Chapter 629
Madelyn was definitely hungry. Ever since he appeared, she had not eaten many meals. Her stomach
was convulsing in hunger. Madelyn was forced to eat a whole bowl of oatmeal by Zach. Her stomach
was currently churning, and she wanted to vomit. Zach peeled an apple and sent it to her mouth.
Suddenly, blood trickled from her nose and dripped onto the blanket.
"Don't move," Zach said. Just as Madelyn was about to wipe it, Zach grabbed her hand.
He held Madelyn's head up and used a tissue to wipe her chest area. His clothes were also soaked in
blood. He chastised her, "What did you eat? Why are you bleeding?"
Madelyn did not answer him. Zach was fumbling around. He rang the bell and had the nurse change
the sheets. He then held the drip bottle while holding her with one hand. Every time Madelyn had anovelbin
nosebleed, she would lose her strength and be left unable to move.
'Is he still the Zach I know? Zach from the past would never do these things for me,' Madelyn thought.
Despite him trying to make it up to Madelyn, it was impossible for them to get together again.
Madelyn's mind was a mess, and she wanted to sleep. She could not struggle and was exhausted.
Zach had her sit on the basin. He used a clean towel and wet it before wiping the marks from her. The
look he had when rolling up his sleeves was like...
After he finished cleaning, the nurse also finished fixing the bed. Madelyn proceeded to lie down on the
bed quietly to sleep. Zach stood up and used the tissues to wipe his hands before throwing them into
the bin. He ordered the nurse, "Call me once she wakes up."
The nurse quickly nodded her head. Zach had a meeting in the afternoon and did not have time to keep
Madelyn company at the hospital.
At the Jardin Corporation overseas branch, Kevin was already downstairs. Kevin immediately admitted
his fault when everyone left: "I'm sorry, Mr. Jardin! Ms. Young did call me to ask for your schedule
earlier. I didn't expect she would actually come."
Zach had an upset expression. With a hand in his pocket, he walked into the elevator. He said, "Your
bonus this month will be cut in half."
Kevin lowered his head and accepted the punishment, "Yes, sir."
He continued, "I've already placed bodyguards at the hospital for Ms. Jent so that no one will disturb
her."
"Mmm," Zach replied.
"Then... will you be going over to Ms. Young's place later? She's booked a nearby hotel and is probably
here to discuss the marriage," Kevin said.
A chill swept through the elevator. Zach said, "Find a random reason to have her go home. Don't let her
enter my field of vision without my permission."
"But...," Kevin argued.
"No buts. If she wants the Young family to be safe, she will do as I say," Zach interrupted him.
"Yes, sir," Kevin said.
Being too greedy would be counterproductive. As Zach entered the meeting room, every overseas
branch's executives stood by. Those that were sitting stood up to welcome him. Zach waved his hand
and sat at the head of the table. He motioned for them to continue his presentation. An hour and a half
passed. Zach took his phone out and saw no messages. It was oddly quiet.
After finishing a drip bottle, the nurse pulled the needle from Madelyn's arm. Madelyn woke up at the
same time.
Madelyn asked, "What time is it?"
The nurse replied, "It's already half past five in the evening."
Madelyn looked out at the dark sky as she did not expect herself to sleep for so long. The nurse added,
"Dr. Jensen had me bring you the medication. The dosage will be the same as before, and you must
take your medication in time."
