Chapter 35 – An Old Face

Time is going so fast, the twins are 7 months old now and growing so fast it is difficult to keep up. Zack
was the first one on every step. Right from
stopping feeding from me to stand up and try to walk. Being werewolves makes them grow faster than
a human, but the Alpha blood made it just faster than other pups
Zara is a real little princess and she loves
Liam, when she gets really fussy and won‘t stop crying, Liam can calm her within seconds.
I am right now sitting in the garden outside of the house, looking at Kai playing with the twins, Mack an
d h e have gotten really close, and Mack told us all 2 months ago, that he would like to raise Kai. We tal
ked about it. Mack has yet
to find his mate. Usually, we don‘t go that long without our mate, but it happens, and if he finds her she
might not like that he is raising a little boy. But Mack
said if she truly is his mate she will find it in her heart to help raise him. So Liam made it official, Kai wa
s now fully Mack‘s foster kid and you can easily see how much they love each other,
As for me
and Liam, I don‘t think I have been happier in my entire life. And Kali has grown close to his wolf, Liam i
s always showing how much he cares. And how much he loves spending time with me and the twins. A
nd now do I enjoy our alone time, he has thought and showed me so many ways to enjoy ourselves
when we
see intimate with each other. The pack never saw it as a bad thing, that their Alpha and king decided to
settle down with me.
We have had several
small packs coming in after rouge attacks. And we helped them move on, The Luna from the first pack
had decided to stay in this pack and raise her two boys. She have still a few times tried to seduce Liam,
but was turned down each time. The last time she went to me trying
to convince m e, that he was unfaithful. After that she
had one last warning, and since we don‘t really hear from her.
The rouge attacks have been getting worse, and we have had 4 attacks. Luckily without too many deat
hs on our side. About a month we heard that packs down south were getting heavily attached. Either kil
led o r forced to join the
rouges. Liam and Mack had agreed to send a large group of warriors down there to help out. And Mack
had gone with them to lead. Liam never mentioned the names on the packs, and I never
asked, a little afraid he would say the name of my old pack…
I suddenly feel a shadow falling onto me, and the next thing I know, Liam‘s handsome face
is in front of m e, smiling, I smile back and he kisses me.
“Mack called, he found his mate,” Liam says smiling.
“Really? That‘s amazing.” I answer back happy for Mack.
“Yup,
and he told her about fostering Kai, and she loves that he took in a kid just like that, and she will love to
help him raise him,” Liam tells me.
“Oh wow, that really is amazing. She sounds like a sweet and caring woman,
something those two need.” I say feeling happy.novelbin
“They will come home in a few days. The warriors have been spread out and the smallest packs moved
to the bigger ones. And Mack misses Kai. So I told him to come home.” He explains.
“That’s great. Kai misses him as well.” | answer.
“Laura?” I look up at Liam, busy changing the twins with the help of Kai, who is making Zara giggle.
“Are they here?” I ask excitedly. He shakes his head.
“Just wanted to see if you needed any help. But I see Kai is helping you.” He says smiling.
“Yes, she got all fussy but Kai managed to calm her.” I smile back and he kisses me and puts his arms
around me. I put a changed Zack on the floor and he crawl over to Zara and Kai. I turn around in Liam’s
eyes and he bends down kissing me deeply putting his hands on my ass and squeezing it.
“Liam, not here.” I glare and he chuckles.
Just as he is about to say something his eyes go cloudy and I know
someone is mindlinking him. He smiles and his handsome eyes go back to normal.
“They are just outside the borders.” He tells me. We go
and put the twins into their playpen, they are both tired and usually nap
together on the soft mattress in it. And sure enough, Zack crawled over and lay down next to his sister.
I Liam lifts up Kai, and we walk downstairs to meet Rosa. She hands Kai a new fresh
baked bun and he gladly takes it.
“Thank you, Mrs. Rosa.” He says. Rosa laughs.
“Oh dear boy, I told you that you can call me granny.” Kai smiles and eats his bun. While we are all goin
g outside when we hear a car pull up.
When we are coming outside a big smiling Mack gets out of the car. We didn‘t tell Kai he was coming h
ome wanting to surprise him. Kai squeals drop the rest of his bun and run all his small legs can over to
him. Mack catches him and lifts him up while laughing.
