Chapter 778

Chapter 778

Madelyn walked into the changing room. She then did a blood test, neural CT scan, and more. Thecheck-up this time was much more comprehensive. Madelyn lay down on a bed while Kai sat by amachine.novelbin

She told him, “I’ve read the whole diary, except for the few pages that were torn off. So am I truly notHayson’s biological daughter?”

“Yes!” Kai answered.

“The revenge plot that you’ve been talking about since the beginning was all because I was Hayson’sdaughter, but I never was…’

“I-I’m sorry,” Kai whispered. Madelyn turned to face him, her expression cold as the blood drawn fromher left arm was taken to the lab for testing. They were the only people left in the room. Madelyn felther emotions surge, and her head throbbed. She closed her eyes, not knowing how to process the truththat had just been revealed to her. She could not forgive Kai even though he had done it all for hermother.

Kai struggled immensely before saying, “Stay at the hospital for treatment. I’ll do everything I can tocure you.”

However, her illness was incurable, and that was her inescapable fate.

“Could you tell me what kind of relationship you and my mother had? What happened between Fath- Imean Hayson and my mother?” Madelyn asked.

Kai took a deep breath before saying, “Hayson’s the one who destroyed the Blinken and Woodfamilies. My mother was close to the Wood family. When Erick Blinken was deployed to the borderguard, he was murdered, and his body was never even recovered. After he died, Willowbrookshire wasin chaos.”

He continued, “Hayson took the opportunity to bribe a group of people and used a portion of theBlinken family’s forces to suppress every prominent family in Willowbrookshire. On the same night, anexplosion occurred at the Blinken family residence, and none of the family members survived. Hekidnapped Ms. Wood, and my mother along with the rest of the Hawk family were unable to escapetheir terrible fate in the end. If it wasn’t for Ms. Wood who protected me, he would’ve killed me off too.All this time, I assumed that you were the bastard that Hayson and Ms. Wood made.”

‘Bastard!?’ Madelyn thought.

If she had not been born, Alicía would not have been tormented by Hayson, or be forced to survivethrough the pain. Death had been freedom for Alicia, and she had died at only 30 years old. The causeof death had been suicide, so Kai had blamed Alicia’s death on Madelyn. In his eyes, it was all becauseof her, this “stain” that should not have survived.

All this while, Kai had always thought that Alicia had died during childbirth, committing suicide due tothe humiliation. Only now did Kai understand that Madelyn and Hayson were not blood-related, and infact Madelyn was actually the child of Alicia Wood and Erick Blinken.

On the day Erick Blinken had been deployed, Alicia had been pregnant for over two months and thechild had miraculously survived in the end.

“After Ms. Wood gave birth to you, it was rumored that she had died during childbirth. Only I knew thatit was because of a suicide. After Ms. Wood died, Hayson started tying up loose ends and sent people

after me. He was the one who tossed me into the sea. I wouldn’t have survived. if it wasn’t for ErickBlinken’s officer,” Kai said.

‘So this is the truth behind everything? The man I called my father for over twenty years was themurderer who killed my entire family! No wonder Mom’s diary never mentioned him. He’s the one whocaused all this tragedy. It was him all along!’ Madelyn screamed internally.

Madelyn was so disoriented. Everything had happened because of a misunderstanding, turning her intoa victim of this convoluted revenge plot.

“Why would I trust you?” Madelyn asked.
