Chapter 397

Evelyn spoke sternly, "So many years have gone by, and our family has done a lot for an outsider like

you."

She examined Donna closely one last time. "I've said what I needed to say," she declared firmly. Then,

she told Marta, "Show our guest out." Her voice was strong, and her eyes showed nothing but cold

indifference and dislike for Donna.

Evelyn really held a deep grudge against Donna. If it weren't for Donna, Ethan wouldn't have had such

a tough time in school or made bad choices.

Marta said, "Sure, Madam," and turned to Donna. "Ms. Jolie, please come with me."

Donna, full of frustration, yelled at Evelyn, "Aren't you worried I'll tell him all of this? If it weren't for you,

Ethan and I wouldn't be in this mess."

Evelyn sneered, "Five years ago, I didn't let you step foot in my home. Nothing has changed now. I

won't let you keep hurting my grandson."

Donna was shown out of the Arnold house. Her proud attitude had crumbled, leaving her looking like

someone who had lost everything in a bet, feeling ashamed and desperate. "I can't believe it," shenovelbin

muttered to herself over and over. "We were together for so long, and just like that, he gave up on me

and let go of those feelings."

She tried to call a number she knew well, but the screen showed an empty line. Her expression

suddenly turned fierce as she sent a message to another number.

[I can work with you, as long as you don't hurt Ethan.]

After sending this message, Donna prepared to leave. She gazed up at the sky, which appeared

gloomy and gray.

Donna had been traveling without rest for several days to return to Venturia, her head heavy with

thoughts. Suddenly, everything went dark, and she lost consciousness.

Meanwhile, at Ventrocloud High School, Madelyn still couldn't figure out why so many people were

giving her curious looks until the school day was nearly over.

It was when Mya snatched a magazine from the nearby store that Madelyn spotted a photo of herself

and Ethan on the cover, casually walking in Marisburg.

She wondered, 'Why would someone snap a picture of us and put it on a magazine cover for everyone

to see?'

Now, most of the girls at Ventrocloud High School had a copy of that magazine. They seemed to be

eyeing Madelyn with jealousy.

The final class of the day was a self-study session. Hailey Hann, the homeroom teacher who rarely

made appearances at this time, suddenly pushed the door open and walked into the classroom.

Accompanying her was a middle-aged, chubby man wearing a baseball cap, who held a magazine.

"Everyone, put down what you're doing for a moment. Let me introduce you to this famous suspense

drama director. He's here today to find actors. If any of you are interested, you can sign up. Being an

artist in showbiz can be a great career choice."

"Sir, you might want to consider another class! Our group here isn't exactly hurting for cash. We're not

into acting, either. It's a piece of cake for our families to start a showbiz company. Our focus is on our

studies, just waiting to finish school and dive into the family business!" It was unmistakably Lem

speaking.

It appeared that hardly anyone else in the class had much to add.
