Chapter 450

Chapter 450

Madelyn assured, “Starting today, I’ll be the one paying your monthly salary.”

Margaret gave her thigh a reassuring pat and responded, “Okay, I’ll call a locksmith right away. If Mr.

Jardin questions me later, please back me up. I still have my family to support.”

Madelyn nodded in agreement, saying, “Of course, I will.”

After approximately two to three hours, Margaret returned to the hospital, visibly perspiring. She

reported, “The front door lock has been changed, and I’ve reset the password as per your

instructions.”

Madelyn expressed her gratitude, “Thank you for your prompt action.”

Margaret humbly replied, “Well, you’re paying me. It’s my job.”

Madelyn changed out of the hospital gown before quickly completing the discharge procedures. She

paid the medical expenses with the bank card Hayson gave her. Hayson would send her money every

month. And since she did not usually spend much, she had quite a lot of savings.

As she exited the ward and stepped into the corridor, Margaret encountered Jadie, who was assisting

Rosario walk out of the elevator. Madelyn made eye contact with Jadie.

Rosario had aged considerably, her hair now mostly gray. Emotionally, she approached Madelyn and

said, “Madelyn… Have you come to visit me at the hospital? I’ve been thinking about you lately.”

Madelyn cast a cold glance at Rosario and replied, “Please take good care of your health.” With that,

she walked away.

She couldn’t bear to be in the presence of the person she had once trusted completely, only to discover

that she had been deeply betrayed. She couldn’t bring herself to forgive Rosario for her actions. She

couldn’t simply pretend that nothing had ever happened.

Rosario’s scream could be heard from behind. Jadie exclaimed, “Rosario! Somebody, call a doctor, novelbin

quickly!”

“Madelyn, Rosario has fainted. Doctor, come quickly!”

Madelyn proceeded into the elevator, and just before the doors shut entirely, Kai, wearing a white coat,

managed to halt them and stepped inside. He casually remarked, “Madelyn, what a coincidence.

Where are you headed?”

Madelyn decided not to answer or even glance in his direction. Her inner thoughts raced, “He’s a total

embarrassment to the medical field. He shouldn’t be wearing that coat at all.’

As soon as the elevator reached the ground floor, Madelyn walked toward the entrance and left the

hospital.

Madelyn returned to the Jent residence at Southern Haven Villas.

Not only did the villa’s front door have added security, but there was also a security gate at the main

entrance. Without a remote control, no cars could get in.

After Madelyn entered the password, a beep signaled the opening of the main gate.

As she gazed at the familiar yet strangely distant mansion, a flood of emotions washed over her,

mingled with a sense of isolation. This had been her home for many years, yet it felt more like a lifeless

prison.

Madelyn clung to the staircase railing, fatigue in her voice as she instructed, “Clear out all the rooms

except for Father and Jasmine’s. Get rid of what’s no longer needed and sell whatever’s not useful.”

‘Is she trying to push people away?’ Margaret wondered before responding, “Alright.”

Margaret thought to herself again, ‘She’s become a completely different person from the well-behaved

girl she once was.’

Madelyn didn’t isolate herself in her room, but she isolated herself in this empty mansion.

She hadn’t left the house for several days in a row, and neither had Margaret. They even had groceries

delivered right to the

door.

This mansion was huge. But there were only two people living in it.

Zach had not visited either. Without him being here, Madelyn would go downstairs every day to eat on

time.

There were only a few dishes on the vast dining table, all of them her favorites.

Other than eating alone, watching television alone, and reading alone when she was bored, not much

had changed from

before.
