Chapter 441

Chapter 441

Zach said nothing and turned to head downstairs. When he reached the lower floor, he instructedMargaret, “Make some chicken soup and give it to Madelyn when she wakes up.”novelbin

Margaret nodded, “Okay.”

Jadie gripped Zach’s arm and asked, “Zach, you haven’t answered my question. What’s going on withMadelyn? Is she still upset about the Math Olympiad? Actually, she still has a chance.”

“That’s enough. I’ll handle Madelyn’s matters myself.” Zach’s mind was already in turmoil, and nowanother voice buzzing in his ear only added to his headaches.

Jadie was stunned, holding back tears. Zach had never scolded her once from childhood to adulthood. He would never blame her, even though he knew it was her fault, “Zach, did I say something wrong? You scolded me but I was just concerned about Madelyn.”

Zach looked at her calmly, “After finishing your meal, go back and review your homework. I’ve alreadysent Rosario to the

apartment. From now on, you don’t have to come unless I bring you here.”

After speaking, Zach went upstairs and Jadie followed him, “Why can’t I come here? We’ve been livinghere together for so many years. Anywhere with you is my home. I’ve considered this place my ownhome for a long time. Is this because I took Madelyn’s spot in the Math Olympiad training class backthen? Zach, if that’s what you think, I can skip the follow-up competition.”

Zach stopped. His expression showed irritation even though he had been trying to restrain himself.“Jadie, you’re not a kid anymore. You shouldn’t expect me to manage everything for you. Stop beng so

immature. The Jent residence belongs to the Jent family, not the Jardin or White families. Figure outyour role. I don’t want to hear that from you again in the future.”

Margaret shivered and looked back. ‘Oh my! I couldn’t believe she dared to say she considered thisplace her home. They’ve generously taken her in, but she acts like she’s the precious daughter of thehouse, showing na sense of manners at all.’

“Zach, you can’t just ignore me! Zach Jardin!” It was the first time Jadie had called his full name.

Zach wearily returned to the study in his room. Aside from the master bedroom, his room was thelargest. In front of his laptop screen, he closed his eyes and leaned back in the chair. Voices echoed inhis head.

“Remember this person. It’s all because of him. You must remember it and settle the score, or I’ll neverfind peace in this

lifetime.”

“Okay, I’ll remember!”

At three in the morning, with the bedroom door left ajar, Zach heard footsteps descending the stairs. The sound came just in time, jolting him awake from a nightmare and drenching him in a cold sweat.Picking up the watch from the table, it read twelve past three. ‘I slept for so long.”

Zach stretched, feeling a sharp pain in his shoulder. Without much time to dwell on it, he got up andwalked to the door. He happened to see Madelyn coming down the stairs. Zach followed and saw herin fuzzy slippers, opening the front door and stepping outside.

‘What’s she trying to do in the middle of the night?’ Zach frowned and followed her. He watched asMadelyn went to the backyard and sat on the swing, completely motionless.
