Chapter 570

'But why should he? He's my child. I gave birth to him. Why should I let her benefit from him? I won't let

them get their way, even if it costs me my life,' thought Donna.

One of the nurses in the hallway heard Donna's heart-wrenching cries and thought, 'How bone-chilling.

She might be a lunatic. If she weren't someone Mr. Arnold had brought over, we would've called the

cops.'

Meanwhile, Evelyn immediately took a cab to the hospital after she learned something had happened

to Robin.

Robin initially had a cold and a fever. After that, he was suddenly diagnosed with leukemia. Fortunately,

he got an early diagnosis. The hospital immediately began searching for a matching bone marrow

donor.

Ethan's bone marrow matched with Robin's; bone marrow from a blood relative typically had a higher

success rate for transplantations.

Ethan did not refuse the transplantation and agreed to the procedure that very night.

The two were wheeled into the operating theater together.

Meanwhile, Donna came uninvited and waited outside the operating theater.

Evelyn was incredibly anxious and kept on praying for the two's safety.

"Rest assured, Mrs. Arnold Sr. The success rate of this procedure is high; Mr. Arnold will be fine," said

Leyton.

Evelyn replied, "Don't tell Madelyn about this yet. Let her focus on her studies while she's abroad.

Judging from her attitude, she'll surely come back if she learns about this."

'We won't be able to keep the child a secret if that happens. She's the person Ethan cares the most

about. It wasn't easy for them to get together. We can't let the outside world know a thing before the

matter is completely resolved,' she thought.

Evelyn saw someone walk over. She turned to look, and her expression immediately turned icy.

"What're you doing here?"

Donna stared at the red-colored indicator on the door.

Evelyn did not know what Donna had gone through in the past few days, but she seemed like she had

Donna said, "Why can't I come? Robin is my son, so you don't have the right to stop me."

Evelyn snorted coldly.

Just then. Leyton's phone started vibrating. He looked at the caller ID and left without a second

thought.

He went to a quiet balcony to answer the call.

"Ms. Jent?" said Leyton.

Madelyn was tidying up her hotel room while speaking to him on the other end of the line. She held the

phone between her shoulder and cheek while putting on the duvet covers.

"Mr. Spear, isn't Ethan supposed to come over? When's the trip scheduled? Let me know so that I can

make the arrangements."

Leyton glanced at the closed operating theater door and said, "Sorry, Ms. Jent. Mr. Arnold... It'll... It'll

probably be a while until he goes over. He's handling rather tricky company affairs. But don't worry, Ms.

Jent. He'll rush over immediately once he's done settling the matters."

"Is that so..." Madelyn said in a slightly disappointed tone. She stopped what she was doing and sat on

the bed. She continued, "Tell him there's no need to rush over for me. I'm fine on my own. For the past

few days, I've familiarized myself with the roads nearby. I won't get lost. Sorry for disturbing you this

late at night."

"Not at all, Ms. Jent," Leyton replied.

Just as Madelyn hung up, someone opened the doors to the operating theater. The procedure had

ended.
