“You guys go ahead. I’m almost ready. I just need to change my shoes.” Madelyn walked over to theshoe rack and slipped on a pair of white cashmere shoes. Downstairs, Hayson was already seated onthe living room couch.

Madelyn rolled her eyes. “Fine, I wish you a long life, to find your true love soon, and to start a familynext year.” After saying this, she unceremoniously pulled her hand away.
