Chapter 628

Chapter 628

Zach stayed silent as if admitting to it. Madelyn grabbed a pillow and threw it at his face. She cursed athim, “You disgusting pervert! You’re a monster!”

Zach did not mind her cursing. He picked up the pillow from the ground and patted it. He placed itbehind her and said, “The doctor advised that you avoid getting too worked up.”

“Mr. Jardin, I’ve got you the oatmeal, Kevin said as he barged into the sick ward. He continued,“There’s also…”

“Long time no see, Madelyn,” Yvonne greeted Madelyn. She followed behind Kevin and had fruits inher hand. She smiled before walking to Madelyn. Madelyn noticed that Zach’s expression fell.

“I heard Zach was looking for you. I was worried, so I came to France to take a look. I’m so relievedyou’re fine,” Yvonne said.

No one knew when Yvonne had arrived and how much of their conversation she had heard. Madelynimmediately reverted to an indifferent expression. She still kept a soft smile on her face, but animperceptible coldness and aloofness were still there. In actual fact, she wanted to ask Yvonne howshe was. But what right did she have to ask such a question? There was nothing wrong with theirhappy family of three.

“I came in a rush, so I couldn’t bring anything. I bought some fruit downstairs. Do you want some? I canpeel an apple for you.” Yvonne offered.

Madelyn smiled lightly and said, “Thank you, but there’s no need.”

“I apologize for coming here without any announcement. I know it was abrupt, but I didn’t interrupt yourrest, did I?”

“No.” Madelyn replied.

Madelyn noticed she had been very cautious since entering the sick ward. She was gazing unnaturallyat the person next to the sick bed. Yvonne seemed to be afraid of Zach. In her memory, Yvonne hadbeen a free–spirited person. Her impression of Yvonne was from when she had her scarlet–long hair. Now that Yvonne had cut her hair short and dressed modestly, she looked different. Since the goal wasnot

to look good for Madelyn, her aim was Zach.

She did not expect Yvonne to still be hung on Zach after four years. Sadly, with Cecilia here, Yvonnewould not have her wish fulfilled. Falling in love with someone who did not love her back seemed tohave lowered her self–esteem and had changed her into something she

was not.

Madelyn could see her past self in Yvonne.

“Zach, I have something to tell you. Can I speak to you alone?” The tone Yvonne used had changeddrastically. In the past, Yvonne could accurately find her weaknesses and try to boss her around.

“What’s happened to her these past few years?‘ Madelyn thought.

Zach poured a bowl of oatmeal while ignoring Yvonne. He said coldly. “What else is there to talk about?Escort her out, Kevin.”

“Yes, sir.” Kevin obliged.

Kevin turned to speak to Yvonne, “Ms. Young, Mr. Jardin is not available now because he needs to takecare of Ms. Jent. Let me send you

back to your hotel.”

Yvonne glanced at Madelyn as if she wanted to say something. However, she did not dare say it andendured it. Madelyn knew that look she had. It was the careful hesitation of someone who feltextremely unworthy. What had made her come all the way to France to see her?

“Sure, I’ll send the address to you later. I’ll wait for you,” Yvonne said.

Yvonne subtly flashed the ring on her hand and gave Madelyn a meaningful look. She then told her.“Rest well. I’ll come visit you later.”

Madelyn nodded her head.novelbin

Zach held a spoon near her mouth, “Open wide.”

Madelyn immediately switched her expression. The fake smile was gone, and with a disgusted voiceshe said, “I don’t need you to feed me. I have my own hands.”

Just as she stretched her hand out, Zach dodged from it. He told her, “With your condition, you can’teven hold the bowl.”
