Chapter 2548 Unconcerned

Chev and the others were all wounded after they killed the bloodthirsty beast. At the same time, theirauras were all messed up.

After they retrieved the beast core from it, Chev was sitting nearby to catch his breath.

When he saw that Francois and Brutus had returned unexpectedly fast, he couldn't help askingcuriously, “Why are you guys back so soon? Where's Grus Divina?”

“The other group took it, and we lost them!” Francois replied frustratedly.

Seeing that Francois didn't return with Grus Divina, Chev instantly went on his guard.

“Why did you guys come back without Grus Divina? Why didn't you chase after them?” Chevquestioned Francois.

“How were we supposed to do that? They were long gone when we got there!” After saying that,Francois swept a glance at the bloodthirsty beast's carcass and uttered plainly, “Brutus and Icontributed to killing this bloodthirsty beast. Besides, it wouldn't have died if not for the effect of theWeakening Pills. Now that the bloodthirsty beast is dead, I think we're entitled to our share of the loot.”

Chev let out a scoff when he heard those words. “Francois, you're just so full of crap, aren't you?”

Upon hearing that scornful remark, Brutus roared, “What do you mean?”

Francois immediately stopped Brutus from having a go at Chev. We're outnumbered, and we'veexhausted ourselves by fighting against that bloodthirsty beast. If we were to fight Chev and the othersnow, we might not necessarily win.

“Chev, I know I told you I would give the bloodthirsty beast to you. However, we couldn't retrieve GrusDivina. You can't possibly let us go back empty-handed, can you?” Francois asked in a low tone. Heeven sounded like he was pleading.

After all, their master would definitely give them an earful and punish them if they were to return empty-handed.

“Well, how is that any of my concern? You were stupid for letting others get to Grus Divina before you.How is that my problem?” Chev's expression was filled with disdain. With an arched brow, he added,“The bloodthirsty beast is all mine. I won't let you take any of its flesh. If you want to take it by force, bemy guest! I'll drag you down with me if I have to, and we'll all end up getting eaten by the demon beastsin this mountain range!”

With that, Chev assumed an offensive stance because he knew Francois and Brutus wouldn't dare tofight him.

Francois couldn't do anything about Chev's reluctance to give in. In the end, he glared at the latter for afew seconds before he brought Brutus out of there. It's not worth it to risk our lives over a bloodthirstybeast's carcass.novelbin

“Francois, are we really going back empty-handed? If we go back now, we'll definitely be punished byMaster!” Brutus was rather upset.

“Obviously, we can't return empty-handed. We need to find out who that fellow is. Once we locate him,we'll find Grus Divina!” Francois couldn't help gritting his teeth when he thought of Jared.

“Francois, what if that guy had already swallowed Grus Divina whole?” Brutus asked worriedly.

“He won't do that. He seemed like an alchemist himself, so I bet he knows that swallowing mysticalherbs whole will kill him instantly! The only way he can ingest Grus Divina is to make it into a pill. However, I don't think he has the ability to do that. In other words, I'm sure he's still carrying GrusDivina around!” Francois analyzed the situation carefully and assumed Jared didn't have the capabilityto refine Grus Divina into a pill.

Francois was right. At that moment, Jared couldn't refine Grus Divina. Yet, once he recovered, refiningGrus Divina would be a walk in the park.

“Francois, I don't know that man, but I know those accompanying him are from Rock Village. Let's askthe villagers in Rock Village. Perhaps we'll find out who he is!” Brutus uttered.
