Chapter 694

The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 694

Zach took the pen from Kevin. Then, he signed at the bottom of the paper and handed it to Kevin. “Givethis to the legal department.”

“Yes, sir.”

Zach had always been someone who would go to any lengths to achieve his goals, not to mention amere fake marriage like this. To him, it did not matter who his bride was.novelbin

“No need for lunch today.”

“What’s going on? Do you have to head back to the office? We just got married, you know. Honey, can’tyou stay with me just this once? We’ve never really shared a meal together. Can’t we make anexception today, just for me?”

“Yvonne, you need to know where to draw the line. Don’t get too lost in the role.”

Yvonne felt a chill at his words. Zach climbed into the car without another word and drove off. “Mr.Jardin, should we head to the office or to Floral Loft?”

Zach closed his eyes for a moment, pinching the bridge of his nose. ‘I’ve accomplished what I set out todo, but why do I feel this growing sense of irritation?’ he wondered.

“Home.”

“Understood, sir.” Zach unlocked his phone and glanced at the GPS location displayed on the screen. As he did, his expression grew increasingly somber.

When Zach arrived at Floral Loft, he opened the door and went straight to the master bedroom withouthesitation. There, he found Madelyn on the balcony, lost in thought. His expression darkened evenfurther.

Slowly, he approached Madelyn, who was huddled on the couch with her knees pulled up to her chest. Her eyes seemed to be focused on something far away, as if she were in a world of her own.

Madelyn fluttered her eyes when his pair of legs came into her vision. Then, she said softly,“Congratulations.” Zach stared intently at her, as if trying to see right through her. “…And?”

“Have a happy marriage,” she said. Slipping one hand into his pocket, Zach used the other to liftMadelyn’s chin, locking eyes with her in a way that felt almost threatening.

“That’s not what I want to hear,” he said, his voice icy. Slowly, Madelyn raised her head to meet hisgaze.

“What do you expect to hear? That I love you? That you shouldn’t marry Yvonne?” She went on, “Doyou honestly think you’d believe me if I said any of that? Zach, when did you start lying to yourself?”

Madelyn slapped his hand away and stood up. “I know you way too well, Zach. You always treat thethings you’ve gotten way too easily in disdain. As for the things you cannot get your hands on, you useall means to get them. And this includes keeping me by your side. It’s merely your possessivenessacting up. You can’t accept the fact that I’m now over you when I used to be so deeply in love withyou.”

Her voice tinged with bitterness, she added, “You want everyone to submit to you willingly. If you haveany decency left, don’t toy with Yvonne’s emotions. Be a responsible husband and treat her well. If youstill doubt me, let me be clear: Zach, I don’t love you. I don’t love you now, and I never will in thefuture.”

‘He’s always been like this. To him, the things he can’t have are the most valuable,’ she thought toherself.

Madelyn continued speaking, “Prof. Monet has already returned to Ventropolis. I’ll move out tomorrow, and… You should go back to wherever you should be.”

Zach suddenly cracked a smirk.

“We’ll see if you can really break free.”

Madelyn stayed silent, offering no response. Just then, the housemaid knocked.

“Sir? Ms. Jent? Lunch is ready.”
