They walked past the grand lobby and took the elevator up to the presidential suite on the eighty–eighth floor.
In the dimly lit hallway, the soft carpet made Madelyn feel like she was walking on clouds.
She had been exhausted all day. Zach took out the room card and was about to unlock the door.
As Madelyn thought about how lustful he would be after entering the room, she bit her lip and said, “Idon’t want to stay with you.”
“Kevin, go book another room for her,” Zach instructed.
“Yes, Mr. Jardin.”

Zach opened the room door and took off his suit, feeling drained. He was about to turn on the lightswhen a figure approached him and hung in the pitch–black room. With both hands wrapped aroundZach’s neck, that person asked, “Why didn’t you come to pick me up today?”
