Chapter 1030

TE SONUS

After a two–and–a–half–hour movie, Blake and Liam ended up in a packed elevator. Blake winced assomeone acr’dentally stepped on her foot. Liam quickly guided her to a less crowded spot, asking. “You

“Yeah, I’m fine.”

“Hang in there, just a little longer,”

“Okay.” Blake found solace behind Liam, their hands finding each other’s. She glanced up at him, herheart fluttering.

When they finally reached the ground floor, Liam did not let go of her hand, his brow furrowed slightly.Blake had noticed him closing his eyes now and then during the movie.

“Is everything alright? You don’t look too good,” Blake expressed her concern.

Liam looked a bit worn out, and shook his head, “I’m okay. Let me take you home.”

Blake recalled a text from her mom and asked, “Is it your headache again?”

Liam’s pained expression reminded Blake of a weary golden retriever, endearing yet pitiful. He gave aweak smile and said, “Just need to take my medicine back at home.”

“I can’t let you suffer like this. Let’s get you some medicine. I know how bad headaches can get. Let’sgo, I’ll help you out.” Blake insisted.

Before Liam could protest, Blake took his hand and guided him out of the building. At that moment,Liam’s gaze remained fixed on Blake unbeknownst to her.

In a nearby parked car, Kevin and Susan watched them leave. Susan remarked, “Isn’t that Blake? Nowonder she left right on time, she’s meeting her boyfriend

“He does look pretty handsome,” Susan added, glancing at Kevin, who seemed displeased.

Blake Liam headache medicine and a bottle of water.

“This always works f

works for me and it’s gentle on the stomach,” Blake explained, handing Liam two pills.

Blake noticed Liam hesitated and she urged, “Go ahead, take them.”

“Okay

Liam seemed a bit out of it, either from the headache or something else. As he took the pills, his lipsbrushed against her palm, leaving Blake momentarily stunned

“Don’t forget to drink some water,” Blake reminded Liam, unscrewing the bottle cap and holding it to hislips, noticing he kept his hands in his pockets.

“You’re not running a fever, are you? Let me check,” Blake said, reaching up to Liam’s forehead.

Liam instinctively bent down, allowing Blake to touch his forehead. Comparing it to her own, sheconcluded, “No fever, probably just stress from overworking. This medicine should help. You’ll feelbetter

soon.”

“Thanks,” Liam murmured.

“I should get you home. Wouldn’t want you passing out on me. Where’s your place?” Blake inquired, genuinely concerned.

There Liam took his hand out from his pocket and pointed in a direction, toward a high–end residential

Wow, you’re quite wealthy. Let’s go… The monthly rent for staying here must be quite expensive.”

Blake happily chatted with Liam and watched a movie with him. They were like friends who had knowneach other for a long time. Blake noticed that he did not like to talk much.

Liam responded, “Nah, it’s not that expensive.”

Blake said, “Your job’s pretty nice. You stay at home every day writing novels. You don’t need tonetwork or deal with angry bosses. You know, the people around me are a bunch of monsters.”

Liam looked away from the road to stare at Blake, “If you’re not happy at work, you should quit.”

Blake chuckled and looked at him, “I’m not like you. I don’t eam hundreds of thousands of dollars oreven millions in a month. Besides, if I don’t work, who’ll support me? I don’t want to burden my aunt.”

Liam responded, “I have money. I’ll support you.”

Upon hearing this, Blake suddenly choked on her own saliva. The wind blew at her and messed up herhair. The lights at the road side reflected in Liam’s eyes. Blake smiled at Liam, “Liam, your joke isn’tfunny at all. We’ve just met, and you’re already talking about supporting me?

“We just met each other through a blind date, so we should take it slow. Who says stuff like that at suchan early stage?”novelbin

Liam lowered his head like a well–behaved child who had said something wrong. Blake looked at himand suddenly noticed that his hair looked extremely soft.

They then arrived at a high–end residential area.

Liam stopped walking, “We’re here.”

Blake nodded, “You can take the medicine. I’m not going up with you.”

I’ll pay you.” Liam took out his wallet from his pocket, but Blake stopped him and said, “It’s fine. It’s justa

little over ten dollars.

“It’s almost ten o’clock. I need to go home. You should go up now.”

Blake turned away to leave without looking back. Liam watched her back as she left. His body moved.slightly d said, “Good night.”

Good night, Liam!” Blake waved to him.

She left the residential area and walked to the main street. When she was about to hail a taxi, the coldwind blew at her and made her rub her arms. It was only then that she realized she was still wearingLiam’s gloves, “How could I forget about returning this to him? It’s fine, I’ll return the gloves to him nexttime.

She thought, ‘Compared to the previous blind dates, he’s left a relatively good Impression. However, Ican’t help but notice he seemed a little delicate. He’s like a frail, pampered aristocrat who gets sickeasily. And I’m like a maid serving by his side, who suddenly caught his eye.”

Blake was amused by her own metaphor.

She then kicked a stone nearby. The stone suddenly hit a tire and bounced back.

Blake looked up and saw a car parked in front of her. She was startled as her eyes trembled.

She said, “Mr. Harrison? Why are you here?”

Kevin lowered the car window, “Get in.”

Blake rejected him without any hesitation, “I–It’s fine! I’ve called a car. It’ll be here soon…”

“What are you doing?! Are you leaving or not?!” The driver behind stuck his head out and startedscolding.

Blake quickly opened the front passenger door and got into the car.
