Chapter 55
hapter 55 – The Battle LIAM
“They are here,” I say, and the word spreads. And everyone gets ready, ready to fight and protect what
is ours.
And here they are. We can hear them get closer and smell them. Most of the warriors are hidden in the
trees and behind bushes. But I am here so that they see me first standing together with Mack and a
small group of warriors.
I see the first group of shifted wolves come into our view, and they stop up when they see us. More
wolves come forward, and like the first ones, they stop as if waiting for something or someone. Then I
see him, Alpha Miles, coming forward and walking towards us. He stops and looks at us before
grinning cruelly when he is within talking distance.
“Your highness.”
“What are you doing here, Alpha Miles,” I ask him acting as if I don’t know his plans.
“I am here to take what is mine and what I deserve to be mine.” He answers, not wasting any
time.
“Then you are in the wrong place, Alpha.” I calmly tell him.
“I don’t think so. Laura rightfully belongs to me, and so do her twins. The boy is my heir.” He says anger
is showing in his eyes from his otherwise calm posture.
“Ah, I can hear you are misinformed,” I say without as much as blinking
“What you mean,” He asks.
“Only that the Twins are mine,” I tell him.
“Your lying.” His rage became more challenging for him to hide. I shrug my shoulders.
“Believe what you want, Alpha. And Laura stopped belonging to you the day you betrayed and rejected
her. She now carries my mark, and her wolf carries the mark from mine. So turn around while you can
and take that treacherous bitch with you when you do.” I snarl, pointing to Camille.
“I don’t need your whore, your highness.” He says with a grin. “She is not mine, and she was nothing
more than someone I fucked.” I snarled “Your highness, give me Laura and my son. Then I will leave
peacefully.” Alpha Miles says. I laugh
“You will never get near her or our pups.”
“Then be it, I hoped you gave them a goodbye kiss. You will never see them again.” He snarls
He gave some of the wolves a sign, and they began to walk toward us. Mack and the others shift, but I
stand calm and strong. They attack when they get close enough, but they are no match for my warriors,
even if they are three times as many as we are. My warriors all stand when more than half are down,
still alive most of them just being knocked out. I never liked killing other wolves. Specifically not wolves
that are simply under the command and follow
orders.
“LISTEN, EVERYONE, AND I KNOW THAT MOST OF YOU, IF NOT ALL, ARE UNDER A
COMMAND. IF YOU’RE NOT I SUGGEST THAT YOU LEAVE AND WON’T RISK YOUR LIFE FOR
THIS MAN WHO DON’T GIVES A SHIT ABOUT YOU. IF YOU TURN TO LEAVE PEACEFULLY, WE
WILL LET YOU GO. THIS ALPHA IS ONLY HERE BECAUSE OF JEALOUSY.”
I yell out to the hundreds of wolves standing behind Alpha Miles. I notice that many wolves look at each
other before many of them leave. Not looking back, Alpha Miles laughs cruelly.
“You think that with a few words, we will walk away.”
“I know you won’t, Alpha, but they did,” I tell him and nods my head against the about 100 – 200 wolves
that left. He doesn’t say anything or reacts, but then he smirks. “It doesn’t matter. You are here and not
with many warriors, I might add. So I will end you, your highness. I will take your crown, Laura, and my
son. And get what I deserve. And don’t worry, I will make sure that your baby will not survive either.
Can have some rightful air fight me later.” He snarls, and I growl at him. This man is sick.
“You will never get out of this forest again. Alpha.” I snarl, and he laughs, Before charging at me.
He comes running full speed towards me, and when he gets closer jumps into the air and tries to kick
my face. I grab his food at twist it, so he falls to the ground. He is up fast, though, and yells out a
command.
