Chapter 269

Did Jiaqiang and Xiaoyue really bow and apologize to us in a humble tone? Muqing and her familywere stunned by their actions. However, a thread of amazed gratification rippled through them.Muqing’s eyes glistened with delight. However, she turned to Chu Feng for help as she did not knowhow to respond.

Chu Feng asked coldly, “Are you guys making a sincere apology or you are only saying this because ofthe 80 million compensation by the Chamber of Commerce of the Four Seas? You have no choice butto ask Muqing to return to the company. Seems like you were kept busy the whole afternoon trying tofind someone to help you with this matter. However, you can’t find a way out so you have no otherways but to beg for our forgiveness, in hope that Muqing will agree to return.”

Muqing and her family were astonished. It suddenly dawned on them that Jiaqiang had pretended to begenerous as he was at his wits end. What a scumbag! He will definitely be punished for his actions.

Realizing that their intentions were exposed, Jiaqiang and Xiaoyue’s face scrunched up in hatred. Theywere simmering with anger as Chu Feng’s words cut like a knife. They would never embarrassthemselves and plead for forgiveness if they had another solution. novelbin

“Who do you think you are, Chu Feng! What gives you the right to speak here!” Xiaoyue yelled andpointed furiously at the man. She thought to herself, we are only afraid of the powerful Mr. Chu who isbacking Sanyuan. Although Chu Feng shares the same surname as this commanding man, he isnothing but a loser. What gives him the nerves to act so brazenly!

“Seems like you guys aren’t sincere enough,” Chu Feng said nonchalantly. He turned to Muqing andsuggested, “I think we need to think twice about you going back to the company. What do you say?”

Muqing let out a laugh and nodded obediently. “All right, I’ll do as you say.”

Xiaoyue’s expression darkened as she tried to hide her seething anger. Afraid that Muqing would notagree to return to the company, Jiaqiang hastily pleaded, “Muqing, you can’t wait any longer. Thecompany really needs you. You can’t leave us in a lurch…”

Xiaoyue begged, “Uncle Jiaming, tomorrow’s the deadline of the agreement. If Muqing refuses to returnto the company, we have to pay 80 million dollars to the Chamber of Commerce of the Four Seas. Theyare known to be ruthless and capable of doing anything they so wish. We are connected by blood! Canyou really bear to see us suffer?

Jiaming’s face eased for a moment as he could not bear to leave them in despair. Fenglan was alsoafraid that the matter would go out of hand and they would be implicated as well. Hence, she loweredher voice and urged, “That’s enough. Just help your uncle for once…”

Muqing tightened her grip on Chu Feng’s arms and leaned toward the man. “I said that I will do as ChuFeng says.” It was obvious that she was trying to help Chu Feng regain his footing in the family.

Chu Feng also thought that it was time to close the matter. Hence, he glanced at Jiaqiang and Xiaoyueand said calmly, “Muqing can return to the company on three conditions. First, any matters relating toChamber of Commerce of the Four Seas will be handled by Muqing alone. No one can veto herdecision and she enjoys all the rewards from the project.”

Jiaqiang immediately nodded his head and assured, “No problem. I promise that we will never interferewith this matter ever again.” In a moment of folly, he decided to snatch the business and nearly had topay up 80 million dollars. After this episode, he swore never to interfere with any matters relating to the

Chamber of Commerce of the Four Seas.

Chu Feng continued, “Secondly, Muqing shall be promoted to Business Development Director. I wantyou to announce this to everyone tomorrow and you must personally welcome Muqing back to thecompany.” He wanted his woman to receive the royal treatment that she deserved.

After pondering for a few seconds, Jiaqiang clenched his jaw and promised, “That’s not an issue.” Afterall, he was already humiliated today, and did not mind being embarrassed for another time tomorrow.

Satisfied, Chu Feng went on, “Thirdly, Xiaoyue was disrespectful to her elders. She was unreasonableand said hurtful words. Hence, she must apologize to Uncle Jiaming.” He pointed to Xiaoyue, whoseface was now contorted with anger, and demanded, “Kneel and apologize.”

Xiaoyue pointed back at Chu Feng with a death stare and screamed, “What?!” She thought bitterly, Ihave to kneel and apologize to the cripple Jiaming? Over my dead body! This is atrocious, how dare hemake fun of me! I’m so going to kill him.

“Asshole! Don’t push your luck. Who do you think you are? How dare you instruct me to kneel…”

Before Xiaoyue could finish her sentence, Jiaqiang kicked her in the knee and forced her to crumble onthe floor. He bellowed, “Kneel!” He was already so close to succeeding and would not let anyone messthings up. Jiaqiang thought to himself, I have already been humiliated. What harm would it cause to letXiaoyue kneel and apologize. All these sufferings are nothing compared to the 80 million compensationthat we have to fork out…

Xiaoyue’s knees landed on the ground with a loud thud. Seeing that she had no choice, she clenchedher jaw and said spitefully, “I’m… I’m sorry.”

The rage and injustice that was pulsing through Muqing’s veins seemed to disappear in an instant. Shestood up and said, “Uncle Jiaqiang, rest assured that I’ll be back at the office tomorrow.”

Jiaqiang replied, “All right, I’ll wait for your return. We shall leave now.”
