Chapter 243

Yun Muqing stood to one side, her lips twisted into a frown. She said sourly, "She's a great beauty withlegs that go on for miles and skin that's incredibly radiant. Plus, she's a doctor of medicine. That's bothbeauty and brains! I must congratulate you, oh Great Doctor Chu."

Chu Feng smiled. He could obviously tell that everything Yun Muqing had to say was dripping injealousy.

So, he said out loud, "Oh, that? I took Tang Sisi as a disciple just to get her off her high horse."

"In terms of beauty, talent, and accomplishments," he continued, "how can she compare to you, thegorgeous Ms. Yun?"

Yun Muqing raised her head proudly. She smiled sweetly when she heard Chu Feng stroking her ego.She prompted, "And?" novelbin

"And-" Chu Feng pondered for a while. "Well, in terms of beauty, Tang Sisi's legs are pretty long. They're slender and creamy white, and-"

Yun Muqing's expression became gloomy instantly, and her eyebrows flew up. She angrily threw all ofthe bags she was holding at Chu Feng.

"Hey, what are you doing?" Chu Feng was covered in all sorts of items. He staggered in surprise, hismood turning surly.

"My legs are short and I can barely walk, so you can carry it all by yourself," Yun Muqing spat. With afew clicks of her high heels, she had already stormed away, leaving Chu Feng all by himself.

Chu Feng was rendered speechless.

Women really are fickle things.

Early the next morning, Chu Feng and Yun Muqing arrived at the hospital.

It was the day of Zhou Lie's surgery. After removing the steel plate, Chu Feng planned to conditionZhou Lie's right leg with acupuncture and some traditional medication for the next few days. Zhou Liewould then be able to recover as before, and Chu Feng could finally put this pressing issue to rest.

However, when Chu Feng rushed to Zhou Lie's ward with his heart full of expectations, his face fellinstantly when he saw the scene in front of him.

Zhou Lie and his family were driven out of the ward. Their clothes and daily necessities were strewneverywhere in the corridor. It was mayhem, and the scene had attracted a group of onlookers.

"H-How are you so unreasonable? Who gave you the power to drive a patient out?" Zhou Ying wasfurious. "Is this in any way ethical?"

A chubby middle-aged nurse had her hands on her waist. She looked downright shrew-like as sheresponded, "If you don't pay the hospitalization fees, then you don't get to move in. That is my rule andreason, and that, to me, is ethical. This is a hospital. What, did you think this was a shelter?"

"Take a good look. This is a premium ward and the fee itself is two thousand yuan a day. It is for big, important people," she continued. "If you don't have money, don't go asking for things you can't afford!Don't you think it's shameless of you to pretend to be some big shot?"

The nurse was particularly disdainful. Every word she said was a stab at the Zhou family.

"Y-you guys are too much!"

Liu Minglan could barely stand the provocation. Her eyes darkened as she almost fainted from theinsults.

At that critical moment, Chu Feng immediately stepped up and supported Liu Minglan. "Mother, are youokay? Don't worry. I'm here to settle everything."

He walked up to the arrogant nurse and threw a payment slip at her face. "This is to make up for thehospitalization expenses. Get us our ward now."

As soon as he got up this morning, a staff member from the hospital contacted him to request that hepay several hundred thousand yuan in surgical fees. Although Chu Feng was puzzled, he paid it upwith no delay.

But he did not expect that in less than half an hour, his adoptive father would be treated like this. Theywere clearly trying to bully those they thought were beneath them.

The plump nurse ripped the payment slip off her face with a meaty hand and gave it a few suspiciousglances. She accepted it without further criticism after confirming that it was legitimate.

Grunting coldly, she said, "The hospital's resources are tight right now, so your ward has been given toanother patient. There are only general wards available now. You can head downstairs. Room 707.Pack up and move over there by yourselves."

There was not a single Zhou family member who did not look nonplussed.

Yun Muqing stood up angrily. In an accusing tone, she asked, "What do you mean by that? What givesyou the right to make us give up our bed?"

What logic does it make to charge the price of a premium ward but only provide an ordinary ward?

"I don't mean anything by it. They paid earlier than you, and they paid more than you, too. So naturallywe will give it up to them." The chubby nurse looked indifferent, but her tone was triumphant. "If youhave an opinion on this, you can put in an official complaint with my name on it."

"You-" Yun Muqing was completely annoyed by how shameless the nurse was.
