Chapter 3220

“Fine! I’m not afraid,” said Miya, glaring angrily.

“Shut up, all of you! How dare you argue in Dad’s room? Do you have a death wish? Whoever dares toutter another word will immediately be imprisoned on the family’s ancestral land to reflect on theirfaults,” Lawrence warned coldly, which instantly frightened the others into silence.

Even Enrique could only look on defiantly without daring to say anything. After all, Lawrence was nowthe head of the family, so he had to obey.

Seeing that Lawrence had taken control of the situation, Jared stepped forward to check on Claudius’condition. After conducting a thorough examination, he could not help but frown.

“What’s the matter, Mr. Chance?” Cloud asked softly.novelbin

Jared did not answer. Instead, he turned to Lawrence and enquired, “Who has been treating your fatherrecently?”

“The three of them…” Lawrence gestured toward the three alchemists before asking. “Why? Issomething wrong?”

“Do you still have the medicine he has been taking? Let me take a look,” said Jared.

Lawrence nodded and retrieved a bottle from the bedside. It contained the medicine Claudius: tookevery day.

Taking the bottle, Jared opened it and took a sniff. The alchemists clearly looked uneasy when theysaw that and even snuck a glance at Enrique.

Realization seemed to dawn on Jared after he smelled what was inside the bottle. Without wasting anytime, he sent a wave of spiritual energy into Claudius’ body, then quickly pressed on a few points on

the latter’s body with his fingers. After that, he slowly stood up and said, “Your father does have astubborn ailment, but it’s not so serious to the point that it’d be fatal that quickly. The reason why hehas become so weak is because someone drugged him. I’ve temporarily sealed off his vitals, so he’llbe fine these next few days. I’ll also write a prescription, and you can prepare the medicineaccordingly.”

Shocked, Lawrence demanded, “What? Someone drugged him? Who did it?”

Jared held up the porcelain bottle. “The medicine your father takes every day contains Frost HoneyBlossom. Although it’s a type of panacea, it cannot be taken for extended periods. Prolonged use willcause one’s body to grow increasingly weaker.”

Upon hearing that, Cade could not help cursing loudly, “D*mn it! I wondered why Grandpa’s conditionwasn’t getting any better. So, this is why.”

For him to swear showed just how enraged he was.

Meanwhile, Lawrence knitted his brows after hearing Jared’s answer and fixed the three alchemistswith an icy stare. Feeling his cold gaze on them, the trio trembled with fear.

“Don’t listen to that brat’s nonsense. What does he know at his age? There’s absolutely nothing wrongwith the medicine we gave,” one of them solemnly assured Lawrence.

“Whether or not there’s something wrong with the medicine is not for either of us to say. I’m sure YellowBlue City has an Alchemist Guild. All one has to do is ask them to determine whether I’m spoutingnonsense,” Jared responded calmly.

“Go and consult them at once,” Lawrence immediately said to Cade.

Just as Cade was about to set off, however, the alchemist piped up and said, “We examined yourfather’s condition and created this pill to treat him. It was all so he could get better, but we wereunaware that Frost Honey Blossom isn’t suitable for prolonged use.”

Lawrence was infuriated by the alchemist’s explanation.

“You were unaware? It’s common knowledge. Even a rookie alchemist would know that. The three ofyou don’t look all that young. Don’t tell me neither of you knew about it?” Jared asked, a smile tuggingat his lips. His response left the alchemists bereft of words.
