It had been the very same night that Madelyn and Zach were supposed to get married. The traffic wasquite heavy. An hour and a half later, Dorian dropped her off at the airport and left.
Madelyn did not have to wait long at the airport before boarding the plane early. The flight toVentropolis would take more than eight hours, so she would likely arrive at the hospital by around nineat night. Meanwhile, Zach received the news of Madelyn’s flight back to the country.
At the SereneCare Hospital, Hayson was in a coma on the hospital bed wearing an oxygen mask. Hisheart rate was normal, but there was no sign of him regaining consciousness.
He was staying in the exclusive VIP ward, and the doctor in charge of his treatment was Kai. Zach andKai seemed to share an unspoken understanding as Kai calmly explained Hayson’s current condition.

Zach turned to the side. His gaze was mysterious as he sized Kai up. He then smiled as he said, “Youalways help me whenever I need your help with my affairs. It seems like my plans against the Jentfamily play right into your hands. Are you actually trying to go against the Jent family through myactions?
“But from what I know, the Jent family had no dealings with you before.” They were both testing eachother. Both of them were very cunning men. They were trying to outsmart one another.
They both had something to use against each other. From another perspective, Kai and Zach indeedrelied on each other for mutual benefits.
Kai’s gaze looked strange as he said, ” Tsk, don’t give me that look. I’m not Madelyn.” He then walkedto Zach’s side and looked at the view outside the floor-to-ceiling window. “Whether there are any grudges or not, you just need to remember that as long as you want to destroythe Jent family, I’ll always be on your side.
