She sighed, “Mr. Parker had plans for you with Mr. Jardin, but that’s off the table now, given his marital

Audrey clutched her chest, coughing weakly, “I can’t be Mrs. Jardin. My illness forbids me from living a

normal life.”

Blake, now indignant, demanded, “Why should I answer you? You broke into my house! I’ll call thepolice!”

She listed her grievances, finally demanding compensation, “For the lock, the door, my emotionaldistress

that’s at least five hundred dollars!”

Surprisingly, Kevin calmly took out his ID card from his wallet and gave Blake his wallet. He asked,“Will

this cover it?”
