Chapter 1029

Blake kept the conversation lively throughout the meals with Liam. She thought Liam would be

annoyed by her chattiness, but he answered her every query patiently, unlike Kevin, who would often

interrupt her mid-sentence.

"Finished with your meal, Liam?"

"Yes, I'm done."

"It's still early. How about a movie? I heard there's a great sci-fi movie playing. Are you interested?"

"Sounds good to me."novelbin

When it was time to pay, Liam promptly took care of the bill.

"You know, you could try digital payment next time. It's super convenient," Blake suggested.

"I haven't really gotten the hang of it yet," Liam admitted.

Blake smiled slightly, "Okay, you've got this one, but it's my treat next time. Don't turn down my invite,

okay?"

"I won't. If you call, I'll be there," said Liam.

Blake felt awkward and looked down at the slushy ground. She asked, "Won't going to a movie delay

your writing? You mentioned you're updating your novel tonight."

"I'm taking a day off for this date," Liam said and looked at Blake gently. "Are you cold?"

"I'm good."

"Here." Liam offered Blake a pair of black knitted gloves.

Blake was taken aback. "But what about you?"

"I don't really get cold," Liam said.

"I don't buy it." Blake touched Liam's hand, finding it surprisingly warm. "Okay, fine, I'll wear them.

Thanks."

Liam was taken aback and quickly looked away.

Blake, always sensitive to the cold, was already feeling her feet go numb. She quickly put on the gloves

and said, "All set, let's go. There's a theater nearby."

She looked up at Liam and noticed his reddening ears. She asked, "Liam, are you blushing? Is this

your first blind date? Have you never been in love?"

Liam hesitated and changed the topic. "When I was seventeen, I was diagnosed with leukemia. I had to

stop school for treatment. It wasn't until three years ago, after a bone marrow transplant, that I started

to get better."

Blake's heart sank. "I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to... You're okay now, right?"

"Yes, fully recovered. I've been looking for the person who donated their marrow for three years."

Blake walked backward in front of Liam and asked, "Have you found them yet?"

Before Liam could answer, he suddenly reached out for Blake's waist, steadying her as she nearly fell

into a ditch.

After Liam ensured Blake's safety, he quickly pulled his hand back, his ears now a deeper shade of red.

Blake covered her mouth to hide her smile.

'Such an adorably shy guy,' Blake mused to herself.
