Upon hearing Percy's words, the elderly villager lowered his head and fell silent.
Everyone had turned equally dispirited, and the tension in the air became palpable.

Ali's eyes lit up as he lurched forward to grab Jared's hand. “A-Are you serious? You're not lying to me,right?”

In his ecstasy, Ali hugged Jared.
The other people also merrily surrounded Jared, gazing at him with reverence in their eyes.
Even Percy had taken a step forward to look at Jared in disbelief. “Jared, you're an alchemist? Ithought you were already very strong, but I never expected you'd also be an alchemist!”
Jared was still perplexed by their reactions. He could not wrap his head around why they were soexcited to hear that he was an alchemist.

Thus, Jared regretfully told Emily, “I can't treat your grandma's eyes with my current capability.”
A wave of disappointment struck Emily when she heard his reply, and she lowered her head.
“Emily, don't give up just yet. Although Jared can't cure your grandma's eyes, we can hire Dr. Weiss totreat your grandma's eyes after we sell the Demon Wolves,” Ali consoled.
