Chapter 20

“One more thing, don’t wear this ever again. It looks horrible on you.” Calvin commented. Hannah feltangrier as he insulted her choice of clothing. “Calvin, why do you want me to throw away clothes thatwere specifically given to me by Jay?” He shrugged his shoulders and answered, “Because they’reugly.” “You…” Before Hannah could argue, he grabbed onto her arm tightly. “Why? Don’t you think so?”He growled as he rubbed her arm. “Ouch!” Hannah hissed in pain. “Mrs. Fullerton.” He gradually let goof his grip on her and warned. “This is your second time meeting with that jack*ss.” Jack*ss? Althoughtaken aback from his words, Hannah was intimidated by the drastic change of his tone. Calvin smiledand said, “Besides, you can always buy new clothes.” “But didn’t you mention that it is always importantto be grateful for everything? I would feel bad if you threw them out.” Hannah argued. “Do you feel badbecause of the clothes, or because it was from Jay?” Calvin raised his brows as he asked. Thisb*stard’s trying to make fun of me! Hannah bit her lip and stormed to her bedroom, while Calvinfollowed her. “Why are you following me?” Hannah turned her head around and asked. “To check if youwill use the disinfectant.” “But I’ll be…” It took Hannah a second to get what he meant and asked, “Areyou really going to follow me?” “Why?” Calvin sneered. “Worry not, I don’t think I’ll lay my hand onsomething as filthy as you.” Hannah glared back in response to Calvin’s comment. She was then urgedby Calvin to go into the bathroom once they entered her bedroom. She stared blankly at the bathtub fora while and felt utterly uncomfortable. “Calvin.” She peeked her head out and called out to him. “This isquite uncomfortable for me.” “What do you mean uncomfortable?” Calvin looked at her confused. “I’mgoing to take a bath… which means you can see me from outside.” She uttered. “Have I not seen younaked before?” He answered nonchalantly. “Calvin!” Hannah shrieked. “Hmm?” He smiled. “Fine.” Sheknew he wouldn’t budge no matter what she said, so she decided to let it slide. A curtain stoodbetween the bathtub and the glass wall of the bathroom. It didn’t make a difference as it wastranslucent. She slowly undressed herself while ignoring Calvin’s stare. It’s fine, he’s my husband.Hannah thought to herself as she filled the bathtub with hot water. Once the bathtub was almost filledup and the room was steamy, Hannah turned the temperature of the water down. She hurriedly divedinto the tub once she had undressed herself to her undergarments. Calvin chuckled upon the sight. Hewas not obsessed with any woman till he met Hannah. Calvin would always feel content whenever she

would embarrass herself. After a while, he shouted at the steamy bathroom, “I’m still here watchingyou, make sure to use the soap three times.” Hannah silently cursed as the water continued to fill thetub. “I can hear you cursing.” Calvin looked at his watch and said, “You should start disinfecting.” Inreality, he couldn’t see anything from outside and purely speculated based on the time and the soundof water. Hannah rolled her eyes and groaned loudly, “I know!” When Calvin noticed the smell ofdisinfectant, he nodded proudly and walked out of her room. As he walked to his study, he received amessage from Cindy. “Calvin, listen to my latest demo! I recorded it just now…” He glanced atHannah’s room before deleting the message. If things were to go according to plan, his date with Cindywould become a hot topic on the Internet by tomorrow. However, he knew that Cindy wouldn’t mind asshe was in the midst of boosting her own popularity for her business. Indeed, this would benefit him attimes of need too. … Ciel had been waiting for hours in the study room. He was Calvin’s secretary, apatient, loyal and dependable man. “Any news on the Elkins family?” Calvin asked once he set footonto his study room. The Elkins family business was under a difficult financial situation for the past fewyears. Thanks to Tracy’s relationship with Liam, they remained a highly respected family. However,Liam’s death had a big impact on the Elkins family and Calvin started observing them recently. “Ms.Tracy had placed great importance on the tender plan. After reading through the tender proposal, I canconfirm Mr. Liam was highly involved in the planning and was confirmed by him too.” Ciel reported.Calvin picked out a book from his huge collection and placed it on his study table, “So?” He askedwhile wearing his golden-framed glasses. “Ms. Tracy had expressed that she knew she would win thebid,” Ciel gulped nervously before continuing, “There was also a rumor talking about foul play, statingthat the Forbes Group would let her do so.” “Release an announcement tomorrow, emphasizing thefairness of the tender.” Calvin sat on his chair and ordered, “It’s foolish for Tracy to use my brother asleverage. She should prove it on her own instead.” I would’ve laid some mercy upon her, but seeinghow greedy she is now… He added. “Quality comes first for all tender plans. I’m surprised you wouldmake such an amateur mistake.” Ciel hung his head low and apologized, “Sorry, sir. It’ll not happenagain.” Calvin didn’t bother to press on the issue anymore and asked, “Any updates about the incident ”Ciel immediately passed him the documents and answered, “It was indeed Ms. Tracy’s doing, sir.”novelbin

Calvin didn’t comment any further as he had expected this. He felt relieved that it wasn’t Hannah’sdoing after all and he couldn’t care less about Tracy. “One more thing.” Ciel took out an envelope andpassed it to Calvin, “This is my report about Mr. Liam’s whereabouts a week before he died.” Calvinasked, “Did you record everything in detail?” Ciel nodded and continued, “Yes, sir, and I foundsomething odd. That week, Mr. Liam had visited a girl three times, but I couldn’t find anything abouther.”
