Chapter 3451

“Jennifer, please refrain from speaking nonsense. Father is already distressed enough.” Jacquesquickly gave his sister a stern look, signaling for her to watch her words.

“She’s right. If I had listened earlier, Mr. Freddie wouldn’t have gotten hurt.” Tyler stood up and shiftedhis gaze towards Jared.

He had always been wary of Jared and his gang, fearing that they would seize the treasure he haddiscovered.novelbin

However, even though the Summers family were the first to discover this treasure, they simply did nothave the ability to obtain it.

“Mr. Summers, Mr. Chance has the ability to discern the arcane array from outside, and that proves hetruly possesses genuine skills,” Freddie stated.

The art of forming arcane arrays was ever- changing and unpredictable. It was nearly impossible toanticipate what might happen next unless one personally set up the arcane array or stepped foot in it.

However, Jared was able to predict that Freddie would get injured by observing the arcane array fromoutside. This proved Jared’s understanding of arcane arrays to be superior to theirs.

Tyler nodded. At this point, he had no choice but to admit that Jared indeed had some real skills.

“My friend, I wonder if you would join us in breaking the arcane array. We are willing to share a portionof the treasure we find,” Tyler humbly asked, setting aside his pride.

“Why should I join forces with you when I can break it myself? Why should I let you guys be a part of it?You want me to share the treasure with you, huh?” Jared asked with a faint smile.

His words left Tyler speechless.

The other members of the Summers family also looked at Jared in disbelief.

“Hey, you brat, don’t you think you’re being too arrogant? You dare to claim that you can break thisarcane array yourself when both my father and Mr. Freddie failed to find the core?” Jacques saiddisdainfully, thinking Jared was just boasting.

Freddie furrowed his brows and struggled to his feet. “My friend, even though your understanding ofarcane arrays might be deeper than ours, it is nearly impossible for you to dismantle such a grandarcane array all by yourself. Even if you located the core, you would need help to destroy it. Everymember of our family is proficient in the art of arcane arrays, so collaborating with us is the bestdecision you can make.”

Freddie also didn’t believe that Jared could break the arcane array alone.

“That’s because you’re incompetent. Don’t judge others based on your own standards. Just becauseyou can’t do it, doesn’t mean others can’t,” Jared sneered.

“Who are you calling incompetent? The Summers family is a prominent family throughout the entiresouthern region. We are at the top in the field of both arcane arrays and charms!” Jacques bellowed, seething with rage.

Jared remained calm in the face of the furious Jacques. He smiled. “The overall level in terms ofarcane array and charm skills is extremely low in the entire Ethereal Realm, not to mention thesouthern region.

“In the Ethereal Realm, where combat skills are revered and magecraft is disdained, everyone aspiresto become immortals, scoffing at the idea of arcane arrays and charms, leading to an extremely lowlevel of proficiency in these arts.” Jared’s words left everyone in the Summers family stunned. Theythen fell into complete silence.

What Jared said was the truth. The Ethereal Realm used to produce plenty of talented individuals, butlater on, the status of cultivators who specialized in arcane arrays and charms became lower, and theirprogress in cultivation slowed down, causing them to be looked down upon by others.

Not just experts in arcane arrays and charms, even alchemists were positioned at the bottom of thesocial ladder. As a result, many cultivators in the Ethereal Realm began to abandon the practice ofalchemy as well as arcane arrays and charms, focusing all their energy on increasing their cultivationlevel.

Over the course of several millennia, the number of cultivators proficient in the art of arcane arrays andcharms gradually dwindled, as well as alchemists. Following the decline of these cultivators, theirimportance slowly became more pronounced.
