Chapter 1636

Chapter 1636

After Stefan left, Shirley quickly knocked on Renee’s room door.

"What do you want?" Leia scoffed, narrowing her eyes at Shirley suspiciously like she was a ticking

time bomb. When everyone had gone to Owen, Leia had followed Shirley upstairs, and blocked her

way when she knocked on Renee's door.

"It's none of your business; this is between Ms. Everheart and me. She promised to speak to me alone

just now." Shirley's expression was hostile and unfriendly, very much different from her innocent look

when she was in front of Xavier. 1

"It's my business since you're looking for my bestie. She just had surgery and is blind, so she needs to

be protected from wicked people like you," Leia said firmly.

"Ms. Osborne, I don't owe you anything, and I'm not your prisoner. Why do you always object to

everything I do? Do you really have that much time on your hands?" Shirley smoothed her hair, her

tone sarcastic. "If I were you, I would have spent more time dressing up. There are plenty of women

like me, and men care about appearances the most. No man wants to date a girl who acts like a guy!"

In her mind, Leia was an unattractive and noisy tomboy-the kind of woman no man would fall in love

with. She firmly believed that Xavier had not fallen in love with Leia, and was just doing all this to

infuriate Shirley. 1

Leia's eyes widened in surprise, then she shook her head as if she found Shirley very pitiful. "Hmph,

spoken like a true celebrity. Clearly, you have no understanding of the love between men and women."

"Stop pretending, we're not so different. You're doing this because you love him too. Since we're alone

here, I can freely admit that I'm a cunning and vulgar woman. Can you admit that?" Shirley lifted hernovelbin

chin and said

righteously. 1

"I'm not you, so don’t think we're the same!” Leia scoffed. She knew Shirley couldn't see past her

shallow beliefs, so she wouldn't be able to understand Leia's feelings.

"Isn't it true? You know you're prejudiced against me, and it's not because I did anything bad but merely

because I'm the woman Xavier cares about the most. Am I right?" Shirley sneered, continuously

stressing how important she was to Xavier. 2

However, it was actually because she felt guilty.

In the past, she did not find Leia a threat, but as time went on, she became more concerned. She

hadn't thought that Xavier would fall in love with a tomboy like Leia, but... he gradually stopped loving

Shirley. She couldn't bear to see that happen.

"I've got to hand it to you. If you love Xavier that much, you should take this opportunity. No one will

fight you for it, and they won’t be able to defeat you either." Leia massaged her temples wearily. She

had met a lot of

people, but she rarely saw someone as two-faced and cunning as Shirley. 2

"I know that this is my only chance to get Xavier, which is why I came to Ms. Everheart to fight for it,"

Shirley said cryptically.
