Chapter 934

Chapter 934

Madelyn promptly removed the ring Zach had put on her finger again and placed it under his pillow.Usually, the slightest noise would awaken him with vigilance, but not this time.

Recently, the staff at Jardin Corporation were like cats on a hot tin roof with their work. Even Zach hadbeen arriving at the company an hour early every day and leaving precisely at 5:30 p.m. to accompanyMadelyn to the hospital. Most of his work was now being conducted in the hospital room. Whetherattending meetings or dealing with paperwork, he managed it all by her bedside.

Madelyn did not understand why Zach had to be there all the time if he was so busy. She felt uneasywith

his constant presence during her check-ups at the hospital.

The next morning, it was still dark at 6:30 a.m. when Kevin arrived at the private ward and found Zach, who appeared tired and irritable. When Zach noticed the lobby’s emptiness, his gaze turned sharp, and

asked, “Where is she?”

Confused, Kevin responded, “Mr. Jardin, what do you mean?”

Zach sensed something was off. He hurried back into the room in the ward only to discover that all theimportant documents usually in his drawer were missing. His expression turned icy, alarming Kevin, who thought some grave issue had arisen. It took Kevin a few seconds to realize that Zach wasfrantically

looking for Madelyn.

Before Kevin could explain, he saw Zach kicked a chair in frustration. Just as Kevin hesitated to speak,he

saw Madelyn enter from outside. She glanced at Zach nonchalantly and said, “It’s not even dawn yet.

What are you going crazy about now?”

Madelyn walked past the doorway, holding a medical report. Then, she casually placed them on thedining table in the living room. Kevin silently left after he saw Madelyn return to give them some space.

Madelyn went to the kitchen and poured herself a glass of water. Her actions immediately calmedZach’s

prior panic. He had thought she had fled. Reflecting on his agitation earlier, he now found himself

“Why didn’t you wake me to get the report?” Zach asked as Madelyn passed by.

“I only had a hand injury, not a disability,” Madelyn retorted, sitting down on the couch with her glass of

water.

After reviewing the results of the medical report, Zach planned to take Madelyn home after work.

Madelyn, too, was eager to leave the hospital. As she collected her belongings from the past few days,

she prepared to return with Zach to the Southern Haven Villas.

During their earlier argument, Madelyn demanded her personal space. Zach agreed and removed the

bodyguards monitoring her. However, he had installed a global positioning system on her new phone. He wanted to be able to monitor her location in real-time, no matter where she was.

Zach held Madelyn’s hand in the car and asked, “Are you cold?”

Madelyn frowned and said, “Give me back my ID card.”

“It will be needed in due time. I’ll hold on to it,” Zach replied calmly.

“It’s mine,” Madelyn insisted.

“I’ll return it to you after it’s all over,” Zach said, unfazed by Madelyn’s disapproving look.

Madelyn resigned herself to the situation and realized she had nowhere to run. Zach had securedmeasures to prevent her escape. For example, train stations required real-name registrations for ticketpurchases. Each station even had checkpoints; if she appeared, the station’s cameras would identifyher instantly. Even if she went shopping, Zach could monitor her at all times.