“ATTACK” 1
His warriors run towards us but get surprised when all my hidden warriors come out from where they
were hiding. “You didn’t think I wasn’t prepared, did you?” I ask Miles He snarls and charges at me
again. He is a good fighter. I’ll give him that, and he gets some powerful hits in. Again he tries to kick
me. This time I grab him and throw him a few feet away. He is getting mad, and when he stands up, he
shifts into his wolf Titus. I don’t waste any time and let Shadow come out and take over. He doesn’t
wait but attacks with full force. Titus charges, and the two wolves bite and scratch each other. Titus’
claws hit Shadow on the side of his belly and make a deep long cut. Luckily no? so deep that he hit any
organs. Shadow is furious, he ignores the damage and pain and attacks again, and his claws run over
Titus’ face, damaging one of his eyes. Titus kicks us away, but Shadow attacks again, biting down on
the back of his neck. And I hear shadow’s powerful voice run through my mind and reach Titus.
‘SUBMIT.” Titus whimpers but tries to throw Shadow off him. But Shadow is stronger and more
powerful even with the deep cut running out with blood.
‘SUBMIT’ Shadows growl, this time coming out with a command from the king he is. Titus whimper
again and growls. But he also knows he has lost.
‘I never wanted to hurt mate.’ Titus’s voice comes forward to Shadow.
‘I tried to stop him. Tell Kali and her human I am sorry.’ With these words, he bows his head and
submits to Shadow. It’s heartbreaking to see a proud wolf like this being forced to hurt his soul mate not
once but twice.
‘Keep her and our pups safe.’ With those words, he pulls back and forces the shift back into
Miles’s human form. Shadow snarls and growls, and I hear him say now to Miles.
‘You hurt her, and you almost killed her. Kali almost decided to leave Laura because she lost her
destined mate. I healed her. And I will not let you get anywhere near any of them. You might be theirnovelbin
biological father. But Liam is their dad. And we will protect them with our life.’ His deep voice says.
Miles is shaking and not answering. Shadow walks closer, hovering over his body on the ground. And
we shift back, so I am standing in human form, looking down at him. The battles around us have
stopped. I guess everyone heard Shadow in their mind. Many are severely injured, and many are dead.
“LIAM” my head snaps in the direction of Laura’s voice.
“Laura, what the hell? Get back to the bunker. What are you doing here.” I yell, panicked.
“I… I felt you get hurt.” She whispers. All the wolves, including the ones from Midnight Pack, let her
through. Mack is immediately by her side with two of our head warriors, protecting her.
She reaches me, and I can see the worry when she sees the deep cut.
“I am fine, baby. I already started to heal.” I take her in my arms.
“You should not be here. You do not have to see this,” I whisper.
“Yes, I do. I need to see it so I know all this shit is over and that they are safe.” I look at her, nod my
head and kiss her before letting go and turning back towards Miles, who is being held down by his own
Beta and 3 of my warriors.
“I was willing to let you go and live your life for the twins’ sake, so they, when they are old enough,
could choose to get to know if they wanted to… But you came here intending to hurt and kill me, the
King. And to hurt our mate and your Queen. That I can not forgive or ignore.”
I motion to the warriors to pull him up to his feet.
“I Liam Moon Black, Alpha of the Royal Moon Pack. King of the eastern kingdom. Sentences you Alpha
Miles Midnight, Alpha of the Midnight Pack, to death for treason and plotting to kill me.”
I walk close to him and let Shadow take control, and my claws come out. Before anyone can say or do
anything, I slash my claws deep into his throat. Blood is spilling out fast, and I know Titus must have
accepted their death because he won’t try to heal Miles. Miles falls to the ground and takes his last
breath.
I turn to Laura, but she doesn’t say anything. There is no remorse or sadness but only a sense of relief
coming through the matebond.
“Laura?” I ask and look at her, but keeping my distance, she just saw me almost beheading a man. She
looks up at me and then surprises me by running into my arms as fast as possible with her pregnant
belly.
“Baby, careful, please. I am still healing.” The wound I have almost stopped bleeding, but it will take a
day or two before it’s completely healed. She whimpers.
“I’m sorry.” She whispers.
“Don’t be. Come here, baby.” I hold her close and kiss her lips. Then I turn toward the Beta
from the Midnight Pack
“As Beta, you now have the command You and your remaining warriors are free to leave.” The Beta
bows his head.
“Thank you, your highness.” I nod my head
Before walking away, I make sure someone is taking care of our injured warnors, and someone will
take care of preparations to bury the dead we lost in total 29 wolves, and many were hurt But this could
have been so much worse
