

Loretta crossed her arms and turned away. Her tears were pouring down like rain, and her chin was shaking as she forcedherself to hold back the tears.

“Grandma, please don’t be mad at me anymore. I’m sorry,” Mila said sweetly.“| have no right to be mad at you.” Loretta choked back tears of resentment.+15 BONUS
