Margaret was holding Dalton as she walked toward the door. Before she went inside, she heard thesound of something breaking and felt Dalton trembling in her arms. She was worried that he
might start crying at such a critical moment. Considering Zach’s temper, Margaret feared he
might do something bad to Dalton. So, she quickly went somewhere else with him.
The atmosphere turned tense as the maids silently left.
Until there were only the two of them left in the living room, Zach paused. He looked at the
dejected expression on Madelyn’s face and felt somewhat annoyed.
They had fought countless times. Zach had always been a strong-willed person. However, for her
sake, he had repeatedly set aside his pride to make up for his past mistakes.
