Chapter 296

Without uttering another word, Tang Li slapped Tang Hao across the face.

He roared, "Kneel! You ingrate!"

Tang Hao was doing his best to hold back his anger as his face throbbed from the slap. He stuck hischin out stubbornly and shouted, "Dad, why should I kneel down? I didn't say anything wrong. Why didyou hit me?"

Tang Li trembled with anger and was speechless at his son's response.

Tang Sisi sneered as she watched from one side. She said faintly, "Tang Hao, Chu Feng is the doctorinvited by the Tang family. It was he who got rid of the cyst in Grandpa's lung and saved Grandpa's life. But didn't you say that the people Chu Feng rescued were trash who were damned and deserved to goto hell?"

She continued playfully, "Did you mean that Grandpa should have died a long time ago, and that hebelonged in hell?"

Tang Hao shuddered when he finally realized the situation, and his heart felt like it was about to beatout of his chest from fright. "He… He cured Grandpa, I…"

Tang Weiguo's expression was extremely dour. He smacked a hand onto the table and shoutedsharply, "Li! You educated your son very well indeed. What an example as a descendant of the Tangfamily!"

"Grandpa, I'm sorry! I didn't mean that! I didn't mean to curse your death!"

Tang Hao fell to his knees with a thump and began to kowtow at Tang Weiguo's feet again and again tomake amends. He was so scared that he was trembling all over.

Even if he were the spoiled child of the family, he would never dare curse his grandfather to an earlydeath.

Tang Li and his wife were also cold-sweating all over, and they knelt on the ground together. "Dad, it'sour mistake! Please forgive Hao this time." Without uttering another word, Tang Li slapped Tang Hao across the face.

"You had made an error, but it wasn't that you cursed my death, but that you offended and slanderedMr. Chu so openly." novelbin

Tang Weiguo was furious, and the volume of his voice continued to rise. "Mr. Chu is my savior and adistinguished guest of the Tang family. If I were to let you off easily, I would still cripple one of yourhands. But since this is up to me, I would break both of your legs!"

"Tang Li was erroneous in educating his son. You are to be grounded for a month, and you'd betterproperly reflect on this! Your immediate family will be fined one year's worth of dividends. Now get lost."

"As for you," Tang Weiguo continued, as he turned to Tang Hao with a livid expression. "Men, break hisleg for me to make amends to Mr. Chu."

Tang Hao was so frightened that he fell to his knees and began begging Chu Feng for mercy. ChuFeng only waved his hand to signal the men who stepped forward to conduct the punishment to stepdown.

"Mr. Tang, it's just a small skirmish. Let's put it behind us."

Tang Weiguo had done his best to appease Chu Feng, so in return, Chu Feng returned the courtesyand allowed the ugly situation to pass.

Besides, as far as Tang Hao was concerned, Chu Feng had taught many such dandies a lesson. Hecould barely spare them any attention beyond that.

"You useless thing! Hurry up and thank Mr. Chu!" Tang Weiguo chided angrily. Tang Hao immediatelyran to Chu Feng and repeatedly knocked his head on the floor as he kowtowed before Chu Fengseveral times.

Now that he had barely escaped a major punishment, he would be eternally grateful to Chu Feng forhis leniency. All he could feel was regret for what he had done.

If he had known that Chu Feng was his grandfather's savior, he would never have gone against him.

Soon after, a short performance of entertainment passed, during which Tang Feng drank plenty ofglasses of wine as a sign of apology. Tang Li's expression only became darker and more flustered.Today, he was utterly embarrassed. His son was the laughing stock, and now Chu Feng had ananimosity towards him.

Chu Feng only drank a few glasses of wine and had a brief, light-hearted conversation with TangWeiguo before he made his excuses and bade everyone goodbye.

"Allow me to send you off," Tang Sisi offered, and followed Chu Feng closely to the door. She seemed

afraid that he would catch a cold after a few drinks, so she deliberately asked someone to retrieve acoat before personally helping Chu Feng put it on.

Every detail of that exchange did not escape Tang Weiguo's notice, and a meaningful smile lit up hisface.

After Tang Sisi said her goodbyes, Tang Weiguo asked her with a smile, "Sisi, what do you think of ChuFeng?"

"What is there to think of him?" Tang Sisi lowered her head, and her gaze danced around the room asshe chose to feign ignorance.

Tang Feng's laugh was full of mirth and was loud enough to ring throughout the room. "I'm asking whatyou think if we marry you off to Chu Feng and have him be a son-in-law of the Tang family."
