Chapter 607 Muyu Is Coming to Yenching

Chu Feng felt sorry for Duo Duo. He had been too busy over the past week, and he had neglected hisdaughter.

Now that he had nothing else on his agenda, he would spend the rest of his time in Yenching with hiswife and daughter.

Creak…

The door finally opened and stayed open.

Duo Duo appeared. She said arrogantly, "You'd better mean what you say. I'll forgive you, but only thisonce."

She pouted and continued, "Promise to bring me to Happy Valley this weekend, okay? Also, you haveto tell me a very nice bedtime story tonight…"

Chu Feng picked up his daughter and said, "Yes, I'll do everything you say, Duo Duo. Won't you giveDaddy a kiss?"

Duo Duo planted a solid kiss on Chu Feng's cheek and handed him a macaron.

Yun Muqing could hear laughter from Duo Duo's room. Her lips curled up into a blissful smile.

Perhaps that was the life she had always wanted.

Suddenly, her phone started to ring. Yun Muqing was surprised to see that it was from Yun Muyu.

"Hey, Muqing, you and Feng are gone for two weeks! Have you forgotten that you have a cousin stuckat home? You might be enjoying yourself in Yenching, but I'm stuck with eating delivery food!" YunMuyu continued angrily. "I don't care. Now that I'm done with my exams, I'll buy a ticket for the nextflight to Yenching. Just wait for me! Heehee…"

"Hey, Yu…"

The call abruptly ended before Yun Muqing could get a word in.

Yun Muqing could feel a headache creeping in. Why is Muyu coming to Yenching? With Duo Duoaround, it's already so hard to find some me-time with Feng. Now that Muyu is here…

At the same time, Chu Tianxiong was sitting in his study in Lord Chu's Castle.

Even though it was already well past midnight, he was still hard at work.

His gigantic figure was hunched over a desk. With a cup of coffee in his hand, he tiredly rubbed hiseyes as he listened to Weng Bo go through the stack of reports that was half as tall as him.

"The corruption scandal at Huaxi Refineries has been concluded. 173 members of staff have beenremoved from their positions, and 35 billion dollars has been recovered."

"Construction of a dam at Huang River has begun, and it is due to be completed before the annual rainseason. The donations and supplies will arrive at the construction site tomorrow."

"Xi Xia has repeatedly crossed our national borders and injured seven of our soldiers. We suspect that

they're on an intelligence-gathering mission, and the military has intervened."

Chu Tianxiong listened to each report carefully. Most of the time, he would remain silent. If there was aparticularly difficult problem, he would give a terse solution.

That was his life for the past seventeen years. He single-handedly took on the task of governing over abillion Donghua citizens.

He had not had a good night's sleep since then. That was why he looked old and haggard even thoughhe was only 49 years old.

After he was done with reporting official business, Weng Bo said with a hint of pride in his voice, "LordChu, your son has acted upon the Lu family for disrupting your wife's resting place. All two hundredmembers of the Lu family have gotten what they deserved, and the citizens of Yenching are happy thatthe menace is gone."

Chu Tianxiong did not show any reaction to the news. He took a sip of his coffee and said, "I supposehe killed many people."

"Yes, but he only killed those whose crimes deserved death. The innocent ones, as well as those withlighter crimes, were spared," Weng Bo said as he handed Chu Tianxiong a document. "Your son has arighteous sense of justice. No wonder he has achieved the rank of general at such a young age!"

"He inherited Qingrou's kindness and discernment," Chu Tianxiong said.

If it were him, he would have killed every single person at the scene. Not only that, he would also havekilled anyone within three degrees of relations with the Lu family. novelbin

That was how he had acted when he went on his conquest of sixteen countries. In the past seventeenyears, it was rumored he had killed at least ten million people.

Perhaps that was why certain politicians hated him and called him "The Butcher".

However, if he hadn't been so merciless, he wouldn't have been able to save Donghua from falling intothe hands of external invaders and keep them out for the past twenty years.

As long as he was the leader, everyone else learned how to keep their heads low and behave.

That was how Chu Tianxiong was known as the Living Reaper to his enemies!
