Chapter 692

"Push back all unnecessary meetings in the afternoon," Zach ordered.

"Yes, Mr. Jardin," Kelvin answered.

Zach then glanced at Madelyn. His voice was cold, "The bodyguard will send you back later."

Madelyn obliged, "Mmm." Madelyn lowered her gaze.

After a long time, the bodyguard walked over and said, "Ms. Jent, Mr. Jardin has already left. We still

have two hours to visit the hospital."

For safety reasons, Madelyn left in another car. The other vehicle had a GPS tracker, allowing Zach to

track her location using his phone.

In the car, the bodyguard gave her a gray orderly's uniform and a face mask. He passed it to Madelyn

and said, "There are many people who work for Mr. Jardin in the hospital. You must disguise yourself

and pretend to be a hospital orderly to enter. This is your identification card, and you need to hang it on

your neck."

"Okay," Madelyn answered.

The bodyguard turned around to give Madelyn some privacy to change her clothes. Madelyn just put

the uniform over her clothes. She tucked her skirt into the pants and tied a low ponytail. She then put

on her face mask, which showed only her eyes.

After they arrived at the SereneCare Hospital, Madelyn followed behind the bodyguard. They went to

the VIP sick wards. A strong smell of disinfectant rushed into Madelyn's face mask. The scent made

Madelyn anxious, and hard to breathe.

The bodyguards guarding the doors stopped them and said, "We need to identify you. Take off the facenovelbin

mask."

"There's no need to check her. This is the hospital orderly that I hired. Let her in," A stern voice came

from within the sick ward. Madelyn could see that it was Frida, Yvonne's mother.

Madelyn caught sight of herself and was stunned to see strands of gray hair peppering her head,

making her look much older than her actual age of forty. Now, she appeared closer to fifty.

As she moved on, the bodyguards didn't halt her progress, allowing her to pass without issue. Even

with her mask on, Frida recognized her immediately.

"Come in! He's been waiting for you," Frida said, a sentence that filled Madelyn with a melancholy she

couldn't shake off.

Madelyn's voice wavered with emotion as she asked, "Do you know where the child is now?"

Frida said, "Yvonne must've filled you in."

Silence filled the space between them before Frida continued, "Ethan sent the child away. We won't

know where until he wakes up."

"Talk to him, keep him company," Frida instructed. "Although I don't like you, you're the only one my

son still cares deeply for. So I have no choice but to accept you."

"From now on, act in a manner befitting your background. You were a Jent, after all. If people knew you

were a homewrecker, it would bring shame to the Jent family," Frida cautioned.

"I knew your mother. She was a woman of virtue. You? You're nothing like her," she added, disdain

coloring her words.

Madelyn's eyes widened. "You knew my mother? Can you tell me about her?"

Frida didn't respond, leaving the room under Madelyn's probing gaze. Madelyn felt a wave of

disappointment wash over her.

'Why would she make such comments?' Madelyn wondered to herself.

She knew very little about her own mother—virtually nothing, in fact. Most of what she knew came from

others.

A bodyguard approached, interrupting her thoughts. "Ms. Jent, time is running out. If Mr. Jardin realizes

you're missing, there will be serious consequences..."
