Chapter 555

After Ethan went back to his place, he sat on the couch in the living room and smoked all night. The

ashtray was filled with cigarette butts.

In the early morning, just before six o'clock, when the sky outside had just begun to brighten slightly, novelbin

the servant was preparing to clean the house. She was very surprised to find the entire living room

filled with smoke.

She thought, 'Mr. Arnold just got engaged to Ms. Jent yesterday. Shouldn't he be at the hotel with her

now?'

"What's the time now?" Ethan suddenly spoke. The servant's heart skipped a beat, "Mr. Arnold, it's

almost six in the morning now."

He thought, 'Is the sky outside bright now?'

Ethan's eyes were filled with red veins as he glanced outside. When he stood up, his body swayed. He

then suddenly closed his eyes and passed out.

"Mr. Arnold!" The servant exclaimed. She quickly went to call the family doctor.

The family doctor arrived half an hour later. After he examined Ethan, he said, "Mr. Arnold was just

overtired and didn't get enough rest. Let him sleep well. He'll be fine when he wakes up."

Evelyn had not slept all night either. She was sitting on the edge of the bed. After she got to know that

Ethan had fainted, she merely sighed.

Marta approached her and covered her with a blanket, "Mrs. Arnold Sr., you should get some rest now.

It's already morning."

Evelyn suddenly asked, "Has the child been found?"

Marta responded, "George checked the surveillance footage just now. He found that the child left with a

woman. And after they left... we couldn't find out anything about the child!

"It's so strange. Mr. Arnold has always lived chastely and doesn't like getting into trouble. How can

there be a kid who looks exactly like him?!

"If I hadn't seen the kid with my own eyes, I wouldn't believe it."

"In the past, when Ethan was still acting recklessly..." Evelyn responded before she suddenly

remembered something, "Where are the photos? Show me the pictures of the child leaving."

Marta said, "Okay, okay. I'll go get them. Don't worry for now."

Marta then took the photos and gave them to Evelyn. Evelyn's hands trembled, and she appeared

agitated as she looked through the photos. Due to the darkness last night, the child's features looked a

bit blurry in some of the photos. But overall, the child's face was distinguishable at first glance.

Evelyn went through the photos one by one. She looked like she was searching for something. And

finally... when she reached the last photo, she stopped.

In that picture, a woman was holding the child they were looking for. The woman was turning her head,

revealing her side profile.

When Evelyn saw her, she suddenly widened her eyes, "It's her. It's really her."

Marta asked, "Who's she?"

"Who else could it be? I knew she was hiding something when she agreed to it so easily back then,"

Evelyn's eyes darkened. She continued, "Do everything to contact Donna Jolie. If it's really the Arnold

family's child, I absolutely can't let him be living out there."

Marta was shocked, "It really is Donna. If she is back, what will Ms. Jent do? Given her personality, she

probably won't stay with Mr. Arnold. If she leaves him, he'll surely become the old him. If that happens,

none of us can do anything."

Evelyn fell silent. Marta wondered what Evelyn was thinking. Evelyn thought, 'On one hand, it's my

grandchild. And on the other hand, it's the Arnold family's heir. I can't bear to lose either of them.'

After a long silence, Evelyn said, "We can't let Madelyn know about this. She's leaving for Paris for

three months today. Let's resolve this issue during these three months."

She was lost in her thoughts again, 'The timing of this child's appearance is just right! Donna... The

Arnold family will never accept a person like her. I absolutely won't allow another "Sylvia" to ruin my

family.'

Marta responded, "Okay."