“Mack, Mack. You home, I missed you.” Kai cries out holding on tight to Mack.
“Hey, little man. Wow, you have grown. I missed you too.” Mack says hugging Kai. We were all so distr
acted
that we didn‘t notice the young woman getting out of the car. She stands with her back to us looking at t
he two hugging each other.
“Awe, that‘s so cute. And what a handsome little man you are.” She says. Making me look at her back h
er voice sounds so familiar.
“I am sorry baby, I got a little distracted,” Mack tells her before kissing her.
“Don‘t be silly, it‘s just as it should be.” She says softly saying hello to Kai, who looks at her and smiles.
I still look at her, wanting her to turn around. Mack kisses her again and looks at us.
“Sorry guys. Babe this is my family. Our Alpha and king, his sweet girlfriend, and his mother.” The wom
an turns around, and our eyes meet, making us both gasp before Mack can say anything more.
“Laura?” she almost whispers tears forming in her eyes. I am frozen to the ground.
“Is it really you?”
“Cora.” I manage to
whisper. Next thing I know she comes running surprising us all and pulls me into a big
hug.
“It is you. But how. Miles said he said you were dead.” I look at her as she pulls away.
“What?” I ask confused. She nods her head. I am about to ask what she meant, but remember we are
all
standing outside
“Erhm, Cora. This is Rosa and this is Liam our Alpha and king.” She looks at them and says hello,
Bowing her head to Liam
“Your highness. Hello, thank you for letting me come with Mack. And I’m sorry I am so rude. I am just
shocked to see Laura.” She whispers the last part.
“Hello Cora, and welcome. No need to be sorry. Let‘s all go inside and talk. Sounds like you two both
have questions.” Liam says smiling,
We all go inside and enter the living room. Mack and Cora sit on one couch. Kai has fallen asleep on
Mack and Cora smiles softly looking at them. Liam and I take the big chair. Liam smiled as he drag me
to sit on his lap. Rosa sitting in the other chair.
“I’m sorry for being so direct Cora. But I am guessing you come from the same pack as Laura
did.” She nods and I confirm it.
“Yes, we were best friends since childhood. And the only person I was sad to leave.” I say
softly and he nods looking at her again.
“You said, what you call him, Miles? Have told you Laura is dead?” He asks. Cora nods.
“He told us that you had run
away. He sent people out to try to find you to get you to come back. But after a week we all
saw him collapse in pain, and he said your bond had broken. That he felt you die. He ordered
men to look for your body. But obviously, they never found you.”
I look at Liam and he nods.
“Cora, it‘s true I ran. But I ran after he forced me with a command to watch him cheat with Leah. And he
rejected me
after. That‘s why I ran. Liam found me after I passed out after running for 2 days. I accepted his
rejection a few days later.” I tell her looking at her. She nods.
“I knew something must have gone horribly wrong. He announced only a day later that Leah would be
his chosen mate and said she would help him heal after you die like your sister she felt she needed to
be there for him, keep him strong.” I don‘t say anything.
“They have 1 boy now, but we can all tell that Miles is disappointed because he doesn‘t carry the Alpha
strength.” She continues. Liam and I look at each other again.
“How old is he?” | ask.
“About 4 months.” She answers.
“Come with us.” We stand up and walk upstairs. I do a hard breath and open the door to the nursery. S
he sees the twins, turns, and looks at me, I nod my head.
“They are 7 months old now,” I tell her.
“They are gorgeous. He is the heir the firstborn.” She says and I nod my head.
“I won‘t tell Miles, and you can‘t either. I won‘t hide from them who their father is. But it will be their choi
ce, not his.” She nods.
“Your Secret is safe with me.” She says and hugs me.
“I missed you, Laura.”
“I missed you too. But you here. And you and Mack are perfect for each other.”
“God, Laura, he is so sweet and caring, and I love how he has such a big heart to
rake in Kai to raise him.” She smiles big and with z dreamy look in her eyes.
Rest of the day we talk like the old days. I tell her about Liam and me and she smiles and wiggles her P
eyebrow at me and giggles.
“As long he treats you good. God, I would love to see Leah and Miles‘s faces if they
saw it.” She laughs hard, Liam laughs too. And I shake my head at them.
