The voice answered, “I’m Officer Hoover from the Ventropolis Police Department. Donna Jolie, from theVentropolis Seventh Mental Hospital, hurt someone there. We were chasing her when a big truck hit
her car, and it went off a cliff. We found her phone, and it was connected to your call.”
Ethan was taken aback. Just five minutes ago, he received a mysterious call. It was Donna. “Congratson your engagement! Soon, you’ll have the whole package: a wife, kids, and a perfect family. Ethan quickly said, “I need to step out. You handle the meeting and update me afterward.” Leyton hadcaught bits of Ethan’s earlier conversation and knew Donna was stirring up trouble.
“You can’t go chasing after her again,” Leyton cautioned. “Think about what it would mean for Ms.Jent.”
