After cleaning the blood from Madelyn's face, Kai took off his mask and gave a menacing smile. "You
don't deserve to know who he is."
Madelyn took a deep breath, feeling her head throb intensely. Not long after, she started coughing
harshly, blood trickling from the corner of her mouth. Kai watched, maintaining his composure. Once he
felt sure she was ready, he gave her two pills. He waited for her to regain some strength before moving
her to a regular room.
As Kai stepped out of the operating room, Zach grabbed him, asking, "What happened to her?"
With a playful glint in his eyes and a casual tone, Kai smirked at Zach. "Hospital rules: Only direct
family or spouses get info about a patient's condition. So... which role are you playing?" Adding a
mocking tone, Kai said, "Oh, I almost forgot. You and she are siblings."
Zach's voice turned icy. "Enough with the games."
Even as Zach tightened his grip, Kai did not flinch. "Your feelings for Madelyn are growing, aren't they?
Falling hard for her, are you?" Kai chuckled. "What a twist! You're Hayson's son. There's no future for
you two." The fact that Zach was Hayson's real son was a secret only Kai was privy to.
In a corner of the hallway, Yvonne went unnoticed as she overheard Kai and Zach's conversation. The
shocking revelation made her eyes widen, and she swiftly covered her mouth. But when Kai's gaze met
hers, she felt even more exposed. She thought, 'Zach and Madelyn are really siblings? How's that
possible? If Zach knows and it's true, he's completely lost his mind!'
Yvonne was at the hospital for a checkup. After leaving the examination room, she spotted Zach and
wanted to greet him. However, she overheard a shocking secret between him and Kai. Overwhelmed,
she left quickly, stumbling in her heels. Once outside, she paused to regain her composure in the
sunlight. The revelation was hard to believe. At the Young residence, she brushed past Frida withoutnovelbin
much attention and headed to her room. In front of her vanity, the mirror showed Yvonne's pale and
puzzled expression.
She tried to understand it all. 'Zach knows about his relationship with Madelyn, but he still gets close to
her. We've been engaged for four years, and despite my efforts, he hardly notices me. Do they not
know the truth? What will Madelyn do if she finds out?' A thought crossed her mind. 'Madelyn, this is
your doing. If you weren't around, he might notice me.'
Meanwhile, Madelyn woke up in the hospital's VIP room and saw Margaret. Noticing her alertness,
Margaret informed her, saying, "Mr. Jardin went to the airport to pick up your father. He said you should
rest more. Once you're fully healed, he'll manage your discharge."
