Chapter 3166

Cloud nodded, holding the coin in his hand before boarding the airship together with Jared. Their shipsubsequently soared into the sky and flew toward Imperial Beast City.

The airship had made traveling a lot easier for them. All they needed to do was quietly wait until theyarrived at their destination. Meanwhile, Imperial Beast City was on full alert.

A huge amount of guards were standing vigilantly at their stations. On top of a hill nearby, hordes ofsoldiers had appeared alongside an equally massive amount of demon beasts.

Separated by a distance of a few thousand meters, both sides were raring to get at each other’sthroats. At that moment, the frowning Yuven was sitting on the throne in the palace with his generalsgathered in front of him.

However, there was a lack of powerful warriors, as the strongest among them was no more than aSeventh Level Body Fusion Realm cultivator.

Ever since Xandros and Tigerus seized Imperial Beast City through their plot, the powerful warriorswho were loyal to Yuven ended up being slaughtered in secret. Tigerus was worried that he could notput them down in the event of a rebellion.

As he had secured his position with the help of Norwal City, he knew that he could never rely on themforever to establish his reign. He had killed anyone in the city who posed a threat to him.

The purge had wiped out the most powerful warriors in the city, leaving only the Body Fusion Realmcultivators standing before Yuven.

Initially, Imperial Beast City had five powerful warriors protecting the king. Only when the city was indanger would Yuven trigger a secret mechanism for them to appear.

All five of them were Tribulator cultivators who, under normal circumstances, were constantly in trainingand would not get involved in the city’s affairs. However, Tigerus’ betrayal had been so sudden thatYuven didn’t manage to summon them in time.

After Yuven took back the city and killed Tigerus, the first thing he did was to check on the five, but hesoon discovered that they had died miserable deaths. Without a doubt, Tigerus had caught them offguard and slaughtered them all.

The turn of events had drastically reduced the strength of Imperial Beast City. Other than Yuven alone, there was no other Tribulator cultivator within it.

Fortunately, the city had plenty of guards. Together with the demon beasts in the city’s vicinity, they hadformed an army of more than ten thousand, enough to protect the city for the time being.novelbin

Nevertheless, when Lucian learned of Yuven’s return and how he had taken back the city, heimmediately sent his army to attack it again.

Given that Lucian had come prepared and had brought along many powerful warriors, his armyobviously had the upper hand.

In spite of that, the moat protecting Imperial Beast City prevented him from launching a direct attack, resulting in the current stalemate.

“Your Majesty, King Lucian is just too much for attempting to invade us. At most, we will fight him to thedeath!” one of the generals suggested, breaking the silence in the room.

“I disagree. King Lucian is obviously more powerful than us. I think we should make peace. Since hehasn’t attacked us right away, I have a feeling that he is open to the idea. We can send out an emissary

to discuss terms. Worse comes to worst, we’ll offer them resources in return for their retreat,” anothergeneral proposed, fearful of Lucian’s strength.

The mere mention of making peace triggered a frown from Yuven and a murderous glint in his eyes.Glaring at the general who suggested it, Yuven swung his palm at him.

Boom…

The general, who was sent flying by the impact, exploded in midair. The gruesome scene causedeveryone in the room to catch their breath in fear.

“I’ve gathered you to discuss how to defeat the enemy, not to have you beg for peace. This is theconsequence of attempting to lower the army’s morale,” Yuven said in an icy tone.
